LocatetheFIND,STOWandPOWERbuttonsontheNomad2:
Ø Readthefollowingstepscarefullybeforebeginning
· PressandholddowntogethertheFINDandSTOWbuttons,while
continuingtohold…..
· Pressthe POWERbuttononceandrelease
· ContinueholdingdowntheFINDandSTOWbuttonsforanadditional 5
seconds.
Ø ThiswillputtheNomad2intoaProgramMode.
Step3:
RefertotheProgramming OptionstodeterminewhatProgramModesettingsyouwill
needforthetypeofMotoSATsystemyouhave:
Ø UsetheFINDorSTOW buttontonavigatethroughthedifferentsettingsonthe
frontLEDpaneloftheNo mad2.
Ø WhenthelightconfigurationontheNomad2matchestheProgr ammingOptions
pressthePOWERbuttontoturn off theNomad2.
Ø Thiswillstoretheconfigurationthatyouhaveset.
Step4:
TurnontheNomad2bypressingthePOWERbutton.Wait5secondsfortheNomad2to
performstartupsequences.
TESTDISH

Tocompletea“TestDish”:
Ø Turnpoweron
Ø Pushboth theFINDandSTOWbuttonsatthesametime.
Ø Youwill seetheSTOWlight blink.Itisindicatingthatthedishismoving.
Ø When theTestDishiscompleted,theSTOWlightwillstop blinkingandgosolid.

lockedontoasatellitewilldirectthesystemtogotothenextsatelliteinorder
suchas:

Pressingthisbuttonreturnsthedishtoitsstowedortravelposition.

FRONT PANEL LED’S
LNB: Whenlit,thisLEDindicatesthecoaxcablefromtherece iverhasbeencorrectly
connectedtotheNOMAD2UniversalController,andthereceiverhaspower.(Note:
TheLNBLEDisilluminatedoncetheco axcableofthereceiverhasbeenconnected,but
doesNOTindicatetheCont rollerhaspower).
LOCK: Whenlit,thisLEDindicatesthe“strongest”orhighest”s ignalstrengthofthe
satellitehasbeenachievedandislockedontothedesiredsatellite.
DVB:Whenlit,indicatesthattheDVB(DigitalVideoBroadcast)is poweredupand
readytoidentifysatellites.
PEAK:Whenlit,thisLEDindicatesthedishhasfoundasignalandisadjustingforthe
“strongest”orhighest”signalstrengt hofthesatellite. Itwillturnoffaftersatellite
“Lock”hasbeenachieved.
FIND:Whenthe“Find”buttonhasbeenpressed,theFindLEDwillblink(indicating
thatthedishismoving)unt ilasatellitehasbeenfoundand identifiedandcant hen
establishaconnection.Oncethesatellitehasbeenidentified,theFindLEDwill remain
solid.(TheStowLEDalsoblinkswhenmotorsaremoving.)IftheNomad2islocked
ontoasatellitewithaskewabledish,pressingthe“Find”buttonagainwillactivateare
peakroutinewhichwillverifythedishalignmenttothesatelliteforoptimumsignallevel
fortheskewabledishes,theMD500(forDishNetwor k)andtheMHDTV(forDirecTV).
PressingtheFindbuttononnonskewabledishes(Executive18”and24”)allowsyouto
togglebetweensatellitesifsoprogrammedtodoso.
STOW:Whenthe“Stow”buttonispressed,theStowLEDwillblinkindicatingmotor
movementasthedishisbeingstowed.Oncethedishhasbeenstowed,theStowLED
willremainsolidforashortperiodoftimeandthenthepowerwillautomaticallyturnoff.

wellasantennasize,ontheStarC hoiceSatellites.Youwillbeabletolockon
satelliteo utsideofthes pecifiedareabutmaynobeabletolockonsatelliteinthe
zonemarked.This limitedcoveragemayextendpastthemarkedareabutisknown
tobeaproblemwithinthisarea.Asoftheprintingofthismanualthereisnota
solutio nfortheM SC60andHDSC2 systemsworkingproperlywithinthisarea.

maynowberotatedmanually.
2. Gototheroofwhereyoucancarefullyapplyaslightcontinuousamountof
forceto movethedishintoanacceptablepositionfortraveling.InAzimuth,
rotatethemountinacounterclockwisedirectiontomovetotheproper
stowedposition.
3. Plugthe“Green”9pinconnectorbackintotheNomad2.
4. CallTechSupportwhenyoucanperformadditionaltroubleshooting.
Ifyouareunabletogoontotheroof
Thedishcanbemanipulatedbyapplying12voltDCpowertospecificwiresin
thecontrolcablelocatedinthebackof theNOMAD2(seeControlCableConnector on
RearConnectionpage.) The12VoltsgoingtoyourNOMAD2controller’s3pin
green”connector(seePowerConnectionsonRearConnectionpage)canbeusedasthe
12voltDCpowersource.
