Network Storage System
WD ShareSpace
Network Storage System
with RAID
Small-footprint, 4-bay System
Gigabit Ethernet
RAID 0/1/5
Ideal for small offices and
home networks with 3 to 10
networked computers who
want centralized storage.
Centralized storage
with plenty of capacity
to go around.
This high-speed network-attached storage system with capacities
up to 8 TB and a space-saving footprint gives you all the
benefits of a big time data center without the need for a big
time IT department. Perfect for centralizing and sharing data and
multimedia files on a small office or home network.
Big capacity, small footprint — Offered in 2, 4 and 8 TB
capacities, this small-footprint four-bay system takes up very little
space and provides plenty of storage to go around.
High-speed access, Ethernet connectivity — Provides data
transfer rates up to 1,000 Mb/s when used in a GigE network.
Gigabit networking and transfer rates are five to six times
faster than other network storage systems. This performance is
comparable to USB 2.0 direct-attached storage.
RAID capability — Offers multiple RAID configurations for data
protection and speed – RAID 0 (Striped), RAID 1 (Mirrored),
and RAID 5. The RAID 5 mode, only available on the fully-
populated 4-drive system, is the recommended mode to achieve
both high-performance and data protection through redundancy.
Remote access software — Access your files anywhere,
anytime using MioNet
®
remote access services from WD.
Stream digital media anywhere in your home — Built-
in DLNA certified media server for streaming music, photos
and movies to any DLNA certified multimedia device such as
Playstation
®
3 and Xbox 360
®

As used for storage capacity, one megabyte (MB) = one million bytes, one gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes, and one terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes. Total
accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment. As used for transfer rate or interface, megabyte per second (MB/s) = one million bytes per second,
and gigabit per second (Gb/s) = one billion bits per second. Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment and RAID configuration. RAID 0
(striped) accesses the full capacity of the drives. RAID 5 accesses three-fourths of the total capacity for data protection. RAID 1 (mirrored) accesses half of the total
capacity for additional data protection. 4178-705023-A03 Jan 2009
