Introduction
Some customers have a problem with installing a 3 inches dome. After adjusting the viewing
angle, zoom or focus, the lens part will be moved again by the rubber and black plastic cover
when they closing the dome cover. The purpose of this document is to guide customer through
the procedures of installing a 3 inches dome efficiently.
Installation of camera plate
1. Use the drill template, and drill a hole with φ 35 on the ceiling.

2. Fasten the plate with the camera.
3. Mark on the plate in the direction of the ACTi logo. (the butterfly)
4. Put the camera under ceiling. Adjust the ACTi logo on the camera (the butterfly) toward
the area or object you want to shoot.
5. Mark on the ceiling in the direction of the ACTi logo (the butterfly).

6. Remove the camera from the plate. Tighten the plate to ceiling with M4*20 screws. Make
sure the mark on the plate aims at the mark of step 5.

7. Connect cables through the hole on the ceiling and plate, or on the side of
casing.

8. Fasten the camera to ceiling by turning clockwise direction.
9. Insert the cable (power/Network/audio) through the mounting plate and
connect to the camera. Then use the little strap in bundled accessory to fasten
the network cable.

10. Fasten the camera to the ceiling. The ACTi logo (the butterfly) should now be
toward to the area or object you want to shoot.

11. Remove the front cover
12. Adjust the zoom or focus of the lens. (the lens and the ACTi logo should align
and be toward the area or object you want to shoot)

13. Once you finish the adjustment, pan the lens counterclockwise for around 90
degrees to aim to the arrow on the camera cover.
14. Fasten the front cover to the camera by turning clockwise direction as quickly as
possible. The lens would be moved back to align to the ACti logo.

Future design and improvement
15. In the next generation dome products, the front cover will be fastened to
camera by screws. Since we don't need to turn the front cover, the lens won't be
moved after adjustment.
