5 Choose how you will connect from the router to

6 To make a wired connection from the cable modem to the
router and then to your your PS3 system, you will need
two Ethernet cables. Each end of these cables
should look like the image shown here. >>>
Unlike a phone cord, Ethernet cables:
-Areusuallyrounded(notat)
- Have eight tiny slots on each end (not four)
- May have the words “CAT 5” on the cable
7 Look at the back of your modem for a connection port
that looks like the image shown here. >>>
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable into this port.
8 On the back of the router, look for a set of
connection ports like the image shown here. >>>
Typically, you will see a port on one end labeled
0 (zero), WAN or WLAN. Insert the remaining
end of the Ethernet cable coming from the
modem into this port. The remaining ports are
usually labeled 1 through 4. Connect one end of
the second Ethernet cable into an available port.
9 On the back of your PS3 there is a similar port
that looks like the image shown here. >>>
Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into this port.
10 Locate the power cord and insert the end shown here >>>
into the PS3 system.
11 Once everything is hooked up, you can plug the other end
of the power cord into the wall.
WARNING: Do not plug PS3 into a power source until all other connections are complete!
