Practical hints
-
When cutting a loaf of bread where the
crust is thicker or harder on one side, it
should be placed against the blade in
such a way that the firm side is facing the
blade.
-
When cutting cheese or very thin slices of
other foods, use a slightly damp cloth to
moisten the blade before cutting. This
will make the slicing process easier.
-
When cutting ham, ensure that the fatty
side is facing upwards.
Cleaning and care
Clean the slicer before using it for the first
time, or after a long period of non-use.
General
● To prevent perishable food particles
from collecting in the slicer, clean it
thoroughly after use.
● Always remove the plug from the wall
socket before cleaning the slicer or
detaching any accessories.
● Wait until the motor has come to a
complete standstill. Bring the stop plate
to its rest position so that the blade does
not protrude.
● To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do
not immerse it in liquid of any kind.
● Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions. If necessary, the housing may
be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free
cloth. The end-piece holder can be
cleaned using hot water and a mild
detergent (do not put it in a dish-washer).
Detaching and cleaning the blade
● Caution: the blade is extremely sharp.
Beware of injury.
The stainless-steel blade can be cleaned with
a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
The area behind the blade should also be
cleaned occasionally, using a slightly damp
cloth. To detach the blade, use a suitable
coin to turn the central locking screw of the
blade 90° in a clockwise direction.
When re-fitting the blade, follow these
instructions in reverse order.
When changing a blade, the locking screw
must be placed through the centre of the
new blade.
Detaching the stop plate
For thorough cleaning, the stop plate can be
removed.
However, to prevent the risk of injury,
always remove the blade first. Turn the
thickness selection knob to its release mark.
From this position, the stop plate can be
pulled out sideways. When re-fitting the stop
plate, the selection knob must be in the same
position.
Power cord storage
During periods of non-use, the power cord
may be wound up underneath the appliance.
Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective
appliances in domestic garbage;
this should only be done through
public collection points.
