Mounting on wall studs (preferred):
1.
Locate and lightly mark wall studs and voids
with
a stud finder (not included).
2.
Level (not included) the backplate
(I)
in the desired position against the wall.
3.
Using step
#1
marks
as
a guide,
mark stud locations using backplate
(I)
as
the
template.
4.
Use
drill
bit
(H)
to
drill holes
through the drywall
into
the studs.
5.
Place
screw
(C)
through screw cap
(D).
6. Put the screw through backplate and
into
the drilled hole, while placing
the backplate against the wall.
7.
Hand
tighten
screw against backplate
until firmly seated (do
not
overtighten).
8.
Snap screw cap
(D)
closed.
9. Repeat
for
all other
mounting
spots.
Note: Most studs are spaced 16" on center, and
is
the preferred
method
of
mounting.
It
is
recommended
that
at least four
(4)
screws

are seated firmly
into
wooden studs.
Mounting
only on drywall
is
dangerous,
and reduces the
weight
capacity
of
the
shelf considerably.
The
drywall
anchors are only supplied
to
supplement
the
stud-mounted screws.
Step

Mounting on drywall
(only
if
needed):
1.
Locate and lightly mark wall studs and voids

2.
Level (not included) the backplate

in the desired position against the wall.
3.
Using step

marks
as
a guide,
mark voids for drywall anchors
(E)
using backplate
(I)
as
the template.
4.
Drill
into
drywall using drill
bit
(H)
to
create a starter hole
for
the drywall anchor
(E).
5. Turn drywall anchor into drywall
with
a Phillips screwdriver until
flush
with
wall.
6.
Place
screw
(C)
through screw cap
(D)
.
7. Put screw through backplate and
into
the drywall anchor, while placing
the
backplate
against the wall.
8. Hand tighten screw against backplate until
firmly seated (do
not
overtighten).
9.
Snap screw cap
(D)
closed.
10.
Repeat for all other mounting spots.
