various high pressure cleaningapplications.
C- Air Filter -- Protects engine by filtering dust and debris
out of intakeair.
D - HighPressure Outlet -- Connectionfor high pressure
hose.
E- Warning/Operating Instructions Tag-- identifies hazards

AssemblingYourPressurePusher
Your Craftsmanpressure washerwill needassembly before
operation:
1. Fill out and sendin registration card.
2. Attach handle.
3. Add oil to engine crankcase.
4. Add fuel to fuel tank.
5. Verify pump oil dipstick (A) has beeninstalled into pump.
6. Connectpressure hose to spray gun andpump.
7. Connectwater suppiyto pump.
8. Attach nozzleextensionto spray gun.
9. Select/attach quick connect spray tip to nozzle
extension.
AttachHandle
1. Placehandle (B) onto handlesupports (C) connectedto
main unit. Makesure holes (B) in handle alignwith
holes (B) on handlesupports.
NOTICE It may be necessaryto move the handle supports
from side to side in order to align the handleso it will slide
over the handle supports.
2. insert carriagebolts (E)through holesfrom outside of
unit and attach a plastic knob (F) from insideof unit.
Tighten by hand.
3. insert multi-colored spray tips in spaces provided in
handle.

1. Placepressurewasher on aflat, levelsurface.
2. Cleanareaaround oil fill and remove oil fill cap/dipstick.

3. Using oil funnel (optional), slowly pour contents of both
provided oil bottles intooil fill opening to the point of
overflowing. 3.

4. Replaceoil fill cap/dipstick and fully tighten.
Add Fuel

WHEN ADDINGFUEL
* Turn pressure washerOFFand let it cool at least2 minutes
before removing fuel cap. Loosen capslowly to relievepressure
in tank.
Fill fuel tank outdoors.
* DONOToverfill tank. Allow spacefor fuel expansion.
* If fuel spills, wait until it evaporatesbefore starting engine.
* Keepfuel awayfrom sparks, open flames, pilot lights, heat,and
other ignition sources.
* DONOTlight a cigarette or smoke.
Use clean,fresh, regular UNLEADEDfuel with a
minimum of 86 octanewith equipment. DONOTmix oil
with fuel.
Placepressure washeron a levelsurface. Cleanarea
around fuel fill cap, remove cap.
Slowly add regular unleadedfuel to fuel tank. Becareful
not to overfill. Allow about 1" of tankspace for fuel
expansion,as shown here.

4. install fuel capand wait for any spilled fuel to evaporate.
CAUTION!Alcohol-blendedfuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or
methanol) can attract moisture, which leadsto separation and
formation of acids during storage.Acidic gascan damagethe
fuel system of an enginewhile in storage.
To avoidengine problems, the fuel system should betreated
with a fuel preserver or emptied before storage of 30 days or
longer, if adding a fuel preserver,fill thefuel tank with fresh
fuel. if only partially filled, air in the tank will promote fuel
deterioration during storage, if fuel preserver is not used,
drain the fuel tank, start the engine andlet it run until the fuel
lines and carburetor are empty. Usefresh fuel next season.

NEVERuseengine or carburetor cleanerproducts in the fuel
tank as permanent damagemay occur.
Connect Hose and Water Supply to Pump
NOTICE DONOTrun the pump without the water supply
connectedand turned on.
* Damagetoequipmentresultingfrom failuretofollowthis
instructionwillvoidwarranty.
4. Runwater through garden hosefor 30 secondsto clean
out any debris. Turn off water.
NOTICE DONOTsiphon standing water for the water
supply. Use ONLYcold water (less than 100°F).
5. Connectgarden hose(not to exceed50 feet in length) to
water inlet.Tighten by hand.
NOTICE Removeand discard the shipping caps from the
pump's high pressure outlet and water inlet before attaching
hoses.
1. Uncoil high pressure hose and attachquick connect end
of hoseto baseof spray gun. Pull down on collar of
quick connect, slide onto spray gun andlet go of collar.
Tug on hoseto be sure of tight connection.
NOTICE Using a OneWay Valve (vacuumbreakeror check
valve) at pump inlet can cause pump or inlet connector
damage.
ThereMUSTbeatleasttenfeetofunrestrictedgardenhose
betweenthepressurewasherinletandanydevice,suchasa
vacuumbreakeror checkvalve.
* Damageto equipment resultingfrom failure to follow this
instruction will void warranty.

inlet screen (B). Cleanscreen if it contains debris or have
it replacedif damaged.DONOTrunpressurewasher if
inlet screenisdamaged or missing.

6. Turn ONthe water, press red button (C) on the gun and
squeezethe trigger to purge the pump system of air and
impurities.

2. Makesure handleis in placeand secure.
3. Makesure shipping capwas removed and oil dipstick
was installed in pump.
4. Checkthat oil has beenadded to proper levelin engine
crankcase.
5. Add proper fuel to fuel tank.
6. Checkfor properly attachedhoseconnections.
7. Checkto make surethere are no kinks, cuts, or damage
to high pressure hose.
8. Providea proper water supply atan adequateflow.

ToStart YourPressureWasher
To start your engine-poweredpressure washer for the first
time, follow these instructions step-by-step. This starting
information alsoapplies wheneveryou start the engine after
you haveletthe pressure washer sit idle for at least a day.
1. Placepressurewashernearan outsidewater source
capableof supplyingwater ata flow rategreaterthan
5.0 gallonsper minuteand no lessthan20 PSiat pressure
washerend of gardenhose.
2. Checkthat high pressure hose is tightly connectedto
spray gun and pump. SeeAssembly for illustrations.

How to Use Spray Tips
The quick-connect on the nozzleextension allows you to
switch betweenfour different quick connect spray tips. Spray
tips can be changedwhile pressurewasher is running once
spray gun trigger lock is engaged.Thespray tips vary the

5. Cleanpaper air filter element by tapping filter on a hard
surfaceto remove dirt, or blow compressed air (not
exceeding30 psi) through filter elementfrom inside.
NOTICE NEVERtry to brush off dirt; brushing will force dirt
into fibers.
6. Cleanfoam air filter element in warm soapy water, rinse
and allow to dry thoroughly. Or clean in nonflammable
solvent and allow to dry. Dip foam filter elementin clean
engine oil, then squeezeout all excessoil.
NOTICE Enginewill smoke when started if too much oil is
left in foam.
7. Using a moist rag,wipe dirt from insideof air cleaner
baseand cover. Becareful to prevent dirt from entering
air duct that leadsto the carburetor.
8. Placefoam air filter element over paper elementand
reinstall assembledair filter. Besure gasket is in place
beneathair filter. Tighten air filter wing nut securely.
9. Install air cleanercover and tighten cover wing nut
securely.

ServiceSparkPlug
Checkand adjustthe spark plug every 100hours of
operation or yearly,whichever occurs first. Replacethe spark
plug every 300 hours of operation or yearly, whichever
occurs first.
1. Cleanarea around spark plug.
2. Removeand inspect spark plug.
3. Replacespark plug if electrodesare worn, or if insulator
is cracked or chipped.
4. Checkelectrodegap with wire feeler gaugeand set gap
at 0.028-0.031 inches (0.70-0.80 mm), if necessary.
5. install spark plug, tighten securely.
NOTICE You can purchasea new spark plug by calling

inspectthe muffler for cracks,corrosion, or otherdamage.
Removethe sparkarrester,if equipped,and inspectfor
damageor carbonblockage,if replacementparts are required,
makesureto useonly original equipment replacementparts.

Allow equipmentto cool beforetouching.
Keepat least5 feet (152 cm) of clearanceon all sidesof
pressure washer including overhead.
It isa violation of California Public Resource Code,Section
4442, to use or operatethe engine on anyforest-covered,
brush-covered,or grass-covered land unless the exhaust
system is equippedwith aspark arrester,as definedin Section
4442, maintained in effectiveworking order. Otherstates or
federal jurisdictions may havesimilar laws.
Contactthe original equipment manufacturer, retailer, or dealer
to obtain a sparkarrester designed for the exhaustsystem
installedon this engine.
Replacementparts must bethe sameand installed in the same
position as the original parts.
Cleanand inspectthe sparkarrester asfollows:
1. Removethetwo 8 mm nuts (A) and remove muffler (B)
from cylinder.
2. Removethe three4 mm screws (C) from exhaust
deflector (D), and remove deflector.
3. Removethe four 5 mm screws (E) from muffler
protector (F) and remove muffler protector.
4. Remove4 mm screws (6) from spark arrester(H) and
remove spark arresterfrom muffler.
5. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from spark
arrestor screen. Becareful to avoid damagingscreen.
NOTICE Thespark arrestor screen must be free of breaks
and holes. Replacespark arrestor if it is damaged.
6. install spark arrestor, muffler protector, exhaust
deflector and muffler in reverseorder of disassembly.
Sediment Cup Cieanin9
1. Move fuel valve to "Off" position, then remove fuel
sediment cup (J) and o-ring (K).
Wash sediment cup and o-ring in nonflammable solvent.
Dry thoroughly.
Placeo-ring in fuel valveand install sediment cup.
Tighten sediment cup securely.
Move fuel valve to "On" position and checkfor leaks.
Replaceo-ring if there is any leakage.
