Getting Started
Polycom, Inc. 17
Each web page is divided into three frames:
● A customizable top frame
● A left frame that lists the links to available pages
● A main frame that shows the parameters of the currently selected page
Use the expandable or collapsible menu tree on the left side of the page to navigate the various
configuration parameter sections of your phone.
You must submit changes made on each configuration page before moving to another page.
Otherwise, you lose any changes you made when you navigate to another page.
Most changes require a restart of the phone to take effect. However, you can restart the phone just
once after you have made and submitted all the necessary changes on all the pages.
Web Page Conventions, Icons, and Buttons
Icon or Button Description Notes
This icon indicates that more information is
available to describe the workings, limits, or
thresholds for the parameter to which it’s adjacent.
You can mouse over this icon to reveal this
information.
When you modify a parameter on a page, click the
Submit button before proceeding to another page.
If you change a parameter on a page and you
don’t want to submit the change, click Clear
Changes to revert the parameter setting to the
previous setting.
Click Use Defaults Only if you want to revert all
parameters on a given page to their default
settings. If you want to revert just one or two
parameters on a page to default settings, use the
Default check box found on the right side of the
parameter. See next Item.
You’re prompted to confirm that
you want all the parameters on
the page to revert back to system
default settings.
When you wish to change a parameter from its
default setting, uncheck Default. This opens the
parameter field for access and modification. If a
non-default setting is in a parameter field and you
want to revert that parameter back to its default,
check Default. The default setting returns.
The default value of a parameter
changes with a firmware upgrade.
Leaving a parameter at its default
setting allows the device to use
proper default value with the
firmware currently installed in the
device.
This icon indicates that the configuration currently
programmed on the phone is set and running. No
reboot is necessary if you have submitted
configuration modifications.
This icon doesn’t indicate that the
currently running configuration is
working properly.
