REMOVE PACKAGING & INSPECT WINDOW
MATERIALS
Note! Follow all material manufacturers’ instructions for proper use
and compatibility.
•13/4"galvanizedroongnails.Nailsmustpenetrateatleast1"into
framing (or as required by local code).
•#10x31/2"corrosionresistantpanheadscrews.Screwsmust
penetrate at least 1" into framing (or as required by local code).
•Nonwater-degradableorcompressibleshimstolevelthesill
•JELD-WEN4"wideself-adhesiveashingorequivalent(9"ifrequired
by local code)
•ProtectoWrapSafsealSystems5500sprayadhesive/primer(oras
recommended by the self-adhesive ashing manufacturer)
REMOVE PACKAGING
Remove shipping materials such as corner covers, shipping blocks or
pads. If there is a protective lm on the glass, do not remove it until
installation and construction are complete.
INSPECT YOUR WINDOW
•Cosmeticdamage
•Productsquareness(diagonalmeasurementsnotmorethan1/8"
different)
•Correctproduct(size,color,gridpattern,handing,glazing,energy-
efciency requirements, etc.)
•Crackedframewelds
•Splits,cracks,holes,missingsectionsorotherdamagetothenailing
n longer than 6" and/or within 1/2" of window frame
•Forunitswithintegralheadandseatboards,ensurethetopofthe
mull joints are covered and sealed with silicone.

•Storewindowindry,well-ventilatedareainvertical,leaningposition
toallowaircirculation;donotstackhorizontally.
•Protectfromexposuretodirectsunlightduringstorage.
•Installonlywhenconditionsandsheathingaredry.
