Operating elements and
displays (Fig. E)
1 Temperature display LED (Stage I)
The LED indicates a temperature of approx. 35 °C when lit.
2 Temperature display LED
The LED indicates a temperature of approx. 45 °C when lit.
3 Temperature display LED (Stage e)
The LED indicates a temperature of approx. 55 °C when lit.
4 Temperature display LED
The LED indicates a temperature of approx. 65 °C when lit.
5 Temperature display LED (Stage III)
The LED indicates a temperature of approx. 75 °C when lit.
Note: Flashing of one of the individual LEDs 1–5 indicates
heating in this temperature range.
6 Button
The appliance can be switched between heating and frost
protection mode with button 6.
In frost protection mode the appliance will automatically
ensure that the water temperature is at approx. 10 °C, the
tank is thus protected against frost. Only red LED 9 will light.
7 Selection button +
The required temperature can be displayed and increased
with button 7.
8 Selection button –
The required temperature can be displayed and reduced with
button 8.
Note “Heat once”: If buttons 7 and 8 are pressed
simultaneously for approx. 3 seconds the tank will heat up
once to the set temperature. This temperature can be
changed with buttons 7 + and 8 – just for this “heat once”
setting. Only orange LED 9 will light. After the set
temperature is achieved the appliance will immediately
reassume the previously set operating state.
The “heat once” function is possible in heating as well as
frost protection mode.
Note: Cancel the “heat once” function by simultaneously
pressing buttons 7 and 8 (return to previous operating state)
or by pressing button 6 (frost protection mode).
9 Operational display
The LED lights red as long as the appliance is connected to
the mains supply and indicates that the tank is operational.
The LED lights orange for the “heat once” function.
The LED flashes red to indicate a malfunction.
Important: Flashing of one of the individual LEDs 1–5 in
combination with the flashing red LED 9 of the operational
display indicates the malfunction.
Operation
■ The appliance is switched over to heating operation with
button 6.
LED 3 lights and thus indicates the preset temperature
stage e (approx. 55 °C, factory setting). Heating
commences after about 10 seconds, LED 3 goes off and
the tank heats up to about 55 °C.
During the heating up phase the LEDs flash consecutively
and light up permanently in order to indicate the water
temperature already achieved. The set temperature is
achieved as soon as all LEDs light up.
■ Note: Only the set temperature will light if button + or – is
pressed.
Display set temperature
Press button 7 or 8 once in order to display the set
temperature. The set temperature is indicated by lighting of
the corresponding LED.
Changingg set temperature
■ Press button 7 + to increase the set temperature or button
8 – to reduce it. The new set temperature is indicated by
lighting of the corresponding LED. Heating commences
after about 10 seconds without pressing the buttons.
■ During the heating up phase the LEDs light up
consecutively in order to indicate the water temperature
already achieved.
■ If the water temperature is higher than the newly set
temperature, all the LEDs will switch off over time until the
new water temperature is achieved.
Example: Increase set temperature
The water temperature and the set temperature are approx.
55 °C, the LEDs 1, 2 and 3 light up. The new desired
temperature is approx. 75 °C.
■ Press button 7 + once, only LED 3 lights and indicates the
temperature currently set.
■ Press button 7 + twice until LED 5 lights up.
The heating process will commence after approx. 10
seconds, LED 5 switches off, LED 1, 2 and 3 will light
again to indicate the temperature already achieved while
LED 4 flashes to indicate that heating up continues. The
set temperature is achieved as soon as all five LEDs light
up.
Example: Reduce set temperature
The water temperature and the set temperature are approx.
75 °C, all five LEDs light up. The new desired temperature is
approx. 45 °C.
■ Press button 8 – once, only LED 5 lights and indicates the
temperature currently set.
■ Press button 8 – three times until LED 2 (approx. 45 °C)
lights up.
The new value becomes effective after approx. 10
seconds and heating is discontinued. The appliance cools
down and the LEDs switch off over time until the set
temperature is reached. LEDs 1 and 2 light up.
Note: If the temperature drops, e.g. when water is used, the
heating switches back on automatically. The LED flashes
until the temperature is achieved.
Tip Water loss and scaling are at their lowest at water
temperature setting stage e (approx. 55 °C, LED 3).
