Before start-up please read the operating
instructions for your unit and comply in particular
with these safety instructions.
The warning and information signs attached to
the unit provide important information for safe
operation.
Apart from the information in the operating
instructions comply with the general safety
regulations and regulations for the prevention of
accidents.
Application
Before use, check that the unit and operating
equipment, in particular the power supply cable
and the extension lead, are in perfect condition
and are safe to operate. Do not use the unit if it
is not in perfect condition.
Never draw in explosive liquids, combustible
gases, explosive dust, undiluted acids or
solvents! This includes petrol, paint thinners and
heating oil as these form explosive vapours or
mixtures when mixed with the suction air; also
acetone, undiluted acids and solvents as these
corrode the materials used on the unit.
Do not draw in burning or glowing objects.
Do not direct the unit at people or animals.
The appropriate safety regulations must be ob-
served when using the unit in dangerous areas
(e.g. petrol stations). It is forbidden to operate
the unit in potentially explosive locations.
Keep work area clean
Cluttered areas and benches can cause
accidents.
Consider work area environment
Do not expose the unit to humidity. Keep work
area well lit. Do not use the unit in the presence
of inflammable liquids or gases.
Guard against electric shock
Prevent body contact with earthed surfaces (e.g.
pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators).
For use under extreme conditions (e.g. high
humidity, when metal swarf is being produced,
etc.) electric safety can be improved by inserting
an isolating transformer or a (FI) earth-leakage
circuit-breaker.
Keep children away
Do not let children come into contact with the unit
or extension cord. Keep all people away from the
work area.
Extension cords for outdoor use
When the unit is used outdoors, always use
extension cords intended for outdoor use and
marked accordingly.
Store idle unit
When not in use, the unit must be stored in a dry
place and locked up securely, out of reach of
children.
Do not abuse cord
Never carry the unit by its cord or pull it to
disconnect from the socket. Keep the cord away
from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Check for damaged parts
Before using the unit, carefully check it for
damage to ensure that it will operate properly
and perform its intended function. Check for
misalignment and seizure of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other conditions that
may affect its operation. Have damaged guards
or other defective parts repaired or replaced as
instructed.
Do not use the unit if the switch is defective.
Have the switch replaced by an authorized
DeWALT repair agent.

4. Use
Note:The flat folding filter must always remain
fitted in the suction unit.
The vacuum cleaner is not suited for sucking up
health-endangering dusts, such as asbestos.
The unit is electrically conductive. Accessories
must be antistatic for this to be effective.
The cleaner has 2 operating modes selectable
via a rotary switch.
Position 1
for dry suction and wet suction
0
1
2
Industrial vacuum cleaner mode (IS)
Position 2
for Automatic Mode via Socket
0
1
2
small vacuum extractor mode (EOB)
4.1 Automatic Mode via Socket
When the cleaner is being used in con-
junction with an electric appliance, the latter
is plugged into the grounded outlet of the
cleaner, and the switch is set to position 2.
The cleaner is then automatically switched
on and off with the electrical appliance.
Note:The built-in electronic system has a start-
delay for the suction turbine of 0.5 s and a run-
on time of 15 s. Electrical appliances of 150-
2100 W can be connected.
Attention:
The unit must not be connected if the
connection piece diameter of the dust-ge-
nerating electric tool is larger than the dia-
meter of the suction hose.
Important note:
The unit does not have a low-voltage re-
lease for the integrated socket, therefore
always switch off the electric tool (operating
device) in order to prevent it from uninten-
tionally starting up when the extraction unit
is restarted. DANGER OF ACCIDENTS!
4.2 Dry suction
You can suck up dry dirt without any problem
both with and without a paper filter bag.
We recommend that you always use the paper
filter bag for sucking up fine dirt.
The paper filter bag gives you:
- significantly higher dust holding capacity.
- simple and hygienic dust disposal.
Operation with compressed-air operated
hand-controlled machines
Rotary switch position 1
When switching on the unit, the dust extractor
must be switched on first, followed by the dust-
generating machine. When switching off the
unit, the sequence is carried out in reverse. The
minimum volumetric flow indicator is set during
automatic operation. If the volumetric flow drops
below the minimum, the signal lamp illuminates.
4.3 Wet suction
Always work without a paper filter bag.
Empty the dirt container to prevent sludge
formation.
The suction unit switches off automatically
when the dirt container is full.
Note: After emptying, press the On/Off switch
twice.
Never suck up explosive liquids (e.g. pet-
rol, diesel fuel, heating oil), acids or sol-
vents!

6. Care and Maintenance
Repairs may only be carried out by
specialists, and Original Spare Parts
must be used.
Always remove the mains plug from the
socket before carrying out any mainte-
nance work.
Regulation:
Safety devices which prevent or eliminate
dangers must be maintained on a regular basis
and the manufacturer or an authorized person
must check at least once a year that these safety
devices function properly, e.g. by checking for
leaks in the unit, damage to the filter, checking
the function of the monitoring devices.
You can carry out simple maintenance work by
yourself. First, always remove the mains plug
from the socket.
Daily inspection:
Visual check.
Monthly inspection:
Check for leaks in the unit.
Check for damage to the filter.
Annual inspection:
Annual overhaul – functions of the monito-
ring devices.
6.1 Paper filter bag
Change the paper filter bag as follows.
Open the container lock and lift off the motor
housing.
Pull the paper filter bag off the suction neck.
In doing so, hold it only by the card.
Push a new paper filter bag onto the suction
neck.
- Hold the filter only by the card.
4.4 Accessories (DN 35 mm)
- Suction hose, 4 m
- Adapter for standard tool connections
- Crevice nozzle
- 1 x paper filter bag
4,5 Parking brake
Your suction unit is fitted with a parking brake
which is actuated with the foot.
5. Storage
Switch off suction unit.
Wet dirt putrifies after a short period. You
should therefore empty and clean the dirt
container.
Wash out the accessories after sucking up
sticky liquids.
Wind up the mains cable and put it onto the
cable holder.
en - 6
ENGLISH
Note: Insert the paper filter bag only into a dry
container.
Place the motor housing onto the dirt contai-
ner and close the container.
6.2 Flat folding filter
How to clean the flat folded filter:
Switch off the vacuum and shake the filter by
pulling the filter shaker repeatedly.
How replace the flat folded filter.
Open the cover lock and hinge up the cover.
Remove the flat folding filter and tap it to
remove dirt.
Clean the filter under running water if the dirt
does not come free. (Next, allow the filter to
dry).
Only change the filter if the dirt is extremely
stubborn and cannot be washed out.
It is essential to use a new filter if the filter is
damaged.
Replace the filter.
Close and lock the cover.
6.3 Level electrodes
Your suction unit is protected from overfilling in
the case of wet suction by two electrodes.
The level electrodes must be cleaned if they
are heavily contaminated.
6.4 Dirt container
Open the container lock, remove the motor
housing, empty the dirt container and wash it out
if necessary.
6.5 Accessories
The suction hose can be rinsed out with water.
