Interfaces
Two interface slots can be used to plug in the following exchangeable modules as required:
RS232 interface (Service / on Board): to connect a modem or PC. The length of the cable must
not exceed 15m.
The RS232 can be use for error analysis of the devices connected (Rx signal).
Note: At the RS232 interface is possible to connect one device only: at the terminals
(Tx / GND / Rx) or at the service plug!
Note: Don’t use open (not connected) RS232 cables (antenna effect!).
M-Bus interface: (plug-in module: passive or active) for connection to the M-Bus cable. The
length of the cable can go up to 10km, depending on the cable and the number of devices
connected to it.
For small M-Bus systems the converter box can also be used as MiniMaster (M-Bus-Repeater) if
not more than 20 devices are connected: from RS232 (Service / on Board) to M-Bus (active).
RS485 interface (plug-in module: 2 or 4 wires): for connection to the RS485 bus. The length of
the cable must not exceed 1,2km and the maximum number of devices is limited to 32 within the
bus segment.
20mA/CS current loop (plug-in module: passive or active). The length of the cable must not
exceed 1km. Up to 3 devices can be connected to the bus segment.
The following conversions are possible:

LED
Three LEDs display the current operating status:
Signals that the device is supplied with power
Transmit data (OUT): lights when data is transferred
Receive data (OUT): lights when data is transferred
