ATEN VS231 is a device that allows you to connect multiple video and audio sources to a single display. It has three input ports and one output port, so you can connect up to three devices to it. Important
• Ensure that all devices are powered off and properly grounded before connecting them to
the HDTV A/V Switch.
Installing your new HDTV A/V Switch involves the following five steps (please also refer to the
installation diagram):
1. Use 75-ohm component video cables to connect the Y/Pb/Pr jacks on the Video Out section
of the HDTV A/V Switch to the input jacks on the video display.
2. Use RCA stereo audio cables to connect the L/R jacks on the Audio Out section of the
HDTV A/V Switch to the input jacks on the audio receiver, speakers or display device.
3. Use 75-ohm component video cables to connect the component video output jacks on the
source device to the Y/Pb/Pr jacks on Input 1 of the HDTV A/V Switch.
4. Use RCA stereo audio cables to connect the audio output jacks on the source device to the
L/R jacks on Input 1 on the HDTV A/V Switch.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all sources devices that you wish to connect.
Note: Ensure that the video and audio from a single source device are connected to the jacks
in the same Input section.
5. Plug the provided power adapter into an AC power source appropriate for the device; plug the
power adapter cable into the DC Power Jack on the HDTV A/V Switch.
This completes the installation. You may now turn on the display and source devices
Port Switching
There are two convenient methods for switching among sources: Manual Selection and Remote
Control Selection.
Manual Selection
To select a source device, press and release the front panel selection switch that corresponds to the
port to which the device is connected.
Remote Control Selection
Press the Port Up or Port Down button on the remote controller to cycle through the source devices.
Each time you press the button, the media focus switches from the current port to the next port (Port
Up) or the previous port (Port Down).
To switch directly to a source device, press the numbered button (1, 2, 3, or 4) that corresponds to
the port the device is connected to.The VS-231 only uses buttons 1 and 2; pressing buttons 3 and 4
has no effect.
Note:
1. Aim the remote controller at the IR receiver located on the front panel of the HDTV A/V Switch.
For optimum performance, make sure there is a clear line-of-sight between the remote controller
and the IR receiver.
Powering Off and Restarting
If you power off the VS-231 / VS-431, follow these steps before powering it on again:
1. Power off the attached devices.
2. Unplug the power adapter cable from the HDTV A/V Switch.
3. Wait ten seconds, and then plug in the power adapter cable again.
4. After the HDTV A/V Switch is powered on, power on the attached devices.

Important
• Vérifiez que tous les périphériques sont éteints et correctement mis à la terre avant de les
connecter au commutateur HDTV A/V.
L’installation de votre nouveau commutateur HDTV A/V implique les cinq étapes suivantes (veuillez
vous reporter au diagramme d’installation) :
1. Utilisez des câbles vidéo en composante de 75 ohm pour connecter les prises jack Y/Pb/Pr sur la
section Sortie vidéo du commutateur HDTV A/V aux prises jack d’entrée sur l’affichage vidéo.
2. Utilisez des câbles audio stéréo RCA pour connecter les prises jack gauche/droite (L/R) sur la
section Sortie audio du commutateur HDTV A/V aux prises jack d’entrée sur le récepteur audio,
les hauts parleurs ou le périphérique d’affichage.
3. Utilisez des câbles vidéo en composante 75 ohm pour connecter les prises jack de sortie vidéo
en composante sur le périphérique source aux prises jack Y/Pb/Pr sur l'entrée 1 du commutateur
HDTV A/V.
4. Utilisez des câbles audio stéréo RCA pour connecter les prises jack de sortie audio sur le
périphérique source au prises jack gauche/droite (L/R) sur l’entrée 1 du commutateur HDTV A/V.
Répétez les étapes 3 et 4 pour tous les périphériques sources que vous voulez connecter.
Remarque : Vérifiez que la vidéo et l’audio d’un seul périphérique source sont connectées aux
prises jack dans la même section d’entrée.
5. Branchez l’adaptateur secteur fourni dans une source d’alimentation CA appropriée pour le
périphérique ; branchez le câble de l’adaptateur secteur dans la prise d’alimentation jack CC
sur le commutateur HDTV A/V.
Ceci permet de terminer l’installation. Vous pouvez maintenant allumer l’écran et les périphériques
sources.
Commutation des ports
Il existe deux méthodes pratiques pour passer d’une source à une autre : Sélection manuelle et
Sélection par télécommande.
Sélection manuelle
Pour sélectionner un périphérique source, appuyez et relâchez le commutateur de sélection du
panneau avant qui correspond au port auquel le périphérique est connecté.
Sélection par télécommande
Appuyez sur le bouton Port du haut ou Port du bas sur la télécommande pour défiler via les
périphériques sources. Chaque fois que vous appuyez sur le bouton, la cible du média passe du port
actuel au port suivant (Port du haut) ou au port précédent (Port du bas).
Pour passer directement à un périphérique source, appuyez sur le bouton numéroté (1, 2, 3 ou 4) qui
correspond au port auquel est connecté le périphérique. Le VS-231 utilise uniquement les boutons 1
et 2 ; une pression sur les boutons 3 et 4 n’a aucun effet.
Remarque :
1. Pointez la télécommande vers le récepteur à infra rouge situé sur le panneau avant du
commutateur HDTV A/V. Pour une performance optimale, vérifiez qu’il y a une visibilité directe
entre la télécommande et le récepteur à infra rouge.
Arrêter et redémarrer
Si vous arrêtez le VS-231 / VS-431, suivez ces étapes avant de le redémarrer.
1 Eteignez les périphériques auxquels il est relié.
2 Débranchez le câble de l'adaptateur secteur du commutateur HDTV A/V.
3 Patientez dix secondes puis, rebranchez le câble de l’adaptateur secteur.
4 Une fois le commutateur HDTV A/V allumé, allumez les périphériques auxquels il est relié.

Wichtig
• Schalten Sie alle Geräte aus, und sorgen Sie für eine ordnungsgemäße Erdung, bevor Sie sie mit
dem HDTV A/V-Switch verbinden.
Zur Installation des HDTV A/V-Switches müssen Sie die folgenden fünf Schritte durchführen (siehe
das Installationsdiagramm):
1. Verbinden Sie die Buchsen Y/Pb/Pr im Abschnitt Video Out des HDTV A/V-Switches mit den
Signaleingängen des Anzeigegerätes. Verwenden Sie dazu ein 75-Ohm-Komponenten-
Videokabel.
2. Verbinden Sie Buchsen L/R im Abschnitt Audio Out des HDTV A/V-Switches mit den
Signaleingängen des Audioreceivers. Verwenden Sie dazu ein RCA-Stereo-Audiokabel.
3. Verbinden Sie die Komponenten-Videoausgänge der Signalquelle mit den Buchsen Y/Pb/Pr im
Abschnitt Input 1 des HDTV A/V-Switches. Verwenden Sie dazu ein 75-Ohm-Komponenten-
Videokabel.
4. Verbinden Sie die Audioausgänge der Signalquelle mit den Buchsen L/R im Abschnitt Input 1 des
HDTV A/V-Switches. Verwenden Sie dazu ein RCA-Stereo-Audiokabel.
Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 3 und 4 für alle weiteren Geräte, die Sie verbinden möchten.
Hinweis: Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die Video- und Audiokabel der Signalquelle stets mit den
Eingängen desselben Abschnitts Input verbinden.
5. Schließen Sie das mitgelieferte Netzteil an eine Steckdose und sein Stromkabel an die
Stromeingangsbuchse des HDTV A/V-Switches an.
Damit ist die Installation abgeschlossen. An dieser Stelle können Sie den Monitor und die
Grafiksignalquellen einschalten.
Port umschalten
Es gibt zwei praktische Möglichkeiten, zwischen den Signalquellen umzuschalten: Manuelle Auswahl
und Auswahl per Fernbedienung.
Manuelle Auswahl
Um eine Signalquelle auszuwählen, drücken Sie den Auswahlschalter am vorderseitigen Bedienfeld,
der den Port den anzuschließenden Gerätes darstellt.
Auswahl per Fernbedienung
Drücken Sie die Taste Port auf/ab auf der Fernbedienung, um zyklisch zwischen den Signalquellen
umzuschalten. Mit jedem Tastendruck wird das Eingangssignal vom aktuellen auf den nächsten bzw.
vorigen Port umgeschaltet.
Um eine Signalquelle direkt auszuwählen, drücken Sie die Zifferntaste (1, 2, 3 oder 4), die den Port
des anzuschließenden Gerätes darstellt. Beim VS-231 funktionieren nur die Schalter 1 und 2. Die
Tasten 3 und 4 haben keine Funktion.
Hinweis:
1. Richten Sie die Fernbedienung auf den Infrarot-Empfänger auf der Vorderseite des HDTV
A/V-Switches. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich keine Hindernisse im Ausbreitungspfad des
Infrarotsignals befinden.
Ausschalten und neu starten
Wenn Sie den VS-231 / VS-431 ausgeschaltet haben, gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor, um ihn wieder
einzuschalten:
1 Schalten Sie alle angeschlossenen Geräte aus.
2 Ziehen Sie das Kabel des Netzteils vom HDTV A/V-Switch ab.
3 Warten Sie zehn Sekunden, und schließen Sie das Kabel des Netzteils wieder an.
4 Nachdem der HDTV A/V-Switch eingeschaltet ist, können Sie die angeschlossenen Geräte
einschalten.

Importante
• Apague todos los dispositivos y verifique que están debidamente conectados a tierra antes de
conectarlos al conmutador A/V HDTV.
La instalación del conmutador consiste en los cinco pasos siguientes (véase el diagrama de
instalación):
1. Conecte las clavijas Y/Pb/Pr en la sección de salida de vídeo por componentes del conmutador
a las entradas de vídeo de la pantalla. Para ello, emplee un cable de 75 ohmios.
2. Conecte las clavijas I/D en la sección de salida de audio del conmutador a las entradas de audio
del amplificador. Para ello, emplee un cable de audio RCA estéreo.
3. Conecte las clavijas Y/Pb/Pr de salida de vídeo por componentes de la fuente de vídeo a las
entradas de vídeo del conmutador. Para ello, emplee un cable de 75 ohmios.
4. Conecte las clavijas de salida de audio estéreo de la fuente de audio a las entradas de audio del
conmutador. Para ello, emplee un cable RCA estéreo.
Repita los pasos 3 y 4 para todos los dispositivos fuente que desee conectar.
Nota: Asegúrese de conectar las salidas de vídeo y audio del mismo dispositivo fuente a los
conectores de la misma sección de entrada.
5. Conecte el adaptador de alimentación incluido a una toma eléctrica y su cable de alimentación
a la entrada de corriente continua del conmutador A/V HDTV.
Con ello, la instalación ha concluido. A continuación podrá encender el monitor y los dispositivos
fuente de señal.
Conmutación de puertos
Hay dos formas muy prácticas para conmutar entre las fuentes de señal: la selección manual y a
través del mando a distancia.
Selección manual
Para seleccionar un dispositivo fuente, pulse el conmutador del panel frontal que corresponde al
puerto donde tiene conectado el dispositivo en cuestión.
Selección a través del mando a distancia
Pulse las teclas Puerto siguiente/anterior del mando a distancia para alternar cíclicamente entre las
diferentes fuentes de señal. Con cada pulsación de la tecla, la señal de entrada se recibirá del
dispositivo siguiente o anterior.
Para pasar a un dispositivo fuente directamente, pulse la tecla numérica (1, 2, 3 ó 4) que
corresponde al puerto donde tiene conectado el dispositivo en cuestión. El modelo VS-231 sólo
permite las teclas 1 y 2. Si pulsa las teclas 3 y 4, no se obtiene ninguna conmutación.
Nota:
1. Apunte con el mando al receptor para infrarrojos ubicado en el panel frontal del conmutador A/V
HDTV. Procure que no haya obstáculos en la trayectoria entre el mando a distancia y el receptor.
Apagado y reinicialización
Si apaga el VS-231 / VS-431, siga estos pasos antes de volver a encenderlo:
1 Apague todos los dispositivos conectados.
2 Desconecte el adaptador de alimentación del conmutador A/V HDTV.
3 Espere diez segundos y vuelva a conectar el adaptador de alimentación.
4 Una vez que el conmutador A/V HDTV se haya hincado, encienda los dispositivos conectados.

Premendo un interruttore si sposta la sorgente dalla relativa porta
d’entrata alla porta d’uscita per la visualizzazione.
I LED della porta sono incorporati negli interruttori di selezione della
porta.
• Il LED ONLINE (arancione) si illumina per indicare che il dispositivo
collegato alla relativa porta è acceso.
• Il LED SELEZIONATO (verde) si illumina per indicare che è
selezionata quella porta.
Ricevitore del telecomando IR.
Funzione
Sposta ciclicamente la selezione dell’uscita da una porta all’altra.
I numeri sui pulsanti corrispondono alle porte d’entrata sul pannello
posteriore dell’HDTV A/V Switch.
Requisiti hardware

• Un dispositivo di visualizzazione con spinotti d’entrata video del componente
• Un ricevitore audio, altoparlanti, o un dispositivo di visualizzazione con spinotti d’entrata audio
stereo RCA
Cavi
Affinché l’HDTV A/V switch funzioni correttamente, sono necessari due (VS-231) o quattro (VS-431)
set di cavi con connettori video del componente (Y/Pb/Pr) e audio stereo RCA.
Nota: I cavi non sono inclusi nella confezione. Si consiglia di acquistare cavi di alta qualità e di
lunghezza appropriata, in quanto ciò influisce sulla visualizzazione. Contattare il proprio
rivenditore per acquistare i cavi appropriati per l’HDTV A/V Switch.

Installazione dell’hardware
Importante!
• Accertarsi che tutti i dispositivi siano spenti e dotati di adeguata messa a terra prima di collegarli
all’HDTV A/V Switch.
Per installare il nuovo HDTV A/V Switch attenersi ai seguenti cinque punti (fare riferimento anche allo
schema d’installazione):
1. Utilizzare i cavi video componente da 75 ohm per collegare gli spinotti Y/Pb/Pr del gruppo d’uscita
video dell’HDTV A/V Switch alle prese d’entrata sullo schermo video.
2. Utilizzare i cavi audio stereo RCA per collegare gli spinotti L/R del gruppo d’uscita audio dell’HDTV
A/V Switch alle prese d’entrata sul ricevitore audio, sugli altoparlanti o sul dispositivo di
visualizzazione.
3. Utilizzare i cavi video componente da 75 ohm per collegare gli spinotti d’uscita video componente
del dispositivo sorgente alle prese Y/Pb/Pr su Entrata 1 (Input 1) dell’HDTV A/V Switch.
4. Utilizzare i cavi audio stereo RCA per collegare gli spinotti d’uscita audio del dispositivo sorgente
alle prese L/R su Entrata 1 (Input 1) dell’HDTV A/V Switch.
Ripetere i punti 3-4 per tutti i dispositivi sorgente che si desidera collegare.
Nota: Accertarsi che il video e l’audio da un singolo dispositivo sorgente siano collegati alle prese
dello stesso gruppo d’entrata.
5. Inserire la spina dell’alimentatore in dotazione in una presa d’alimentazione di rete corretta per il
dispositivo; inserire la spina del cavo dell’alimentatore nella presa d’alimentazione CC dell’HDTV
A/V Switch.
Ciò completa l’installazione. A questo punto è possibile accendere lo schermo ed i dispositivi
sorgente.
Cambio della porta
Esistono due modi di spostarsi fra le fonti: Selezione manuale e Selezione da telecomando.
Selezione manuale
Per selezionare un dispositivo sorgente, premere e rilasciare l’interruttore di selezione sul pannello
anteriore corrispondente alla porta a cui è collegato il dispositivo.
Selezione da telecomando
Premere il pulsante Porta su/Porta giù sul telecomando per spostarsi ciclicamente fra i dispositivi
sorgente. Ad ogni pressione del pulsante, il supporto passa alla porta attuale alla successiva (Porta
su) o alla precedente (Porta giù).
Per selezionare direttamente un dispositivo sorgente, premere i tasti numerati (1,2,3 o 4) corrispon-
denti alla porta a cui è collegato il dispositivo. Il VS-231 utilizza solo i pulsanti 1 e 2; premendo il 3 ed
il 4 non si ottiene alcun effetto.
Nota:
1.Dirigere il telecomando verso il ricevitore ad infrarossi che si trova sul pannello anteriore dell’HDTV
A/V Switch. Per ottenere le migliori prestazioni, accertarsi che non vi siano ostacoli frapposti fra il
telecomando ed il ricevitore IR.
Spegnere e riaccendere
Se si spegne il VS-231 / VS-431, seguire queste indicazioni prima di riaccenderlo:
1 Spegnere i dispositivi collegati.
2 Scollegare il cavo dell’alimentatore dall’HDTV A/V Switch.
3 Attendere dieci secondi e ricollegare il cavo dell’alimentatore.
4 Una volta acceso l’HDTV A/V Switch , accendere i dispositivi collegati.
