Introduction
Introduction
These instructions detail the components and procedures required to retrofit selected models of Tannoy CMS and CVS ceiling speakers
into pre-existing installations using competitor backcans, or with pre-existing ceiling holes that are oversized for the intended Tannoy
replacements. Use of the Retrofit Adapter
Kits allows upgrading to the improved performance of Tannoy ceiling loudspeakers without the
added costs and installation time required to replace backcans or ceiling tiles.
Kit A and Kit B Distinction
Two di erent kits are o ered. Kit A is for smaller diameter loudspeakers (CMS 5 and CVS 4), while Kit B is for larger diameter loudspeakers
(CMS 6 and CVS 6). Adapter Rings are di erent diameters, only Kit A has an Adapter Plate, and
Kit B contains an additional clamp adapter.
See the following Compatibility Matrix to determine the proper kit for your application.
Part Numbers
Kit A = 8001 8210
Kit B = 8001 8215
Compatibility Matrix
CMS 503 also applies to CVS 4
CMS 603 also applies to CVS 6
Max ceiling hole size for Kit A and B is 311 mm (12 ¼ ")
