Overview
1 . Make
sure
to
disconnect
your
vehicle's
battery
before
installing the iPod kit
(A-DU0-100-BMW, A-MBR-1500-BMW).
Failure to do so may result
in
damage
to electrical components. The integration kit may not function
or
will function
improperly if the battery is not disconnected before installation.
Disconnecting
the fuse is not the same as disconnecting the battery.
2.
Check
to
confirm
the
vehicle
has
the
DSP (Digital
Signal
Processing)
amplifier
system.
-
To
confirm the vehicle has
DSP
look for a bare metal coax cable and a 3-pin
connector.
See Illustration
A for cable location
in
various BMW models.
If
you
DO NOT find a coax cable and find a 6-pin and a 3-pin connector instead, then
the vehicle is not equipped with
DSP
and does not
require the use
of
this
DSP
converter*.
-
If
the vehicle has a factory CO-changer
installed
check the connections for a
·
coax and 3-pin input.
If
the CO-changer has a 3-pin and 6-pin input, the
vehicle is not equipped with. DSP
and does not require the use
of
this
DSP
converter.
*There are rare exceptions where all
three
connectors
are
present.
In
this
case
you must verify wether the coax or
6-pin
is
enabled for audio.
