INSTALLATION
Themachineissuppliedfactorylubricatedandreadytorun.Itshouldbepositionedonanysolid,
levelandnonskidworksurfacethatisnonflammable.Installinworkareawithadequatelightand
space.
ForSP‐22HAorSmallerCapacityModel,youmayplacethemixeronbenchwhichiscapableof
supportingaloadofmixersweight.Forsafety,themixershouldbeBOLTEDinpositionusingall
fourholeslocatedinthelegs, bolt size L50 mm 3/8".
DONOTattempttoliftthemixeralone.
Cleanthemixerbeforeuse.Itisnormalforthefactorytoapplya
generousamountofgreaseinandonthemachinebeforeinitialuse.
Duringthetransportationorfitting,pleasedonotleanover35degree
toavoidthegearoilleakingfromthegearoilcontainer.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

CAUTION:Theusershouldinstallanovercurrentprotectiondevice(e.g.fuseorNFB)orResidual
CurrentDevice(GFCI)inthemachineincomingsitepowerlinestopreventafaultcurrentrisk.
CAUTION:ThemachineisdesignedforTNpowersystem.
Beforeconnectingthismachinetotheelectricalsupply,checkthatthedetailsontheratingplate
(locatedontherearofthemachine)correspondtothedetailsofyourelectricalconnection.
Themixerissuppliedwithatrailingleadfittedwithamoldedplug.Ifthestyleofplugisunsuitablefor
thesocketyouplantouse,theplugmustbecutoffandreplacedwithanappropriateplug.
Machinesarefittedwithacolorcodedthreecorecableasfollows:
(1) Brown:Live
(2) Blue:Neutral
(3) Green/Yellow:Earth
Asthecolorofthewiresmaynotcorrespondtothecoloredmarkingsidentifyingtheterminalsinyourplug,
youshouldproceedasfollows:
Thewirewhichiscoloredbluemustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarkedwiththeletter
Norcoloredblack.
Thewirewhichiscoloredbrownmustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarkedwiththe
letterLorcoloredred.
Thewirewhichiscoloredgreen/yellowmustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarkedwith
theletterEorcoloredgreen.
NOTE:Intermsofthe3phase,whenthemixerislocatedandconnectedwiththeplug,pleasemakesure
thattheshaftgoesclockwise.(Samedirectionasthearrowstickerthatlocatedonthefrontofthemachine)
Iftheshaftgoescounterclockwise,pleasereplacethewires:R.S.T.(USA)L1,L2,L3,(Europe).Toreplacethe
wireseachotheruntiltheshaftgoesclockwise.
Themixershouldbepluggedintoaswitchedsocketwhichisolatesallpolesandhasaminimum
contactclearanceof3mmandlocatedclosetothemixerforuseinanemergencyandtofacilitateservicing.
Themachinemustbeincorporatedintoapotentialequalizationsystem.
Theleakagecurrentforthisapplianceisnogreaterthan1mA/KW.
Iftheelectricalsupplycabletothemachinebecomesdamaged,itmustbereplacedbyaspecification
orhigherandsuitablefortheMixersmotorload.
Thegroundwireisfixedtothemachineandthisconnectionmustbekeptintact.

Theminimumrequirementforallelectricalequipmentiscorrectoperationbetweenairtemperature
of+5and+40.
Electricalequipmentiscapableofoperatingcorrectlywhentherelativehumiditydoesnotexceeding95%at
amaximumtemperatureof+40.

Electricalequipmentisdesignedtowithstandtoprotectedagainsttheeffectsoftransportation,and

OperatingInstructions
BEFORE USING THE MIXER
Beforeusingthemixer,ensurethatallusersarefamiliarwiththecorrectoperationofthemachine.In
particular,careshouldbetakentoensurethatthebowlandmixingtoolsarecorrectlyfittedandthatthe
bowlguardisinpositionpriortostartingthemachine.
SAFETY AT WORK
NEVERplaceyourhandoranykitchenutensilinthebowlwhilstthemixerisinoperation.
Keephands,hairandclothingawayfrommovingparts.
Isolatethemachinefromtheelectricalsupplybyremovingtheplugfromthesocketbefore
cleaning,servicingoradjustinganypartsorattachments.
Donotusethemachinewithanycoverorguardremoved.
Certainoperatornoticeadvisingaboutthesafeuseofthismixerisattachedtothemachine.
OFFICE, SHOPS AND RAILWAY PREMISES ACT, 1963
TheaboveActrequiresthatthismachineandattachmentsshallbeoperatedonlybyaproperly
instructedpersonorbyanemployeewhoisunderthesupervisionofaproperlyinstructedperson.The
instructionshallincludeindicationofthepossibledangersarisingandtheprecautionstobeobserved.The
Actalsorequiresthatnopersonundertheageof18shallcleanamachineifthisexposeshimtoriskof
injuryfromamovingpartofthatmachineoranyadjacentmachine.
CORRECT USE OF THE MIXER
Itistheresponsibilityoftheoperatorstousethemixercorrectlywithintherecommended
limitations.Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsonthesideofthemachinewhenchanginggear.Ifthe
motorlabors,pleasestopthemachineandreducethesizeofthemiximmediately.Damage
resultingfromimproperuseiswillvoidthewarranty.
Foroperatorsafety,themachineisfittedwithabowlguardwhichiselectricallyinterlockerto
ensurethatthemixercannotoperateunlesstheguardiscorrectlypositionedandthebowlisraised.
Excessiveforceusedtoopenandclosethebowlguardmaydamagetheelectricallyinterlocker,and
willvoidthewarranty.
Foradditionalsafety,themixerhasanovoltreleasefeaturewhichmeansthatintheeventofa
powerfailure,themachinewillonlyrestartafterthecontrolbuttonhasbeenpressedagain.This
arrangementensuresthatwhenthesupplyisrestored,themachinecannotrestartonitsown.
Carefulhandlingofbaggedproductsbyminimizingtheheightabovethebowlbasefromwhichthey
arepoured.
Carefulslittingofbagsinthelowerpartofthebowltoallowdustfreedischargeofflourasflouras
possible.
Usetemporarybowlcoverstominimizeopeningsthroughwhichflourmanyescape.

TOOL SELECTION
Thebeater,whiskandspiraldoughhookaretoolsfor
theworkimpliedbytheirnames.Donotusethebeater
fordoughmakingorthewhiskforanythingotherthan
whisking,aeratingormixinglightmixtures.
TheTable1showsthetypicalusesforeachofthe
tools.Formoredetails,pleaserefertoPage14.
NOTE:Alwayswashagitatorwithmildsoapandapply
lightquantityofmineraloiltoplanetaryshaftafter
cleaning.
FITTING THE BOWL
Withthebowlcradlelowered,placethechosenmixingtoolinthebowl
andpositionthebowlonthecradle.Therearethreelocationpointswhen
fittingthebowl.PleaserefertoFigure2:
(1)Thelockingpinattherearofthebowlshouldlocateintheholeofthe
cradle.
(2)Thetwoholesinthebowlhandlesmustengageonthepinslocatedonthe
cradle.
(3)Pleaseensurethatthebowlisseatedcorrectlyonthecradlebefore
securingthebowllockinglatchespriortouse.
(ForBiggerCapacityMixer,above50qt)
NOTE:Pleaseusebowltrucktoloadandunloadbowlcontainingmorethan
50lbsperbatch.
FITTING THE MIXING TOOL
Slidethebayonetfittingoftheagitatorontothedriveshaftandtwistclockwiseto
secureitinposition.Toremovetheagitator,slidethetooluptheshaftslightlyandtwist
counterclockwise.PleaserefertoFigure3.
NOTE:InstallthebowlBEFOREinsertingagitators.
NOTE:Agitatorsshouldalwaysrotateinaclockwisedirectionaroundbowl.Ifagitators
movecounterclockwise,pleasecontactlicensedelectricianimmediatelytoremedy
incorrectwiring.
BOWL LIFT & BOWL GUARD
Thebowlcradleandbowlguardareelectricallyinterlockedsothatthemachinewillonlyoperatewith
thebowlcradleattheraisedposition.Inadditiontothis,thebowlguardmustbelockedintoplaceby
slidingitintopositionacrossthetopofthebowltothepointwhereitwillslidenofurther.
NOTE:Onlyoncethebowlisraisedandthebowlguardlocked,themachinecanoperate.Thusensuring
totalusersafetyatalltimes.Oncetheguardhasbeenopenedorthebowllowered,themachinewill
stopimmediately.TheMixercanonlyberestartedbypressingthestartbuttonagain.
Duringthemixingprocess,additionalingredientscanbeaddedbythechutelocatedontherighthand
sideofthebowlguard.

Theinterlockingbowlguardnowisavailabletoremoveforcleaning
purpose.Withseparatedhandles,itcaneasytakeoutthebowlguardand
cleaninginasinkordishwasher.
Open / Closing the Bowl Guard:
Toopenthebowlguard,holdingtheseparatedhandle,androtating

shaft.
Toremovethebowlguard,pushtheupperandlowerpartofthe
separatedhandleindifferentway(upperpartcounterclockwise,lowerpart
clockwise)anddividethehandle.(SeefigureC)
Whenthehandleseparated,holdthelowerhandleandcontinueturning
theguardclockwiseuntiltheguardreleasesfromtheringcatchonthemixer.

Toreattachthebowlguard,lineuptheringcatchonthe
leftofthemixer;liftguardgentlyintoplaceandrotatethe
guard’slowerhandlecounterclockwiseuntilitsnapsbackinto

aftertheselectedinterval.Anuntimedpositionisprovidedfor
manuallycontrolledmixingcycles.
Beforestartingthemixeritisnecessarytosetthemixing
durationorselectthemanualpositionthemixerwillnotoperatein
the0position.
TIMEDOPERATION
FortimedoperationturntheTimerKnob(C)tothedesiredtime(durationismarkedfrom1to15in
graduationsofoneminute)andthenpresstheGreenStartButton(B)tostartthemixer.Afterthetimed
periodyouset,themixerwillstopautomatically.Ifitisnecessarytostopthemixerbeforetheendofthe
timedperiod,presstheRedStopButton(A).
UNTIMEDOPERATION
Ifyouwishtomanuallycontrolamix,selecttheuntimedmodebymovingtheTimerKnob
anticlockwisetothegreenmarkuntilitstops.

CleaningInstructions
CARE OF YOUR MIXER
CAUTION:ALWAYSDISCONNECTORUNPLUGTHEELECTRICALPOWERFROMTHEMIXERBEFORE
CLEANING.
Themixerisdesignedforsimplemaintenancecarriedoutbyoperators.Itmaybenecessaryfromtime
totimetoapplyalittleVaselineandoiltotherodsonwhichthebowlcradleslides.Ifso,usealittlefood
qualitylubricant,ensuringthatthereisnoexcessoilthatcouldcontaminatethefoodmix.
Cleanthemixerthoroughlyafteruse.Afterisolatingthemachinefromtheelectricitysupply,thebody
shouldbewipeddownwithadampcloth.Donotspraythemachinewithorimmerseitinwater.Donot
forgettocleantherearofthemachineanddonotallowtherearventstobecomeblockedasthismay
resultinoverheating.
Payparticularattentiontothebowlpinsandanysurroundingareasofthecradletopreventthe
accumulationofmix,asthiscouldpreventcorrectlocationofthebowl.Forthesamereasonensurethat
thebeatershaftandeachofthesocketsonthetoolsarecleanedthoroughly.Thebowlandtoolsshouldbe
washedinhotsoapywater,rinsedanddriedbeforebeingputintostorage.Donotwashtheagitatorsina
dishwasher,asthepolishedfinishwillbeadverselyaffectedbythedishwashingchemicals.
Maintenance
Itisrecommendedthatanyservicingormaintenanceworkmustbecarriedoutbyatrained
technicianorelectrician.

MAINTENANCE
Regularmaintenanceisnecessaryonallmachinesiftheyaretoremainingoodworkingcondition.Itis
stronglyrecommendedthatallmaintenancemustbecarriedoutbytrainedtechniciansfromanappointed
distributor.
ONAREGULARBASIS
CleanthemachinethoroughlyafteruseandlubricatetherodswithVaselineorlubricationoilwhich
thebowlcradleslides.Aftercleaningthebeatershaft,pleasewipeandlightlylubricatethebeatershaft
withVaselinetopreventrusting.(SEECAREONYOURMIXER)

Checkthatallboltsaretightandbowlguardsecure.
Carryoutonamorefrequentbasisifmachineisarduouslyused.
