Filter - Use & Maintenance
The removable filter is made up of fabric which retains the particles of
scale and stops them from falling into the cup when you pour.
Attention : This filter does not treat the water or remove the scale from it.
It therefore preserves all the qualities of the water.
Do not remove the filter when the kettle is still hot or when there is hot
water inside.
With very hard water, the filter becomes clogged with scale very quickly
(10-15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly. If the scale becomes
hard and difficult to be removed, clean the filter gently with a soft brush.
If the filter is wet, rinse it with water. If it is dry, scrub it gently. Sometimes
the scale does not come away; if so, descaling is necessary.
To descale the filter :
1. Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.
2. Let it soak for about half an hour.
3. Rinse it thoroughly with water before putting back in the kettle.
Important : Do not use other cleaning detergents or descaling products to
clean the filter.
14
Press on the On/Off switch to turn it on.
The kettle stops automatically when the water is boiling.
Caution: The kettle will turn itself off automatically when it is removed
from its base.
Never lift the lid whilst the water is boiling.
To stop the kettle before the water comes to a boiling point, press on the
On/Off switch to "Off" position.
When you pour, please wait until the water stops boiling.
Make sure the kettle has automatically stopped or been switched off
before you remove it from its base.
Attention: If the kettle stops before boiling, the problem may be solved by
descaling it (please refer to the "Descaling" section).
