AudioBahn ALUM10M is a high-performance subwoofer designed to deliver deep, powerful bass in a variety of applications.

With its aluminum voice coil former, extended pole piece, and vented oversized back plate, the ALUM10M can handle high power levels without distortion. The 4-layer, edge wound voice coil design allows for a variety of impedance loads to be configured. The 1.75” EPDM surround is resilient to temperature variations and provides consistent support for the linear motion of the speaker cone. The flat spider provides symmetrical control of the voice coil through its cone excursion, reducing harmonic distortion for improved sound quality.

oice Coil Former
The voice coil former is black, anodized aluminum for highly efcient thermal transfer. This
allows winding high temperature copper wire in multiple layers for improved efciency. This
allows improved power handling by effectively dissipating heat.
Extended Pole Piece
The pole piece has been extended to provide a more linear magnetic eld for the operation
of the woofer. This lowers distortion and provides the woofer with better low frequency
response.
Vented Oversized Back Plate
The back plate has been stepped deeper to allow the woofer more excursion without bot-
toming out. Additionally, the back plate is vented with a radius aerodynamic back vent which
efciently and quickly circulates cool air around the voice coil. This allows for more excursion
and higher power handling without damaging the sub.
Voice Coil
The 4-Layer, edge wound voice coil design of the speaker allows for a variety of impedance
loads to be congured when matched with multiple subs. Please continue to the wiring
diagram portion of this manual for possible congurations you can run. The Alum subs have a
dual 2 ohm voice coil operation.
EPDM Surround
The 1.75” EPDM surround is resilient to temperature variations and provides the consistent
support necessary for the linear motion of the speaker cone. In addition, the inherent damp-
ing capabilities eliminate the transmission of sonic disturbances between the cone and the
frame of the speaker. This greatly improves the clarity of the speakers frequency response.
Flat Spider
The speaker linear compliance is balanced trough the use of a at spider design. A at
spider provides symmetrical control of the voice coil through it’s cone excursion. Linear cone
excursion reduces harmonic distortion for improved sound quality. This allows for reduced
mechanical distortion for better sound quality.
