C THE WAND
9 Generally, the wand can do anything a normal blender can do, but faster, and with less
washing up – make mayonnaise, milkshakes, smoothies, or fruit drinks in the beaker. You can
blend, pulp or purée ingredients in the pan or bowl youre going to cook them in.
10 Whatever container you use, make sure its on a stable, flat surface, and support it with your
free hand, to prevent it wandering over the work surface.
11 Don’t immerse the wand past the top of the parallel-sided tube.
12 When using it in hot liquids, don’t let the blade break the surface at an angle, as you might
spray liquid outside the bowl/pan/container.
13 Don’t switch on till the blade is inside the food container.
14 Switch off before lifting the blade from the food container.
C THE WHISK
15 Generally speaking, while you use the wand to replace a blender, use the whisk where you
would have normally used a balloon whisk, but let the handle do the work, instead of your
arm muscles.
16 Push the whisk into the bottom of the whisk holder.
17 To remove the whisk, simply pull it out of the bottom of the whisk holder,
, Don’t immerse the whisk past the bottom of the whisk holder.
C THE CHOPPER
18 You can use the chopper as a mini food processor.
19 Unplug the handle.
20 Hold the plastic part of the chopper – keep your fingers well clear of the blade.
21 Lower it into the bowl, over the spindle in the bottom of the bowl.
22 Add the ingredients – don’t fill the bowl above the 450ml mark.
23 Fit the bowl lid – the top of the chopper fits into the drive in the underside of the lid.
24 Fit the handle to the top of the bowl lid.
25 Use the chopper in bursts of a few seconds, otherwise you risk overdoing it.
26 Unplug the handle, then remove the handle from the lid.
27 Lift the lid gently from the bowl – take care that any drips fall into the bowl.
28 Lift the chopper only by the plastic part.
29 For storage, you may use the non-slip base as a lid.
C THE MASHER
30 Use the masher only with well boiled vegetables – if the vegetables are hard, you’ll break the
masher.
, Don’t immerse the masher past its top, to prevent food getting inside the handle.
31 Sit the food container on a stable, flat surface, and support it with your free hand.
32 Use the masher at low speed, in bursts of 1 or 2 seconds at a time, with a break of at least 1
second between bursts.
33 Don’t use it for more than a minute, at 2 seconds on/1 second off.
C THE BEAKER
34 Don’t fill the beaker more than about half full.
35 Sit it on a stable, flat work surface, and support it with your free hand.
36 Don’t lift it off the work surface and hold it in your hand – if it slips, you’ll hurt yourself.
