ASSEMBLINGPRESSUREWASHER

Your Craftsmanpressure washer will needassembly before

operation:

1. Fill out and sendin registration card.

2. Attach handle and accessorytray.

3. Add oil to engine crankcase.

4. Add fuel to fuel tank.

5. Connectpressure hoseto spray gun and pump.

6. Connectwater supplyto pump.

7. Attach nozzleextensionto spray gun.

8. Select/attach quick connect spraytip to nozzleextension.

Attach Handteand AccessoryTray

1. Placehandle(A) onto handle supports connectedto

main uniL Make sure holes in handlealign with hobs on

handlesupports.

2. insert handle carriagebolts (B) through hobs from

inside of unit and attach a plastic knob (C)from outside

of uniL Tighten by hand.

NOTICE Byloosening both knobs to the middle section of

the attachmentbolt. the upper handle canfold forward to

store fiat atop the cold engine.DONOTfold the handle down

while the engine is hot.

3. insert rubber straps (D) through slots (E) in backof

accessorytray and pull tight from fronL

4. Placeaccessorytray (F) over hobs (G) on handle

(viewing from front of unit). Pushthe tree clips (H) into

the hobs until they sit fiat against the accessorytray.

5. insert multi-colored quick connect spray tips and other

supplied accessoriesin spacesprovided in accessory

tray. SeeHow to UseAccessory Tray,

6. Attach bottle bracket(A) to handlewith carriage bolt (B)

and black plastic knob (C). Tighten by hand.

Attach Project Pro@ PerfectMix TMSiphon to

Attachthe tube end of the blue PerfectMixTM Siphon (t}) to

the barbedtube fitting (E) on the pump.

Attach PerfectNix TMDetergent Siphon to

Concentrategettie

PlacePerfectMixTM bottle (not included) in the wire-form

bracket on the handle.Removecapfrom bottle and insert the

PerfectMixTM Siphon.Screw the siphon unit to the top of the

bottle (F). Usethe clip on the cap (G)to snapsiphon to wire

form bracketwhen siphon is not in a concentrate bottle.

Add Engine Oil

1. Placepressure washer on a fiat, levelsurface.

2. Cleanarea around oil fill and remove yellow oil fill

cap/dipstick.

3. Slowly pour contents of oil bottle into oil fill opening.

Checkingoil levelfrequently, fill to FULLmark (top hob)

on dipstick.

4. Replaceoil fill cap/dipstick and fully tighten.

Add Fuel

Fuel must meet these requirements:

* Clean,fresh, unleadedgasoline.

* A minimum of 87 octane/87AKI (91 RON).For high

altitude use, see HighAltitude.

° Gasolinewith upto 10% ethanol (gas@@ is acceptable.

NOTICE Use of unapproved fuels could damage pressure

washer and voids warranty.

DONOTuse unapprovedgasoline such as E15and E85.

DONOTmixoil in gasolineor modifyengineto run onalternatefuels.

WHENADDING FUEL

To protectthe fuel system from gum formation, mix in a fuel

stabilizerwhen adding fuel. See Storage.All fuel is not the

same.if you experiencestarting or performance problems

after using fuel, switch to a different fuel provider or change

brands. This engine is certified to operateon gasoline. The

emission control system for this engine is EM(Engine

Modifications).

1. Cleanareaaround fuel fill cap, removecap.

2. Slowly add regular unleadedfuel (H) to fuel tank (a). Be

careful not to overfill. To allow for fuel expansion,do not

fill abovethe bottom of the fuel tank neck.

3. Install fuel capand let anyspilled fuel evaporatebefore

starting engine.

CAUTION! Alcohol-blendedfuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or

methanol) can attract moisture, which leadsto separationand

formation of acids during storage.Acidic gascan damagethe

fuel system of an enginewhile in storage.

To avoidengine problems, the fuel system should betreated

with a fuel preserver or emptied before storage of 30 days or

longer, if adding a fuel preserver,fill the fuel tank with fresh

fuel. if only partially filled, air in the tank will promote fuel

deterioration during storage, if fuel preserver is not used,

drain the fuel tank, start the engine and let it run until the fuel

lines and carburetor are empty, Usefresh fuel next season.

See Storagefor additional information.

NEVERuseengine or carburetor cleanerproducts in the fuel

tank as permanent damagemay occur.

At altitudes over 5,000 feet (1524 meters), a minimum

85 octane/ 85 AKI (89 RON)gasoline is acceptable.To

remain emissions compliant, high altitude adjustment is

required. Operationwithout this adjustment will cause

decreasedperformance, increasedfuel consumption, and

increased emissions. Seea qualified Searsdealer for high

altitude adjustment information. Operationof the engineat

altitudes below 2,500 feet (762 meters) with the high altitude

kit is not recommended.

FreshStart@ FuemCap

The FreshStart@fuel cap (A) is designedto hold a

cartridge (B) which containsfuel preserver.Adding fuel

preserver helps keepfuel fresh and carburetors cleanfor

easierstarting all season long. The FreshStart@fuel cap, f

equipped with a cartridge, automatically drips concentrated

fuel preserverinto your fuel tank so you don't haveto add it

yourself.

Lubricate OoRings

Lubrication of o-rings is extremely important for installation

and operation_The useof a lubricant (petroleum or synthetic

Check Spray Gan and Nezzie Extension

Examinehoseconnectionto spraygun and makesureit is

secure.Testtrigger bypressingit and makingsureit springs

backinto placewhenyou releaseit. Donotdepressredbutton

andtesttrigger.You shouldnot beableto presstrigger. Replace

spraygun immediatelyif it failsanyofthesetests.

Spray Tip Maintenance

A pulsing sensationfelt while squeezingthe spray gun

trigger may becaused by excessivepump pressure.The

principal causeof excessivepump pressure is a spray tip

clogged or restricted with foreign materials, such asdirt, etc.

To correct the problem, immediately cleanthe spray tip

following these instructions:

1. Shut off engine and turn off water supply.

2. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction, press red

button and squeezespray gun trigger to releaseretained

high water pressure.

& WARNING The high pressure stream of water that

and its underlying tissues, resulting in serious

injury and possible amputation.

Spray gun traps high water pressure,evenwhen engine is

stopped and water is disconnected, which could result in

serious injury.

Keephighpressurehoseconnectedto pumpandspraygun

ALWAYSpointspraygunin safedirection,pressredbutton

andsqueezesprayguntriggerto releasehighpressure,every

timeyoustopengine.

3. Removespray tip from end of nozzleextension.

4. Use a small paper clip to free anyforeign material

clogging or restricting spray tip (A).

5. Removenozzleextensionfrom spray gun.

6. Using a garden hose, remove additional debris by back

flushing water through nozzleextension. Backflush

between30 to 60 seconds.

7. Reinstall spray tip into nozzleextension.

8. Reconnect nozzleextensionto spray gun.

9. Make sure garden hose is connectedto water inlet,

Checking Oil Level

Oil levelshould be checkedprior to eachuse or at bast every

8 hours of operation. Keepoil level maintained.

1. Makesure pressurewasher is on a levelsurface.

2. Removeoil dipstick and wipe dipstick with cleancloth.

Replaceand tighten dipstick. Removeand check oil

level.

3. Verify oil is at FULLmark (top hole) on dipstick. Replace

andtighten dipstick.

Adding Engine Oil

1. Makesure pressurewasher is on a levelsurface.

Changing Engine Oil

If you are using your pressure washer under extremely dirty

or dusty conditions, or in extremely hot weather,changeoil

more often.

Changeoilwhileengineis still warm from running, as

follows:

1. Drain fuel tank by running pressure washer until fuel

tank is empty.

2. Disconnect spark plug wire and keepit away from spark

plug.

3. Cleanarea around oil fill, removeoil fill cap/dipstick.

Wipe dipstick clean.

4. Tipyour pressurewasher to drain oil from oil fill into a

suitable container making sure you tip your unit away

from spark plug. When crankcaseis empty, return

pressure washer to upright position.

5. Slowly pour recommendedoil (about 15 oz.) into oil fill

opening. Pauseto permit oil to settle. Fillto FULLmark

(top hob) on dipstick.

6. Wipe dipstick cleaneachtime oil levelis checked. DO

NOToverfill.

7. Replaceand tighten dipstick.

8. Wipe up any remainingoil.

9. Reconnectspark plug wire to spark plug.

ServiceAir Cleaner

Your enginewill not run properly and may be damaged ifyou

run it with a dirty air cleaner.Service more often if operating

under dirty or dusty conditions. Replacementsare available

at your local Searsservicecenter.

Teservice the air cleaner, feiiew these steps:

1. Lift tab slightly on top of air cleanercover (A),tilt down

and removecover.

2. Carefully removeair cleanerto prevent debris from

falling into carburetor.

3. Wash foam air cleaner (B) in liquid detergent and water.

Squeezedry in a cleancloth.

4. SATURATEfoam air cleaner in engine oil and squeezein

a cleancloth to removeexcess oil.

5. Reinstall cleanor new foam air cleaner in base(C).

6. Placetabs at bottom of cover in slots of base,tilt cover

up and snap closed.

NOTICE You can purchase new air cleanerelements by

Service Spark Plug

Changingthe spark plug will help your engineto start easier

and run better.

1. Cleanareaaround spark plug.

2. Removeand inspect spark plug.

3. Replacespark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned or

porcelain is cracked. Usethe recommendedreplacement

plug, See Specifications.

4, Checkelectrode gap with wire feelergauge and reset

spark plug gap to recommendedgap if necessary(see

Specifications).

5, Install spark plug and tighten firmly.

Air CoolingSystem

Overtime debris may accumulate in cylinder cooling fins and

cannot be observedwithout partial engine disassembly. For

this reason,we recommendyou havea qualifiedSears

servicedealer cleanthe cooling system per recommended

intervals (see MaintenanceSchedu/e).Equallyimportant is to

keeptop of engine freefrom debris. See CieanDebris.

Carburetor Adjustment

Thecarburetor on this engine is low emission, it is equipped

with a non-adjustable idle mixture valve.Top speedhas been

set at the factory, if adjustment is required,seean authorized

servicedealer.

CAUTION Excessively high operating speeds could

result in minor injury.

Excessively low operating speeds impose a heavy load.

, DO NOTtamper with governor spring, links or other partsto

increase enginespeed. Pressurewasher suppliescorrect rated

pressure and flow when running at governed speed.

AFTEREACHUSE

Water should not remain in the unit for long periods of time.

Sedimentsor minerals candeposit on pump pars and

"freeze" pump action. Follow these procedures after every

use:

1. Shut off engine,turn off water supply, point gun in a

safedirection, press red button and squeezetrigger to

relievetrapped pressure and let engine cool.

accessorytray. Hang high pressure hoseon hook

attachedto accessorytray.

4. Empty pump of all pumped liquids by pulling recoil

handleabout 6 times. This should remove most liquid in

pump.

5. Store unit in a clean, dry area.
