Thank you for purchasing this PIONEER product
To ensure proper use, please read through this manual before using this
product. It is especially important that you read and observe WARNINGs and
CAUTIONs in this manual. Please keep the manual in a safe and accessible
place for future reference.
If you want to dispose this product, do not mix it with general household
waste. There is a separate collection system for used electronic products in
accordance with legislation that requires proper treatment, recovery and
recycling.
Private households in the member states of the EU, in Switzerland and
Norway may return their used electronic products free of charge to
designated collection facilities or to a retailer (if you purchase a similar new
one).
For countries not mentioned above, please contact your local authorities for
the correct method of disposal.
By doing so you will ensure that your disposed product undergoes the
necessary treatment, recovery and recycling and thus prevent potential
negative effects on the environment and human health.
WARNING
Before driving, make sure the tablet is mounted securely in the unit so it
does not fly out in a sudden stop.
Do not use this unit if your tablet would block indicators (lights) or controls
such as Passenger Air Bag Off, Air Bag Malfunction, Hazard, Defrost./Defog,
Rear Defrost./Defog, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Off, and Heating / Air
Conditioning.

• Do not attempt to install or service this product by yourself.
Installation or servicing of this product by persons without training
and experience in electronic equipment and automotive accessories
may be dangerous and could expose you to the risk of electric shock,
injury or other hazards.
Do not attempt to operate the unit while driving. Make sure to pull off the
road and park your vehicle in a safe location before attempting to use the
controls on the device.
Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation to ensure
reliable operation of the product, and to protect it from overheating. To
prevent fire hazard, the openings should never be blocked or covered with
items (such as papers, floor mat, cloths).
CAUTION
Do not allow this unit to come into contact with moisture and/or liquids.
Electrical shock could result. Also, damage to this unit, smoke, and
overheating could result from contact with liquids.
Always keep the volume low enough to hear outside sounds.
This product is evaluated in moderate and tropical climate condition under
the Audio, video and similar electronic apparatus - Safety requirements, IEC
60065.
The operation of this unit is subjected to the following conditions:
1) It is possible that this unit or device doesn’t cause harmful interference
and
2) this unit must accept any interference, including the interference that
may cause undesired operation.
The driver should not keep looking at the image of the tablet while driving.

Attaching the holder
Please attach the holder after installing the main unit
into the dashboard.
1 Pull the cable out from the unit.
2 Stick the sheet on the main unit to cover the hole.
Cover the upper side or the lower side of the opening depending
on the installation position.

3 Pass the cable through the hole in the center of the spacer.
There are two spacers. Add spacers when required for the depth.
If you are not using a spacer, skip ahead to step 5.
4 Align the slots on the back of the spacer with the projections of
the main unit and fix it (3 fixing points).
Fix to the upper side or the lower side, depending on the
installation position.

5 Connect the cable to the connector located on the back of the
holder.
CAUTION
Insert the connector with the protruding surface ( ) facing down.
If you insert it upside down forcibly, it may break.
6 Align the main unit with the slots on the back of the holder and
push the cable back into the main unit (3 fixing points).
7 Fix the unit and holder with the 4 supplied screws.
NOTES
When you align the holder, spacer, and slots of the main unit, the screw
holes will be aligned.
If the screws do not fit, return to step 4 and reattach the parts.

8 Place a cushion on both sides. Be sure that the cushions do not
stick out from the indentations.
Attaching the tablet to the holder
Attachable tablet: SDA-8TAB, SDA-80TAB (sold separately)
1 Remove the cover of the detach connector.
2 Hold the tablet with both hands and hook the tablet onto the
upper arms of the holder.

3 Push the tablet until it clicks into place.
Detaching the tablet from the holder
Push the button on the bottom of the holder to release the tablet.
Pull the tablet up off of the upper arms. Be sure not to drop the tablet.

Checking the operation
Once connection and installation are completed, perform
the following operations and make sure that the unit
operates normally.
1 Check the connection and installation again.
NOTE
Check if there is an error in the connection and installation and check that
each connector is securely connected.
2 Attach the tablet to the holder.
3 Turn on the ignition.
4 Check the operation of this unit.
5 Check the power and turn off the ignition before moving on to
the next process.
Securing the tablet to the holder
1 With the tablet attached to the holder, attach the supplied
removable screw to the screw hole on the bottom of the holder.
NOTES
When it is not necessary to detach the tablet, secure it to the holder with a
supplied removable screw.
If you have removed the removable screw, please keep it in a safe place.

When exchanging the tablet (for example, when the tablet is broken or is
being exchanged for a new tablet, etc.), press the + and – buttons at the
same time for approximately 5 seconds to reset the settings.

1 Plug a USB storage device into the USB cable.
NOTES
This product may not achieve optimum performance with some USB
storage devices.
Connection via a USB hub is not possible.

Check that no data is being accessed before pulling out the USB storage

WARNING
When speaker output is used by 4
channels, use speakers over
50 W (maximum input power) and
between 4 Ω to 8 Ω (impedance
value). Do not use 1 Ω to 3 Ω
speakers for this unit.
When rear speaker output is used
by 2 Ω of subwoofer, use speakers
over 70 W (maximum input
power).
* Please refer to connections for a

The black cable is ground. When
installing this unit or power amp
(sold separately), make sure to
connect the ground wire first.
Ensure that the ground wire is
properly connected to metal parts
of the car’s body. The ground wire
of the power amp and the one
of this unit or any other device
must be connected to the car
separately with different screws.
If the screw for the ground wire
loosens or falls out, it could result
in fire, generation of smoke or
malfunction.

Important
When installing this unit in a
vehicle without an ACC (accessory)
position on the ignition switch,
failure to connect the red cable
to the terminal that detects
operation of the ignition key may
result in battery drain.

and negative grounding only.
Failure to do so may result in a fire
or malfunction.
To prevent a short-circuit,
overheating or malfunction, be
sure to follow the directions below.
Disconnect the negative terminal
of the battery before installation.
Secure the wiring with cable
clamps or adhesive tape. Wrap
adhesive tape around wiring that
comes into contact with metal
parts to protect the wiring.
Place all cables away from
moving parts, such as the shift
lever and seat rails.
Place all cables away from hot
places, such as near the heater
outlet.
Do not connect the yellow cable
to the battery by passing it
through the hole to the engine
compartment.
Cover any disconnected cable
connectors with insulating tape.
Do not shorten any cables.
Never cut the insulation of the
power cable of this unit in order
to share the power with other
devices. The current capacity of
the cable is limited.
Use a fuse of the rating
prescribed.
Never wire the negative speaker
cable directly to ground.
Never band together negative
cables of multiple speakers.
When this unit is on, control
signals are sent through the blue/
white cable. Connect this cable
to the system remote control
of an external power amp or
the vehicles auto-antenna relay
control terminal (max. 300 mA
12 V DC). If the vehicle is equipped
with a glass antenna, connect it to
the antenna booster power supply
terminal.
Never connect the blue/white
cable to the power terminal of an
external power amp. Also, never
connect it to the power terminal
of the auto antenna. Doing so
may result in battery drain or a
malfunction.

When you use the rear view camera,

the gearstick to REVERSE (R).
Camera View mode also allows you

places such as near the heater

Optimum performance
is obtained when the
unit is installed at an
angle of less than 45°.
When installing, to ensure proper
heat dispersal when using this
unit, make sure you leave ample
space behind the rear panel and
wrap any loose cables so they are
not blocking the vents.

1 Remove the trim ring.

microphone
The microphone should be placed
directly in front of the driver at a
suitable distance to pick up their
voice clearly.

CAUTION
It is extremely dangerous to allow
the microphone lead to become
wound around the steering column
or shift lever. Be sure to install the
microphone in such a way that
it will not obstruct driving. It is
recommended to use the clamps
(sold separately) to arrange the
lead.
NOTE
Depending on the vehicle model,
the microphone cable length may
be too short when you mount the
microphone on the sun visor. In
such cases, install the microphone
on the steering column.

Fixer le support
Veuillez fixer le support après avoir installé l’unité
principale dans le tableau de bord.
1 Retirez le câble de l’appareil.
2 Collez la feuille sur l’unité principale pour recouvrir le trou.
Recouvrez la partie supérieure ou la partie inférieure de
l’ouverture en fonction de la position d’installation.

3 Faites passer le câble à travers le trou du centre de l’entretoise.
Il y a deux entretoises. Ajoutez des entretoises pour la
profondeur, le cas échéant.
Si vous n’utilisez pas d’entretoise, passez directement à l’étape5.
4 Alignez les fentes de l’arrière de l’entretoise avec les saillies de
l’unité principale et fixez-la (3points de fixation).
Fixez-la à la partie supérieure ou à la partie inférieure, en
fonction de la position d’installation.
