Intended use
Theproductisdesignedtoautomaticallyturnaconnectedelectricapplianceon/o
dependent on the ambient brightness. The switch-on time can be manually shortened
to2, 4,6 or8 hours.The productcan beturned on/omanually ifnecessary. The
product features a child safety device as well as a red LED status light. The power
consumption of the connected electric appliance may not exceed 1000 W. Power is
supplied via a normal household power outlet.
The product is splash proof and suitable for outdoor use (IP44).
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may
be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting,
re, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefullyand keep them.Make this
product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the

• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may
become dangerous playing material for children.
• Protecttheproductfromextremetemperatures,strongjolts,ammable
gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of
operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no
longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a
low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices
which are connected to the product.
• Only use a properly installed mains outlet of the public power supply as
a power source.
• The product must be easily accessible at any time.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• Unplug the product from the power outlet for extended periods of disuse.
• For safety reasons, unplug the product from the power outlet during
electrical storms.
• Do not overload the product. Please heed the permissible connected load
speciedundertechnicaldata.
• Do not connect any electric appliances with heating elements to the
product.Thisposesarehazard!
• Do not connect the product in series! This could result in overloading the
product.Thisposesarehazard!Connectthepowerplugoftheproduct
directly to a wall socket. Do not connect any additional timers or power
strips to the product.
• Do not operate the product when covered! Higher connected loads cause
the product to warm up. If covered, this may lead to overheating and even
are.
• The product must be unplugged in order to fully disconnect it from the
mains.
• The product features a child safety device. The power outlet activates
only when both prongs of a power plug are inserted simultaneously into
the power outlet opening. Still exercise caution when using the product in
the vicinity of children. Children cannot recognize the hazards posed by
improperly using electric devices. This poses a risk of fatal electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold
room into a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the
product. Always allow the product to reach room temperature before use.

• Never pour liquids over electric devices and never place liquid-lled
objects near the device. If liquid or an object enters the interior of the
devicenevertheless,rstpowerdowntherespectivesocket(e.g.switch
ocircuitbreaker)andthenpullthemainsplugfromthemainssocket.
Do not operate the product anymore afterwards, but take it to a specialist
workshop.

Installation site
a) General
• There should be no lights near the power outlet to prevent malfunction.
• The twilight sensor needs to be fully exposed and shall not be covered in any way.
• The arrow on the rating plate must face upward.
b) Indoor use
• The wall power outlet to which you connect the product must be located in an
indoorspacewithawindowinorderforthetwilightsensortodierentiatebetween
night and day.
• However, the power outlet should not be located directly next to the window to
avoid direct sunlight.
c) Outdoor use
Toensuretheproduct‘ssplashproofrating,youmustfulllthefollowing:
• Plug the product into an outdoor splash-proof power outlet.
• The power plug of the electric appliance you wish to connect to the product must
also be splash proof.
• Close the cover when no electric appliance is connected to the product.
Operation
• Turnotheelectricapplianceyouwishtoconnect.
• Plug the electric appliance into the power outlet on the product.
• Plug the product into a common household power outlet.
• Switch on the electric appliance.
• Select the desired mode using the set wheel. The arrow above the set wheel points
at the selected mode.
• To disconnect the electric appliance from the product, rst turn o the electric
appliance. Then unplug the product from the power outlet. Now you may unplug the
electric appliance from the product.
Some commercially available power adapters may not be connected to the
product due to its design.

Twilight mode: The electric appliance turns on automatically in increasing
darkness. The electric appliance turns o automatically in increasing
light.
Ifyouselectadierentmodewhileaprogramisactive,theactiveprogram
is interrupted and replaced by the selected mode immediately.
If countdown mode is active and the ambient brightness increases, the
electricappliancewillturnobeforethecountdownelapses.
The most recently selected mode repeats daily.
LED status light
• The LED status light lights up constantly when the product‘s power outlet is
activated.
• The LED status light goes out when the product‘s power outlet is deactivated.
Maintenance and cleaning
• This product does not require maintenance. There are no user-serviceable
parts inside the product. Therefore, do never open/dismantle the product. Have
maintenanceandrepairsdonebyqualiedexpertsorrepairshopsonly.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Never submerge the product in water or other liquids.
• Never point any water jet, such as that of a high-pressure cleaner, at the product.
• Disconnect the product from the power outlet and from the connected electric
appliance before cleaning.
• Tocleantheproduct,adry,softandcleanclothissucient.Donotapplytoomuch
pressure to the housing to prevent scratching.
• You can use a long-haired, soft and clean brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove
dust.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.
