Installation
• Install outdoors.
The brine manifold is not suitable for indoor installation (severe
condensation).
•
The collector and probe pipes must be connected strain-free to the
manifold. If necessary, attach strain relief clamps to PE pipe.
•
Brine manifolds must not be immersed in water and must be
protected from the rain.
Minimum distance from the water surface must be permanently
greater than 200 mm.
•
Ensure that the PE pipe cannot be pulled out of the compression
tting through ground subsidence.
•
The brine manifolds must be securely xed onto a rm substrate by
means of pipe clamps.

•
Please ensure that you insert the seals correctly and only use suitable
spanners. The connections at the ball valves for the individual PE
pipes (on site), with an outer diameter of 32 mm, are fastened by
means of a compression tting, which is already integrated in the
manifold. The system is lled using the lling and ushing valves.
After lling the system with the brine mixture, use the end caps to
close o the valves.
•
Tightening with a pipe wrench can cause damage.
•
When tightening pipes, etc. always hold them against the tightening
direction.
ATTENTION
Protect from road salt and melt water from the courtyard and road.
NOTE
•
When dimensioning the pump, please note that the pressure loss
with 25 % - 30 % brine is a factor of 1.5 - 1.7 greater than with pure
water. The characteristic curve for the delivery rate of the circulation
pump is approx. 10 % below the characteristic curve for water.
•
Use PE pipe with dimensions 32x3.0 or 32x2.9. Where possible, use a
PE pipe SDR 11 to DIN 8074.
•
Installation with more than 16 connections at the collector or
distributor manifold is not allowed.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHEN ASSEMBLING AND
INSTALLING THE UNIT:
Approved supplies
- Vaseline / mineral oil-free sealants and pastes.
Unapproved aids:
- Mineral oils and greases and lubricants containing mineral oil
- Fuels
- Ether and esters / - Adhesives
- Household cleaning products
•
Remove any dirt or other residues in the O-ring grooves.
•
Never glue in O-rings.
•
Do not squash O-rings or pull them over sharp edges.
•
Do not use pointed or sharp-edged tools.
•
Do not twist the O-ring.
•
Cut the PE pipe at right-angles and chamfer slightly on the outside.
•
The part of the PE pipe within the functional range of the clamping
ring and seal must be grease-free and free from scratches.
•
Support sleeves are recommended for the PE pipe within the area of
the compression tting.
COLLECTOR AND SUPPLY PIPE:
The collector pipe of each collector circuit must not be longer than
100 m. The recommended maximum total length for the connection
pipes from the heat pump to the collector and distributor is 30 m.
The pump capacity reduces the seasonal performance factor of the
heat pump system. Therefore, the pipe should be dimensioned under
the aspect of achieving low pressure losses. Under this aspect the ow
velocity in the pipes must be less than 1 m/s. This criterion is fullled
with the following pipe dimensions:
Power level Manifold Collector pipe
< 17 kW 40 x 2.3 32 x 3
≥ 17 ≤ 33 kW 50 x 2.9 32 x 3
> 33 kW 75 x 4.3 32 x 3
NOTE
If the distance from the heat pump to the brine manifold is greater than
15 metres, the supply pipe installed must have a larger dimension, in or-
der to keep the pressure loss low.
Collector and distributor
The collector, distributor and vent valve should be installed outside the
building, in the highest point of the system. They should be installed in
accessible shafts or manholes.
Permanent bleeder:
A permanent bleeder / vent should be installed at the highest point in
the system. (Not included in scope of delivery)
