Einführung
Dieser Quick-Start dient dazu, die Barcodescanner
CLV503/CLV505 schnell und einfach in Betrieb zu
nehmen. Von der werkseitigen Grundeinstellung aus-
gehend, können mit Hilfe von Kongurations-Barcodes
komfortabel die wichtigsten Parameterwerte zur An-
passung an die Applikation geändert werden.
Für die erweiterte Konguration steht unter
www.sick.com ein Online-Tool zur Verfügung, das die
eingestellte Konguration ebenfalls als Kongurations-
Barcodes ausgibt.
Produktinformation Mini Line bereit.
Introduction
This Quick Start allows rapid and effortless commis-
sioning of the CLV503/CLV505 bar code scanners.
Starting from the basic default settings, it is easy to
change the most important parameter values to adapt
to the application with the help of conguration bar
codes.
An online tool is available at www.sick.com for the ex-
panded conguration. This tool also provides the con-
guration in the form of conguration bar codes. Here,
too, a USB driver for the PC can be downloaded in
order to set up a Virtual Com Port (VCP) under USB. In
addition, the complete and more detailed documenta-
tion in the form of the Mini Line Bar Code Manual and
the Mini Line Product Information are available.

Damage to the eyes through laser radiation!
The bar code scanners operate with an red light la
-
ser of class 2. Looking at the laser‘s light path for a
longer period of time can damage the eye‘s retina.
The entire reading window is the LED radiation outlet
opening.
Caution – use of controls or adjustments or perform-
ance of procedures other than those specied herein
may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Never look directly into the light path (similar to
sun light).
Never direct the laser beam of the devices at the
eyes of persons.
When installing and aligning the bar code scan-
ners, avoid laser beam reflections from reflective
surfaces.
Do not open the housing. (Opening does not inter-
rupt the activation of the laser diode by the reading
pulsing.)
Always observe the latest valid version of laser pro-
tection regulations.
Important
The bar code scanners CLV503 / CLV505 operate with
a laser diode of wavelength λ = 650 nm (red light). The
radiation emitted is not harmful to human skin. The
products are classied in laser class 2 (laser class II)
in accordance with EN60825-1, IEC60825-1 and 21
CFR1040.10 (see the warning sign on the device for
the date of publication). Maintenance is not required
to ensure compliance with laser class 2. The bar code
scanner displays a black and yellow laser warning sign.
