TDC-9030 Industrial Battery Charger
HANMI TECHWIN. CO., LTD. 2
1. Introduction
The all-digital battery charger (BCU) developed by HANMI TECHWIN is a
device that charges the battery by making high-speed switching method
using 3-phase AC power using IGBT.
BCU (Battery Charging Unit) monitors and protects battery status in real
time to provide optimal operating environment.
2. Characteristics
Simplicity
Charge automatically with battery capacity (AH) and battery rating setting only.
Monitoring charging voltage and current through LCD
Charge voltage, current and charge capacity are displayed, so you can check it
immediately without any additional measuring equipment.
Small, lightweight
It is compact and lightweight because it does not adopt transformer and
large capacitor, and it is easy to handle.
Battery diagnostic function
It continually checks the battery's overvoltage, discharge end voltage and
other conditions to ensure that it is always in top condition.
Equal charge function
Equalization charging is performed when the voltage between the terminals of
the battery and the specific gravity of the electrolyte is not uniform and the
performance can not be fully demonstrated. This function charges the battery
at a constant voltage (117% of the battery rating) during Equalizing time.
When the set time has elapsed and the equal charge is completed, the auto
run parameter is automatically switched to floating charge if the parameter
is set to ON. If it is OFF, the output is stopped.
Recovery charge function
When the battery voltage is below the discharge end voltage (75% of the
rated voltage), it automatically operates in the recovery charge (RC) mode and
is also possible by key operation. The recovery charge is slightly higher than
the battery rated voltage for safety, and when the battery voltage exceeds the
rated voltage, it charges to 115% of the battery rating. When the recovery
voltage and current reaches the appropriate level (voltage is 115% and current
is battery capacity / 50 or less), depending on the setting of Auto Run, it
changes to a floating charge or standby state.

Caution 1) In case of actual use after the test run, be sure to set Auto Run to
ON to charge the battery automatically.
Caution 2) The mark ‘*’ can not be arbitrarily adjusted by the user.
Auto Run : Set which mode to start at initial startup
- This parameter is used when the MCU starts to operate due to Power
ON or Reset. If it is set to OFF, start and stop of charging can be
controlled with the RUN key.
Batt. Voltage : Set the battery voltage.
- If 18 batteries of 12V are used in series, set to 12 × 18 = 216 [V].
The Floating Charge charges 111% of the battery voltage and the
Equalized Charge charges the constant voltage / constant current to
117% of the battery voltage.
Batt. Capacity : Set the battery capacity.
- If the battery capacity is 100AH, setting 100 will automatically set the
parameter Max. Out Currentto 5A, which is the charging standard
for
20 hours.
Output Current : Sets the output current limit.
- Set the current that the charger can output at maximum. This limit
setting allows you to safeguard your battery and circuit, especially
when large currents can flow, such as a recovery charge.
Equalizing Time : Set the equal charge time.
*Max. Current : An overcurrent fault occurs when the charger exceeds
the set current.
*Halt on WDR : Set or cancel the self-diagnosis function of the MCU.
