12 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
5 Plug the adapter into the mains socket. Use the on / off switch (5) to
select the desired flow of mist. Fig. 2. The humidifier starts working and
the pilot light (4) comes on.
6 When you want to deactivate the mist function, use the on/off switch (5)
and return it to the original position.
The humidifier has a safety system that disconnects the transducer (9)
before running dry, thanks to its water level float (8).
The ioniser function can be selected on its own or simultaneously with
the emission of mist. It causes the appliance to emit negative oxygen
ions, providing healthier, fresher air in the room. If the mist function is not
required, the product can still be used as an air purifier.
• To use the ioniser function, press the on / off switch (3) Fig. 3. The pilot
light (7) remains on while the ioniser function is active. To deactivate this
function, press the selector again (3) and the pilot light (7) goes out.
4 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before any cleaning operation, switch the appliance off and unplug it.
1 There may be some scale deposits in the transducer, particularly in
areas with hard water. Overcome this drawback by cleaning the
transducer with vinegar at least once a week, as follows:
a) Moisten a cotton bud with vinegar and wipe the transducer gently,
until the scale deposits disappear completely.
b) Rub down with a dry cloth and remove remains of moisture.
c) Do not rub the transducer with solid objects.
d) Do not clean with chemical products.
2 Clean the inside of the water tank at least once a week, as follows:
a) Fill the tank with clean water adding a few drops of bleach or a
similar disinfectant. Close the tank completely with its cap and
shake forcibly.
b) Rinse thoroughly.
Note: Water accumulated over long periods may create bacteria and
mildew (fungus).
3 The outside of the appliance can be cleaned using a soft damp cloth.
4 Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
5 With each change of water the included brush (11) should be used to
remove dust and any scale remains on the transducer.
6 Do not place the transducer directly under the tap.
