Thank you for purchasing the HiFiMAN HE-300, a
full-size headphone that represents our best dynamic
driver technology. We believe the HE-300 is one of the
best headphones of its kind on the market.
This Owner's Guide is intended to provide a useful
overview of your new HE-300 and how to best operate
it for many years of enjoyment, safety and reliability.
Please take the time to familiarize yourself with its
features. If you have any questions or need additional
information, contact your authorized HiFiMAN dealer.

Product Overview
The HiFiMAN HE-300 is a full-size, open-back headphone
design with specially-designed dynamic drivers. While HE-300
can be used with sophisticated audio components, including
dedicated headphone amplifiers, its high efficiency (93dB
sensitivity) means it can also be used with portable audio
devices such as an iPod or iPhone.
The HE-300's robust construction utilizes quality materials
and audiophile-grade detachable cables. Yet its light weight,
plush ear pads and adjustable metal headband provide a
comfortable listening experience you can enjoy for hours on
end.
Connection is made via the supplied cable with screw-on
connections using separate ground leads for each channel
to minimize crosstalk between the channels. An adapter is
supplied so the HE-300 can be used in either a standard
phone jack or in a mini jack as found in portable devices.

Headband Adjustment for HiFiMAN
Headphones:
If the top of the headband does not touch your head, you can bend
the metal strip inside the headband into shape. To accomplish this,
first use your hands to flatten the top of the headband. Next, you
need increase the curvature of the left and right side. Follow this
procedure until the top of the headband rests on top of your head.

Set-up and Operation
1. Please allow at least 150 hours of constant use for break-in of your new
headphone to achieve best sound quality. Volume during the break-in period
does not have to be loud and you can enjoy the HE-300 as you would
normally.
2. To connect your headphones to an amplifier, please use the supplied
cabling. The mini-coax plug with the red dot goes to the right side marked
with R. (Depending on the cable in use, the cable itself can also show L and
R on the plugs.) Push the connector straight onto the socket and then use
your fingers to tighten the washer. When tightening, please make sure to
move the washer only and not the cable as such. A loose connection can
lead to drop outs and distortion. Repeat the process with the other mini-coax
connector.
3. To clean your headphone, please use a soft, slightly damp cloth only. Do not
use any detergents and since it is an open back design, make sure not to let
any fluid enter the open sides of the headphone. The leather headband can
be maintained using standard leather care products. Should your earpads
become worn and no longer offer a good fit with your head, you can replace
them with new ones which can be supplied from your dealer or from www.
head-direct.com.
4. Note: The internal drivers do not require maintenance. Any attempt to
remove, alter or modify them will void your warranty.
