INTRODUCTION: Mooney International Corporation has determined the necessity of a tamper-resistant
fastener, for the storm window installation. This service instruction provides the procedure
for adding fasteners to the Mooney aircraft listed above, with existing storm window
installations.
Procedure for the Storm Window Mounting Hardware and Torque Value
1.1. Remove AN526-1032R12 screw, AN960-10 washer and 22K2-02 nut from the storm
window latch assembly.
1.2. Install(1)Hi-Lokpin(HL20PB6-8-Painted),(1) Washer(NAS1149F0332P)thruwindow
and from inside aircraft, add (1) Washer (NAS1149F0363P), existing latch, (1) Washer
(NAS1149F0332P) and (1) Nut (MS21042-3) (refer to Figure SB M20-126-1).
1.3. Torque nut to run-on torque + 2 LB-IN (refer to Figure SB M20-126-1)
CAUTION:
Carefully Torque Nut to Run-On Torque + 2 LB-IN. Do not use isopropyl alcohol to
clean plexiglass surfaces or attaching hardware. Clean per FAA AC 43.13-1B, para-
graph 3-25.
