Barco iQ G350 is a high-performance projector designed for professional applications. It features a native SXGA+ resolution (1400x1050), a brightness of 5000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 2000:1. The projector also has a variety of features that make it ideal for use in large venues, including a motorized lens, a built-in speaker, and a variety of input and output options.

Here are some of the key features and possible use cases for the Barco iQ G350:

  • High brightness and contrast ratio: The projector's high brightness and contrast ratio make it ideal for use in large venues, even in brightly lit conditions. This makes it a good choice for applications such as auditoriums, lecture halls, and conference rooms.

NEW SOFTWARE VERSION FOR THE IQ REALITY
(SXGA+) VERSION
Software split
This InfoT informs on the introduction of the new generation of SXGA+ resolution versions for the iQ pro-
jectors. This
required a software split resulting in 2 different software versions being V2.0 for the new
SXGA+ versions and the existing soft updated to V1.4 for XGA & SXGA version.
No actions are necessary for this InfoT.
Software upgrade to V1.4 is only recommended if one of the new features mentioned
below is required.

New PMP = New Soft V2.0
Introduction to SXGA+
The introduction of the 1.4 panels for the iQ
projector required some changes in optics (new light rod and
analyzers combined with a wide view film for light output and contrast enhancement ), the same software
was updated to V1.4 while the panel aspect ratio remained unchanged (4:3).
Note that the LCD driver has also been adapted.
On the other hand the introduction of the new generation 1400x1050 (SXGA+) reality panels required
some hardware changes in the pixel Ma
p processing (new FPGA). Therefore a new PMP (spare =
R764438K) has been developed.
This new PMP requires the new software version V2.0.

New features/modifications
Support for new input boards on layer1 & layer2 (up to UXGA 60 Hz)
Aspect ratio can now be customized : a dialog box allows the setting of the width and height of the
image (also in PiP for the active window)
Blanking is now possible on both display via the Display settings menu (not memorized) and on the
Image file via the Image menu ( blanking is saved in the file). see menus below
Positioning of a window can now also happen partially outside the visible area.
Learning process for fans & airflow error :
The first100 hoursaprojectorisrunningin dualmode, no airflowerrors willbe given. In fact theairflow
error popup is skipped 2 times (after 2 airflow errors ). Since the filters should be clean in the first 100
hours one may suspect the fan speed not to be high enough (tolerances in speed/voltage character-
istics) therefore, instead of displaying the popup, a fan voltage adaptation is done (increase of the
voltage) twice ( after each airflow error detection). After these 2 adaptations or after the max voltage
is reached the popup will be shown at next projector start up.

For the units in the field the learning process will only be started after th
e dust filter kit has been
replaced and the runtime for the filters is reset in the Service book (service menu).
Gemini : this option is necessary when the iQ is used in a Gemini 2 channel CADWALL system.
By enabling Gemini the restrictions relative to the allowed difference in the number of total pixels are
adapted.
Note that the default setting is NO.
Composite video was sometimes displayed in Black & White : problem sol
ved in this version.
File load : All files that are within limits (total lines and line duration) can now be loaded (in the former
versions not all the files were shown ).

New commands/modifications in RS232
Desktop definition : the projector can be defined as part of a multichannel screen. The area of the
image to be handled by the projector can be set through a serial command.
Viewport definition: This command allows to select only a certain portion of the image to be visible.
Blanking : this command has been updated by adding one additional byte which allows to specify
whether the blanking has to be done on the display or on the file (saved in the image file)
PiP free Window size: window can now be re-sized without preserving the native aspect ratio.
PiP free Window position : window can now be positioned even partially outside the visible area.
For more details on the serial commands Please use the manual R5976449_05 (revision
5) available on the PartnerZone : h

Sofware update
This software update to V1.4 is not a must !
Never try to download the software V2.0 on the non SXGA+ versions ! This software is
not compatible with the hardware of the non SXGA+ versions (different PMP, ...).
Software version 2.0
New features/modifications
V2.0 regroups all the features of the V1.4 software with following additional features:
Desktop integration for the iQ Pro version : the Pro version has now a permanent desktop meaning
PiP management can be done via the iQ Pro server desktop.
Color keying for the iQ Pro version : color keying can be done on the iQ Pro server desktop allowing
a flexible PiP environment.
OSD transparency
Note that desktop integration and color keying will only be possible in combination with
iQ Pro server s o ftwa re V1.2.
