ASKOMA AHFR-H-C Series are flange heaters with a diameter of 180mm. These water immersion heaters are suitable for industrial applications as well as heating water in heating systems. The device has a temperature control knob that allows the user to set the desired temperature between 0 and 85 °C. For added safety, the device includes a safety temperature limiter that trips if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold. The device is intended for fixed electrical connection only, and the electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

onagainifnecessary.Ifyouonlywantfrostproteconwhenyouareonholiday,youcanturntherota-
ryknobtotherequiredposion().

openingmarked"Reset".Thiscannotbedoneunlthetemperaturehascooleddownbyapprox.10K.

For safety reasons, the device may not be installed from above or
below.
The device must be installed horizontally and ensure that the
"TOP" label point is upwards.
Make sure that the heang tubes are enrely covered with liquid before placing into operaon.
Thecirculaonoftheliquidshallnotbeinhibited.
Important information
Ifaheatexchangerisfiedinthesametank,thecontrollermustlimitthetemperaturecausedbythe
heatexchangerto85°C.Thispreventsthesafetytemperaturelimiteroftheflangeheatertripping.
Safety temperature limiter
Thesafetytemperaturelimitermaytripattemperatureslowerthanapprox.–15°C(e.g.transporta-
onorstorage).Ifthishappens,presstheresetbuon.Seetheseconintendedforexpertsintheuser
manual.
The device may only be used to heat water.
Corrosion protection
Pleasenote:
Thisheangelementisapplicableinstainlesssteelboileraswellasinblacksteel/blacksteelenam-
elledboilers.SelectthesengsviaDIPswitchaccordingtotheboilertype.
Foraninstallaonoftheheangelementintoblacksteelorblacksteelenamelledboilers,theredslide
switch(DIPswitch)hastobeleinposion“2”(factoryseng).
When installing the heang element into a stainless steel or chromesteelboiler,theslideswitch
(DIPswitch)hastobeswitchedtoposion“ON”.
Incaseofdisregardcorrosiondamagesondeviceandboilercouldbecaused.

Electrical connection
Thedeviceisintendedforfixedconnecononlyandmaybeconnectedonlytofixedcables.Selecta
cablecross-seconsuitableforthepowerrangofthedevice.Allpolesofthedevicemustbeableto
bedisconnectedfromthemainsbymeansofanatleast3mmisolangdistance.ThePEwiremustbe
100mmlongerthantheotherconductors.
