This user manual will help you get to know your THERA-Trainer better. It will safely guide you through all
functions and control options and provide you with tips and information on how to use your new exerciser
best.
Before starting the unit for the first time, please read and observe chapter 2 “Safety and dangers”.
If you have any further questions or comments, your trained supplier will be happy to help.

2. SAFETY AND DANGERS
Dangers
Before beginning the training, consult a doctor or therapist to clarify whether
users with cardiovascular diseases are allowed to exercise with the THERA-
Trainer coro.
Only exercise under supervision of a trained assistant.
Ensure that belt buckles audibly click into place.
In case of possible infection due to contaminated attachments/optional parts,
always wear personal protective equipment (gloves, mask) when cleaning
THERA-Trainer coro.
Warning
Observe the user manual.
Disinfect THERA-Trainer coro before every training.
Regularly check screws for firm seat.
Always use the THERA-Trainer coro with pelvic safety strap or fall protection
belt incl. seat board, if an assistant is not available to prevent falling.
In case of damage, malfunctions, etc. to the THERA-Trainer coro, contact the
trained supplier immediately.
Before every training with a pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat
board, ensure that these are properly put on and secured.
Before every training with a simple knee support, ensure that this is properly
secured.
Before every training, ensure that the balance unit is functioning properly.
Service or repair work is only to be carried out by trained suppliers.
Caution
Prior to the initial start-up, have the specialist dealer, doctor or therapist show
you or your assistant how to use the product.
Before starting the training, consult a doctor or therapist and clarify whether
THERA-Trainer coro can be used without assistance.
Set spring resistance of the THERA-Trainer coro to fit the user's activity, height
and body weight.
If any symptoms of illness occur during or after the training, consult a doctor
immediately.
Select range of movement according to the user's therapy goals.
Use THERA-Trainer coro only in undamaged and functional condition.
Use THERA-Trainer coro on even and slip-proof floor.
The manufacturer recommends only using the THERA-Trainer coro with clo-
sed footwear (user and assistant).
Ensure that no fingers get jammed when making adjustments to the THERA-
Trainer coro.
Ensure that before stepping into the THERA-Trainer coro all double steering
castors are blocked.
Ensure that before and during the training, the tread unit does not get wet.
Ensure that before stepping into the THERA-Trainer coro the balance function
is locked.
Do not use THERA-Trainer coro to transport persons.
Only use control and display unit/computer with undamaged and functioning
cables.
Always supervise children during training.
Keep animals and playing children away from THERA-Trainer coro.

Use exclusively cleaning agents and disinfectants approved by the manufactu-
rer.

INTENDED USE
3. INTENDED USE
The THERA-Trainer coro is a training device to train the postural control of users
with minor physical and/or mental impairments, with neurological, age-associated
and chronic degenerative diseases, which result in limitations.
The THERA-Trainer coro is suitable:
For users whose ability level (Functional Ambulation Categories [FAC]) corre-
spond to levels 2-4.
For users with balance or coordination disorders in standing position.
As training device for postural control.
For mobilization of the user in a fall protection exercise environment.
To improve the transfer of weight to the affected leg(s), through task-oriented
exercise in standing position.
To improve standing symmetry and balance regulation through task-oriented
exercise.
To improve proactive and anticipatory balance through task-oriented exercise
in the status.
To improve reactive balance through task-oriented exercise in standing posi-
tion.
To improve somato-sensation and body image through task-oriented exercise
in standing position.
To treat structural deficits in the lower extremities (mobility in the ankle),
through daily exercises.
For maintaining or improving mobility and muscle power.
For stimulating metabolism and circulation.
For the use in facilities (e.g. clinics, homes, therapy practices, etc.) and at
home.
For the user whose height is between 135 - 200 cm.
For users whose body weight is less than 140 kg.
The THERA-Trainer coro is a medical device according to the medical devices
direvtive. The intended use includes the treatment of the device as a medical
device.
3.1. Indications
Use the THERA-Trainer coro exclusively for:
Users who can place some weight on the lower extremities.
Users who are capable of actively performing movement transitions from sit-
ting to standing independently, if necessary with support.
Users with sufficient cardiovascular fitness.
Users with slight to moderate paresis.
A supervised training (with assistant).
Using the THERA-Trainer coro exclusively for independent training:
If users are capable of standing and can straighten the torso.
If users are capable of operating the THERA-Trainer coro without assistance.
If the user can secure himself in the THERA-Trainer coro (at least put on the
pelvic safety strap or the fall protection belt incl. seat board).
If it is ensured, that a trained assistant supervises the training.
If it is ensured, that there is no danger of unconsciousness or weakness during
the training.

INTENDED USE
Use the THERA-Trainer coro for training with the help of an assistant:
For users who do not fulfil the requirements for an independent training.
For users who are in need of the simple knee support to secure the knee.
For fall protection, if no pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat board
is used.
To guarantee a fall-safe system:
Use pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat board.
For users who are weak or prone to falling, use the simple knee support.
Also use the simple knee support for users who cannot stand for a long time.
Before starting the training, consult a doctor or therapist and clarify whether
THERA-Trainer coro can be used without assistance.
Users
Persons who train with the THERA-Trainer coro.
The user:
Must be able to place some weight on his lower extremities.
Must be able to stand and actively straighten upper body.
Requires instruction by qualified personnel before training with the THERA-
Trainer coro.
When exercising by himself, bears full responsibility for ensuring that the
THERA-Trainer coro is used safely and correctly.
Before the first training:
Be instructed by a trained supplier, doctor or therapist on how to use the pro-
duct.
Clarify with a doctor or therapist whether the user is capable to train with the
THERA-Trainer coro independently and without supervision.
Specialised staff
Persons who gained their skills and expertise by means of professional trai-
ning in the medical or medical-technical sector (e.g. doctors, therapists, trained
suppliers).
Persons who due to their professional experience and by means of instruction/
training by the manufacturer are able to assess safety-relevant regulations and
recognise potential risks in their field of work (e.g. assistants).
The specialised staff:
Operates the THERA-Trainer coro and makes settings.
Must be trained in the safe operation of the THERA-Trainer coro at regular
intervals.
3.2. Instruction
Observe the user manual!
Before the first start up:
Instruction by a person trained by the manufacturer.
Consult a doctor or therapist to determine whether exercise with the THERA-
Trainer coro is possible without supervision.
Have an assistant instructed by a person trained by the manufacturer.

FORESEEABLE MISUSE
3.3. Biocompatibility
All components and options of the THERA-Trainer coro the user will touch when
using the unit as intended are designed to meet the biocompatibility requirements
of the applicable standards.
For any questions, contact a trained supplier.
4. FORESEEABLE MISUSE
The THERA-Trainer coro is not suitable for:
Diagnosis

4.1. Contraindications
Do not use the THERA-Trainer coro for the following:
users with a body weight over 140 kg.
users shorter than 135 cm.
users taller than 200 cm.
users with serious contractures.
users with ulcers or raw skin that would touch the unit
(if in doubt, seek medical advice).
users with extreme osteoporosis.
users with imperfect osteogenesis (Osteogenesis imperfecta).
users with unstable circulation.
e. g. due to being bedridden for a lengthy time
users who cannot place some weight on the lower extremities.
users with cardiovascular problems:

Exercise under supervision
4.2. Misuse
Do not use the THERA-Trainer coro:
in combination with other products emitting ionising radiation
(e.g. radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, etc.).
in rooms with
explosive substances
oxygenated air
in the presence of
flammable anaesthetics
volatile solvents
for outdoor exercise.
in ambient conditions not conforming to the requirements.
for transport (e. g. of the user).
for unsupervised exercise, if the user cannot operate the THERA-Trainer coro
without assistance.
4.3. Side effects
In rare cases:
In some cases more pain (stress-related pain)
Injuries of the skin (e.g. decubitus)
Pressure sores
No other side effects are known.

The THERA-Trainer coro comes with individual options. This user manual
describes all options available for the THERA-Trainer coro. Depending on the
model, the user manual may include options not featured by the THERA-Trainer
coro. If options for the THERA-Trainer coro are not described in the user manual,
an appendix is included.

START-UP
7. START-UP
7.1. Unpacking
Unpack the THERA-Trainer coro:
Remove the THERA-Trainer coro from packaging.
Check the THERA-Trainer coro incl. all accessories/options for transport
damage.
Check if delivery is complete.
Inform supplier or forwarding agent immediately of any damage.
7.2. Set-up conditions
Ensure that the following requirements are met:
Temperature: 5 °C - 40 °C
Humidity: 15 % - 93 % Rh
Air pressure: 700 hPa - 1,060 hPa
Do not use the THERA-Trainer coro in wet, humid or hot environments.
Only use the THERA-Trainer coro on even and slip-proof floors.
Do not use the THERA-Trainer coro outside or in outdoor facilities.
7.3. Installing the THERA-Trainer coro
Connect feedback sensor type A incl. touch button
Clip the feedback sensor A incl. touch button into the fixing set for THERA-
Trainer coro.
Switch on the feedback sensor type A incl. touch button.
Plug Bluetooth receiver for sensors 2 into the USB interface 1 of the control
and display unit/computer.
The USB interfaces 1 are located on the rear, side, top, or on the bottom of the
control and display unit/computer.
Comply with the enclosed user manual.

7.4. Transport THERA-Trainer coro
Exclusively transport THERA-Trainer coro with double steering castors.
Before transport ensure,
that the THERA-Trainer coro is on the double steering castors.
the balance function is blocked.
that the removable parts are secured.
7.5. Start-up
Unpack THERA-Trainer coro.
Check THERA-Trainer coro for damage.
Set-up THERA-Trainer coro at a suitable installation place.
Block all four double steering castors.
Mount attachments, according to the user manual.
Following the start-up, the THERA-Trainer coro is ready for operation.
8. OPERATION
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrect transport!
Do not use THERA-Trainer coro as training device in transport status.
Never use the THERA-Trainer coro to transport users.
DANGER!
Risk of infection due to contaminated THERA-Trainer coro!
Wear gloves when cleaning and disinfecting.
Observe general precautions to prevent users from being exposed to blood-borne
pathogens.
Wear personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, lab coats) when contact to bodily
fluids such as saliva, blood, semen or vaginal secretion is likely to occur.
No direct patient contact by health care professionals who have weeping wounds or
skin inflammations.
When having direct patient contact as a health care professional who has weeping
wounds or skin inflammations, wear appropriate protective clothing (gloves, scrub
caps, etc.).
After every training or before every training, disinfect the THERA-Trainer coro as well
as all options.
WARNING!
Riskof injury due to insufficient protection!
If necessary, secure legs with simple knee support.
Always use the THERA-Trainer coro pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat
board, if an assistant is not available to prevent falling.
A fall-safe system of the THERA-Trainer coro occurs when a pelvic safety strap or fall
protection belt incl. seat board, is used. Simple knee support must be used, if the user
is weak or prone to falling.

OPERATION
8.1. Exercise preparation
Double steering castors
Secure the THERA-Trainer coro from rolling off:
Before every training, lock all four double steering castors.
Push down locking lever on the double steering castors.
Release double steering castors
To transport THERA-Trainer coro:
Push down locking lever on the double steering castors.
8.2. Upper pipe frame
Setting the height of the upper pipe frame
A pneumatic spring supports the height adjustment.
The marks on the vertical pipe of the balance unit facilitate horizontal adjustment
and adapt the THERA-Trainer coro to the individual requirements of the user.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to tipping over or slipping of the THERA-Trainer coro!
Place THERA-Trainer coro on even and slip-proof floor.
Ensure that all four double steering castors are blocked.
Place chair/wheelchair on even and slip-proof floor.
When using a chair/wheelchair, ensure that castors are locked.
WARNING!
Risk of injury through insufficient preparation!
Check the balance unit for damage before the training.
Ensure that the pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat board are not dama-
ged, if these are used.
Ensure that all four double steering castors are blocked.
Ensure that the pelvic safety strap or fall protection belt incl. seat board are put on
properly and are securely fastened with belt buckles, if this is used.
Ensure that simple knee support is secured correctly, if this is used.
Disinfect THERA-Trainer coro before every training (see chap. 10. Cleaning and disin-
fecting).

OPERATION
Release winged screw 2 on first vertical pipe.
Adjust height using the mark 1.
Tighten winged screw 2 on the vertical pipe.
Adjust height on second vertical pipe.
Ensure that the height on the left vertical pipe and right vertical pipe of the
upper pipe frame is adjusted the same.
Adjusting the broad stay tubes
Pull out safety catches 1 of the stay tube.
Adjust stay tubes to user's pelvis.
Release safety catch.
Ensure that the safety catch audibly clicks into place.
Ensure that the left stay tube and right stay tube are adjusted the same.
