Hydraulic Motorised Pipe Benders
Model No. HHW-2D, HHW-3D, HHW-4D
WARNING: Read carefully and understand all the INSTRUCTIONS
before operating. Failure to follow the safety rules and other basic safety
precautions may result in serious personal injury. It is recommended that
these INSTRUCTIONS be kept readily available as an important reference
when using this Pipe Bending Tool.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING : When using this pipe bending tool, the following safety instructions must be observed to
reduce the risk of personal injury and property damage.
Please read and observe the following instructions before use.
1.
Keep work area clean
An untidy and cluttered work area increases the risk of accidents.
2.
Use eye protection
Always use safety glasses or goggles. A facemask should also be worn when dust is generated.
3.
Wear suitable work clothes
Don't wear loose fitting clothes or jewellery. They can be caught in moving parts and may cause injury.
For outdoor work rubber gloves and non-stick footwear are advised.
Wear a protective hair net to contain long hair.
4.
Guard against electric shock
Avoid any body contact with grounded surfaces eg.pipes, radiators, stoves, and refrigerator enclosures.
5.
Keep children away
Children should be kept away from the work area. Do not permit them to handle the tool or tool cable.
6.
Secure the work pieces
Use clamps or a vice to hold work. This will free up both hands to operate the tool, which is safer.
7.
Do not stand in front of the bender ram during bending operation
Stay away from the front direction of the bender ram to avoid any possible personal injury.
8.
Do not overload or exceed the max stroke
NEVER run the bender without a pipe against the bending former. When the bender ram has reached
max stroke, or when the bender has finished 90 degree bending, the operator MUST stop pumping and
retract the ram. Failure to do so may lead to flyout of bender parts and cause dangerous results.
9.
Check for damage
Before further use always check the protection guards carefully to ensure proper operation & performance.
Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mountings and any other
condition that may effect the tools operation. An authorised service dealer should properly repair all
damaged parts unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in the instruction manual.
10.
Pull out power plug
When changing accessories or when the tool is not in use.
11.
Avoid unintentional starting
Do not carry tools by the switch. Always check that the switch is in the off position before connecting to
power source.
12.
Don't abuse power cable
Never carry the tool by the power cable. Do not use the power cable to pull the plug out of the power point.
The cable should also be protected from heat, oil and sharp objects.
13.Storage
When not in use your power tools should be stored in a dry area, which is not accessible to children.
14.
Stay alert
Do not use the tool when you are tired. Use common sense and watch what you are doing.
15.
Remove keys and spanners
Do not forget to remove any adjustment keys, spanners and wrenches before switching on the tool.
16.
Voltage warning
Before connecting the tool to the power source ensure the voltage specified on the nameplate is the same
as the voltage supply. A power source with voltage greater than specified on the tool can cause serious
injury and damage to the tool. Using a power source with voltage less than the tool rating can cause
damage to the motor. Do not plug in tool if you are in doubt.
17.
Recommended use
Please note the use of tools other than those described in instruction manuals or in the product catalogues
can result in a risk of personal injury.
FEATURES
TLP HYDRAULIC MOTORISED PIPE BENDERS WITH POWER PACK are designed for
bending thick-walled pipes (black iron, schedule 40 &80, etc). There are six different bending dies
ranging from 1/2" to 2" for Item# HHW-2D, eight different bending dies ranging from 1/2" to 3"
for Item# HHW-3D and nine different bending dies ranging from 1/2" to 4" for Item# HHW-4D.
The Hydraulic Pipe Benders are NOT designed for bending thin-walled pipes.
We strongly recommend the machines are not modified and/or used for any application other than
that for which they were designed. Failure to follow this will lead to termination of waranty.

ASSEMBLING
Step 1: The Hydraulic Motorised Pipe Benders are packing in wooden cases. First open the wooden case
and take out all the contents.
Step 2: Turn over the cylinder unit and remove the four hex bolts on the Housing Base(#16). Align the
four holes of the Lower Plate(#22) with the holes of the Housing Base(#16), and affix with the
four hex bolts.
Step 3: Turn the cylinder unit with lower plate over and put both Swaging Blocks(#24) and shafts(#25)
in hole of the Lower Plate(#22).
Step 4: Attach and secure the Upper Plate(#26) to the Housing Base(#16) with Hinge Pin(#17). Place
the Upper Plate(#26) over the Swaging Blocks(#24).
Step 5: Fill hydraulic oil in the power pack, and check its level with oil gauge which already fitted in oil
tank. (Use always Hydraulic oil grade HV15)
Step 6: There are two hoses supplied with the Power Pack. One is high pressure hose in black color, the
other is soft transparent hose. Connect the black high pressure hose to the Coupler(#2) on the cylinder
unit. Then connect one end of the soft transparent hose to the Adaptor(#3) on the cylinder unit, and
insert the other end into the Oil Filling Port of the Power Pack. This soft transparent hose is for the oil
returning back to the power pack after bending operation.
Step 7: Check the the power cable and socket supplied with the power pack. Make sure they are in
good conditions and in accord with local power supply and security standards.
OPERATION
1.
Lift the upper plate (#26) and affix the selected bending former to the end of the cylinder ram
as shown in below picture.
2.
Place two swaging blocks into the corresponding holes of the lower plate, insert pipe between the
bending former and swaging blocks.Turn the swaging blocks so their grooves face toward the bending
former. To account for the pipe shortening during the bending process, make sure the pipe extends
beyond the swaging blocks, as shown in Figure 3.
3.
Down upper plate
4.
Tighten the release knob (#35) by turning clockwise.
5.
Loosen the oil filling cap on the power pack.
6.
Connect the power cable and socket to POWER SUPPLY.
7.
Turn the valve handle of the power pack to the side of OIL OUTLET port.
Switch the power pack ON to start bending job until its desired angle.
8.
When the bending job is finished, release the pressure by opening the release valve. The ram will
automatically retreat. Lift the upper plate to take out the bent tube.
