pliance. This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations.
Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.

TIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord,
plugs or the appliance in water or other liquids.
3. This appliance may be used by children who are 8 years of
age or older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge,
if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use
of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.
4. Children younger than 8 years of age are to be kept away
from the appliance and the power cord.
5. Children may only attempt to carry out cleaning and mainte-
nance tasks on the appliance if they are at least 8 years old
and under supervision. Children younger than 8 must be kept
away from the appliance and its connection cable.

7. Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use and

Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
there is only one way this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet. If
the plug does not completely fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the
plug in any way.
A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord) should be
used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping
over a longer cord.
Additional safety instructions
Ensure that the appliance never comes into contact with water while the
plug is inserted into a power outlet, especially if you are using it in the
kitchen and close to the sink.
Ensure that the power cord never gets wet or damp when the appliance is
in use. Route the cord so that it cannot be trapped or damaged in any way.
Ensure that the appliance, the power cord, and the plug do not come into
contact with heat sources such as hotplates or naked flames.
Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cords to be replaced as soon as
possible by a qualified technician or by our customer service department to
avoid the risk of injury.
Never open the housing of the appliance.
Set up the appliance as close as possible to the electrical power socket.
Ensure that the power plug is quickly reachable in case of danger, and also
that there is no danger of tripping over the cord.
A fire may occur if the appliance is covered or touches flammable material,
including curtains, draperies, walls, etc., while in operation. Do not store
any item on top of the appliance while it is in operation.
Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and
touch electrical parts, causing a risk of electric shock
Provide a stable and heat-resistant location for the appliance.

Caution! Hot surface!
Hot steam can escape when opening the lid. It is therefore best to wear
oven mitts when opening the appliance.
Be careful when removing finished foods. The appliance and the foods it
produces are very hot.
Baked foods can burn! Never set up and use the appliance in the vicinity
of flammable objects, especially not under curtains.
Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote control system
to operate the appliance.
To protect the non-stick coating, do not use metallic tools such as knives,
forks, etc. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.
Operate the appliance only with the original accessories supplied.
Do not use aggressive detergents or pointy objects to clean the appliance.
Proper use
This appliance is only intended to make waffles, shaped waffles
and doughnuts.
This appliance is intended exclusively for use in domestic house-
holds. Not to be used for commercial purposes.

Package contents and initial inspection
RISK OF SUFFOCATION!
Packaging materials should not be used as a toy.
The appliance comes standard with the following components:
Waffle maker
2 changeable "waffle" plates
2 changeable "shaped waffle" plates
2 changeable "doughnut" plates
Operating instructions
1) Take all the parts out of the box.
2) Remove the packaging material and any protective wrapping.
Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.
If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result
of defective packaging or during transport, contact the customer
service hotline (see "3 year limited warranty" section).
If possible, keep the appliance’s original packaging during the
warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly for
return shipment in the event of a warranty claim.
Changing the plates
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Always disconnect the power plug from the socket before changing
the plates.
RISK OF INJURY!
Allow the appliance to cool before changing the plates! Risk of burns!
You can choose between 3 different changeable plate sets:
Changeable "doughnut" plates: to make doughnuts.
Changeable "waffle" plates: to make waffles.
Changeable "shaped waffle" plates: to prepare hollow,
shaped waffle-halves that can be filled and pressed together.

When inserting the "shaped waffle" plates, make sure to install the
top changeable plate in the top part of the appliance and the bottom
changeable plate in the bottom part of the appliance. Use the illustra-
tions on the foldout page as a reference.
Inserting the changeable plates
1) Open the appliance by unlocking the cover lock 0 and
opening the cover.
2) Top changeable plate: First, slide the bottom locking catches 8
into the bottom mounts 3.
3) Now, press the top locking catches 7 onto the locks 1 so
that the locking catches 7 move below the locks 1, securing
the changeable plate.
4) Bottom changeable plate: First, slide the rear locking catches 8
into the rear mounts 6.
5) Now, press the front locking catches 9 onto the locks 5 so
that the locking catches 9 move below the locks 5, securing
the changeable plate.
6) Strongly press the middle of the bottom changeable plate
once to make sure it has been inserted securely.
Removing the changeable plates
1) Top changeable plate: Move the locks 1 upward while
moving the changeable plate forward to lift it out of the
bottom mounts 3.
2) Bottom changeable plate: Move the locks 5 forward and lift
the changeable plate to remove it from the rear mounts 6.

Preparing
RISK OF FIRE!
Never place the appliance underneath wall cabinets or next to curtains,
cupboard walls or other flammable objects. Place the appliance only on
a heat-resistant surface.
RISK OF INJURY!
The appliance is hot during use! Do not touch hot surfaces.
Use handles or knobs.
Allow the appliance to cool before changing the plates! Risk of burns!
Perform the following procedure with each of the 3 changeable
plate sets.
Rub the non-stick coating of the changeable plates with oil
suitable for cooking.
Insert one set of changeable plates into the appliance.
Connect the power plug to a power socket.
Close the appliance and lock it with the cover lock 0.
Allow the appliance to warm up for approximately 10 minutes.
During first use, you may notice a slight smell (there may also be
minimal smoke). This is normal and dissipates after a short time.
Ensure sufficient ventilation. For instance, by opening a window.
Disconnect the power plug and allow the appliance to cool
down.
Clean the changeable plates and the appliance as described
in the chapter "Cleaning".
The appliance is now ready for use.

Operation

The appliance is hot during use! Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles
or knobs.
Making shaped waffles
Never use two different changeable plates at once.
1) Choose the changeable "shaped waffles" plates and insert
them. When inserting the plates, make sure to install the top
changeable plate in the top part of the appliance and the
bottom changeable plate in the bottom part.
2) Close the lid and lock it with the cover lock 0.
3) Connect the power plug to a power socket. The red "Power"
indicator light w lights up.
4) Once the appliance is warmed up, the green "Ready" indicator
light q lights up.
5) Unlock the cover lock 0, open the cover and add about
1/2 teaspoon batter (for recipes for shaped waffles, see
the "Recipes" section) to each of the shapes in the bottom
changeable plate.
Make sure to distribute the batter across all parts of the shape.
Otherwise, parts of the shape will not be filled in.
6) Close the appliance and lock it with the cover lock 0.
Only remove the shaped waffles with a plastic or wooden spoon
or another suitable, non-metal object to avoid damaging the
appliance's non-stick coating.
7) The shaped waffles are done after about 3 to 4 minutes.
Unlock the cover lock 0, open the cover and remove the
shaped waffles.

8) If you don't wish to make any more shaped waffles, disconnect
the power plug from the socket.
9) Allow the shaped waffles to cool a bit and cut off extra batter
from the edges of the shaped waffles using a knife (trim).
10) Fill the shaped waffles as desired. Spread a bit of the filling
on the edge of the shaped waffles and place the matching
piece on top so both halves stick together, forming a hollow
figure.
Making waffles/doughnuts
Never use two different changeable plates at once.
1) Choose the changeable "waffles" or "doughnuts" plates and
insert them.
2) Close the lid and lock it with the cover lock 0.
3) Connect the power plug to a power socket. The red "Power"
indicator light w lights up.
4) Once the appliance is warmed up, the green "Ready" indicator
light q lights up.
5) Open the cover and add about 2-3 heaped tablespoons
of waffle batter to the middle of each waffle form or fill the
doughnut forms on the bottom changeable plate with as much
doughnut batter as needed to fill the respective shape.
6) Close the appliance and lock it with the cover lock 0.
Only remove the waffles/doughnuts with a plastic or wooden
spoon or another suitable, non-metal object to avoid damaging
the appliance's non-stick coating.
7) The waffles are done after around 5 minutes, while doughnuts
are finished within 3 minutes. These times may vary depend-
ing on the batter and personal taste. Unlock the cover lock 0,
open the cover and remove the waffles/doughnuts.
8) If you don't wish to make any more waffles/doughnuts, dis-
connect the power plug from the socket.

Cleaning
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Always disconnect the power plug from the socket before cleaning the
appliance.
Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
Risk of death by electric shock!
RISK OF INJURY!
Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and wait until it has cooled
down completely.
Do not use any sharp objects or abrasive cleaning agents. They will
damage the surfaces of the appliance.
Never wash the changeable plates or appliance in the dish washer!
Clean the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Remove the changeable plates, wash them in warm water and
add a bit of detergent.
If the area with the heating coils 2 4 below the changeable
plates has been contaminated with any grease or foods, pro-
ceed as follows:
Dab off any grease or other liquids with a paper towel.
Remove burnt-in residues with a wooden spatula or a small
wooden skewer.
Dry all parts well before using the appliance again.
It is best to clean the appliance as soon as it has cooled down.
This makes food residues easier to remove.

Storage
Clean the appliance as described in the chapter on "Cleaning".
Wrap the cord around the cord retainer e and secure the end
with the cord clip:
Store the appliance in a dry location.

Recipes
Waffles
Ingredients:
9 oz (250 g) margarine or butter
7 oz (200 g) sugar
2 packets of vanilla sugar
5 eggs
18 oz (500 g) flour
2 tsp baking powder
1.5 - 1.7 cups (350 - 400 ml) milk
1) Cream the eggs.
2) Add the sugar and vanilla sugar, then mix.
3) Add the melted butter or margarine.
4) Stir in the baking powder.
5) Continue stirring and gradually add the milk and the flour,
alternating between the two.
6) Mix all of this at the highest level using your hand mixer until a
smooth batter forms.

Chocolate waffles
Ingredients:
5 oz (150 g) butter, softened
3 eggs
5 oz (150 g) sugar
3.5 oz (100 g) white chocolate, grated
9 oz (250 g) flour
1 tsp cinnamon
0.2 cups (50 ml) milk
1) Cream the eggs.
2) Add the sugar and cinnamon, then mix.
3) Add the melted butter or margarine.
4) Continue stirring and gradually add the milk and the flour,
alternating between the two.
5) Finally, add the grated chocolate.
6) Mix all of this at the highest level using your hand mixer until
a smooth batter forms.

Basic batter for shaped waffles
Ingredients:
14 oz (400 g) flour
3.5 oz (100 g) sugar
3.5 oz (100 g) butter, softened
2 eggs
0.4 cups (100 ml) milk
¼ tsp baking powder
1) Mix the butter, sugar and eggs.
2) Mix the flour with the baking powder, then add it to the
other mixture.
3) Add the milk.
4) Mix all of this at the highest level using your hand mixer.
You can fill your shaped waffles with a wide variety of ingredi-
ents:
For example, jam, frosting, hazelnut cocoa spread, pudding,
yogurt, apple sauce, caramel, whipped cream, or you can
even go savory with different cream cheeses, aioli, tzatziki,
melted Gouda, etc.
You can also coat the shaped waffles with chocolate or icing,
or sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
