USB 2.0 Card Bus is a 2-in-1 controller. It has two USB 1.1 controllers and one USB
2.0 controller integrated into a single board. Please follow the instruction below for
proper driver installation.


 

USB 1.1 DRIVER INSTALLATION
4.1.1 At the “Add New Hardware Wizard” window, click "NEXT".
4.1.2 Choose "Select the best driver for your devices" click"NEXT".
4.1.3 Insert Windows 98SE Installation CD and select “Specify Driver



4.1.4 Use the BROWSE icon, direct Windows to search the Window 98



4.1.5 Windows will ask for drivers again; repeat the above process.
4.1.6 Windows will not be able to install the lastPCI Serial Bus controller”;
it is ok.
4.1.7 After installation, restart the system.
4.1.8 To Verify for Successful USB 1.1 controller Installation:
Start icon/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device manager

4.1.9 Insert the driver of USB 2.0 2 Ports Cardbus.
(USB 2.0 2 port CardBus)
4.1.10 Restart computer to accept new setting.
4.1.11 Once restarted, Windows will install the new driver automatically.
4.1.12 To Verify for Successful Installation:
Start icon/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device manager.

4.2.1 After installing the USB 2.0 controller, Windows will install the USB 1.1
working driver automatically.
4.2.2 When "PCI Universal Serial Bus" comes up, clicks "CANCEL" to exit
the Installation Wizard
4.2.3 Insert the driver of USB 2.0 2 Ports Cardbus.

4.2.4 Restart computer to accept new setting.
4.2.5 Windows will install the USB 2.0 driver automatically
4.2.6 To Verify for Successful Installation:

4.4.1
After installing the USB 2.0 controller, Windows will install the USB 1.1driver
automatically.
4.4.2 Insert the driver of USB 2.0 2 Ports Cardbus.

4.4.3 At the “Software Installation screen, click Continue Anyway”.
4.4.4 Once the installation is completed, restart computer to accept new
default setting.
4.4.5 After computer restarted,Found New Hardware Wizard” will show up.
4.4.6 Select “Install the software automatically… and click” NEXT”.
4.4.7 At the “Hardware Installation” screen, click “Continue Anyway”, and
“Finish”
4.4.8 Found New Hardware Wizard” will come up again; repeat thesteps
from 7 to 8 to complete the installation
4.4.9 To Verify for Successful Installation:
Start icon/Settings/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device manager

Windows XP Service Pack has the Microsoft USB 2.0 controller driver built-
in. It will over-ride the existing USB 2.0 controller driver and install the
Microsoft USB 2.0 controller driver once the XP Service Pack is installed
