GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR POWER TOOLS
1. KNOW YOUR TOOL
R
ead and understand the owners manual and labels affixed to
the tool. Learn its application and limitations as well as its
specific potential hazards.
2. GROUND THE TOOL.
This tool is equipped with an approved 3-conductor cord and
a 3-prong grounding type plug to fit the proper grounding type
receptacle. The green conductor in the cord is the grounding
wire.
NEVER connect the green wire to a live
terminal.
3. KEEP
GUARDS IN PLACE.
Keep in good working order, properly adjusted and aligned.
4. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES.
Form habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
wrenches are removed from tool before turning it on.
5. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN.
Cluttered areas and benches invite accidents. Make sure the
floor is clean and not slippery due to wax and sawdust
build-up.
6. AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT.
Don’t use power tools in damp or wet locations or expose
them to rain. Keep work area well lit and provide adequate
surrounding work space.
7. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY.
All visitors should be kept a safe distance from work area.
8. MAKE WORKSHOP CHILD-PROOF.

Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
14. MAINTAIN TOOL WITH CARE.
Keep tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance.
Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
15. DISCONNECT T
OOLS.
Before servicing, when changing accessories or attachments.
16. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING.
Make sure the swich is in the ‘’OFF’’ position before plugging
in.
17. USE RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES.
Consult the manual for recommended accessories. Follow the
instructions that accompany the accessories. The use of
improper accessories may cause hazards.
18. NEVER STAND ON TOOL.
Serious injury could occur if the tool tips over. Do not store
materials such that it is necessary to stand on the tool to reach
them.
19. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS.
Before further use of the tool, a guard or other parts that are
damaged should be carefully checked to ensure that they will
operate properly and perform their intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and
any other conditions that may affect its operation.

20. NEVER LEAVE MACHINE RUNNING

DOUBLE INSULATION TOOLS
Double Insulation is a design concept used in electric power tools which eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and
grounded power supply system. It is a recognized and approved system by Underwriter’s Laboratories, CSA and Federal OSHA
authorities.
IMPORTANT: Servicing of a tool with double insulation requires care and knowledge of the system and should be performed only by a
qualified service technician.
WHEN SERVICING, USE ONLY IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT PARTS OR THOSE RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
RESET BUTTON
This table saw comes with a reset button (next to the power switch). When the table saw motor overheats, a safety mechanism stops the
motor automatically. Press the reset button and restart the table saw. If the table saw does not restart, wait 5 minutes before restarting.
POLARIZED PLUGS: Your tool is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), this plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not change the plug in any way.
EXTENSION CORDS
WARNING:
Replace damaged cords immediately. Use of damaged cords can shock, burn or electrocute.
WARNING: Always use proper extension cord. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with adequate size conductors should be used to
prevent excessive voltage drop, loss of power or overheating. The table shows the correct size to use, depending on cord length and
nameplate amperage rating of tool If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. Always use U.L. and CSA listed extension cords.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR TABLE SAW

properly for all thru-sawing cuts. That is all cuts whereby the
blade cuts completely through the workpiece.

Is removable for removing or installing blade or other cutting
tools.
16. MITER GAUGE
Head can be locked in desired position for crosscutting or
mitering by tightening the lock knob. ALWAYS SECURELY LOCK

OUNTING TABLE SAW TO WORKBENCH
I
f table saw is to be used in a permanent location, it should be fastened
securely to a firm supporting surface such as a workbench, using the four
mounting holes supplied in the base.
1. If mounting to a workbench, the base should be bolted securely through
m
ounting holes provided.
2. Locate and mark where the saw is to be mounted.
3. Drill four (4) 3/8˝ diameter holes through workbench.
4. Place table saw on workbench aligning holes in base with the holes
drilled in workbench.
5. Insert four (4) 5/16˝ dia. bolts through holes in base and supporting
surface then secure with (4) 5/16˝ hex nuts.
An opening MUST be made the same size as the opening under the table
saw base using the dimensions shown in Fig.3. This opening prevents dust
accumulation inside the table saw base.
Stand model SS-5007 with adaptable dust collection bag model KW-5007
are available as optional accessories if workbench mounting is not
desired.
MOUNTING HANDLE TO HANDWHEEL
The handle assembly found in the loose parts bag must be assembled to
the height raising handwheel.
MOUNTING BLADE GUARD ASSEMBLY
Position the recessed end of the spreader support (A) Fig.4 against the end
of the pivot rod and fasten it to the table using long hex. bolt, washer and
lock washer (B). Assemble spreader support bracket (C) to spreader
support (A) using hex. bolts and lock washers (D). Slide blade guard
splitter into spreader support bracket and fix in place using wing nut and
hex. bolt. Further adjustments will be necessary, keep hex. bolts loose at
this time.
IMPORT
ANT:
The blade guard splitter must be properly aligned with the
center of the blade (aligned with blade kerf). Using a straight edge, check
if the splitter is aligned with the blade. Adjust if necessary. Once properly
adjusted, tighten all support hex. bolts in Fig.4.
MOUNTING RIP
FENCE ON T
ABLE & ADJUSTMENTS
Mount rip fence handle to the front cam of the rip fence. Loosen rear clamp
screw (A) Fig.5 2-3 turns counterclockwise then place rip fence on table
making sure front end is properly fitted in the front rail. Lock rip fence into
place by lowering rip fence lock handle (B). Tighten rear clamp screw 2-3
turns clockwise to bring rear clamp closer to the rear rail until a good fit is
obtained.
To reduce the risks of kickback, the rip fence must be perfectly parallel to
the blade. Unlock rip fence by raising lock handle (B). Loosen both hex.
bolts (C) on top of the rip fence. Align the rip fence with the blade and
retighten both hex. bolts (C).
Adjust the pointer to the same marking by
loosening pointer screw (D) and repositioning pointer.

OUNTING AND ADJUSTING MITER GAUGE
When cross cutting and the blade is set at 90
0
and 45
0
to the table, the miter
gauge can be used in either slot on the table. When cross cutting and the
blade is tilted, use slot on right side of table where the blade is tilted away
from your hands and miter gauge.
1. To adjust the miter gauge, loosen lock knob (A) and set the miter gauge body
(B) so the pointer (C) is at desired angle, then tighten lock knob (A) Fig.6.
2. Make a cut on a piece of scrap wood. Check it with a square to see if the
piece of wood was cut at 90º. If the piece of wood was not cut at 90º,
adjust the miter gauge body, tighten lock knob and make additional cuts
until you are certain you have made a 90º cut. If pointer (C) is not point-
ing to 90º, loosen screw (D) adjust pointer and tighten screw.
CHANGING BLADE
Warning! Disconnect power cord from power source before changing
blade.
1. Remove table insert screws and insert (A) Fig.7 to gain access to the
blade arbor.
2. Turn handwheel clockwise until the blade is at its highest.
3. Place open end wrench (B) on the flat portion of the inside blade flange
to prevent the saw arbor from rotating. Turn the arbor nut (C) counter-
clockwise with the closed wrench (D) and remove arbor nut and outside
blade flange (E).
4. Place new blade on arbor making sure the blade teeth point downwards
towards the front of the table.
5. Replace outside blade flange and arbor nut and tighten with arbor
wrenches.
6. Lower blade under table and reinstall the table insert using screws
removed previously.
BLADE TILT
The table saw blade can be tilted to any degree between 0º and 45º to the
left. The blade angle lock knob (A) Fig.8 locks the tilting mechanism.
Loosen blade angle lock knob and slide the handwheel (B) until the blade
is positioned at the desired angle. Retighten angle lock knob.
ADJUSTING BLADE TILT 90º AND 45º POSITIVE STOPS
Warning! Disconnect power cord from power source before making the
following adjustments.
Adjusting 90º positive stop
1. Loosen blade angle lock knob (A)
Fig.8, slide handwheel (B) to the left
as far as possible and retighten blade angle lock knob.
2. Place a combination square on the table as shown Fig.9 and check if
blade is at a 90º to the table. If an adjustment is necessary
, loosen blade
angle lock knob and turn 90º adjustement screw (A) Fig.9 a few turns and
move the handwheel until the blade is 90º to the table. Tighten blade
angle lock and turn the 90º adjustment screw (A) until it is set at 90º.
Adjusting 45º positive stop
1. Loosen blade angle lock knob (A) Fig.8, slide handwheel (B) to the
right as far as possible and retighten blade angle lock knob.
2. Place a combination square on the table as shown Fig.9. and check if
blade is at a 45º to the table. If an adjustment is necessary
, loosen blade
angle lock knob and turn 45º adjustement screw (B) Fig.9 a few turns and
move the handwheel until the blade is 45º to the table. Tighten blade
angle lock and turn the 45º adjustment screw (B) until it is set at 45º.

AINTENENCE
WARNING: For your own safety, turn switch “OFF” and remove plug from power source outlet before maintaining or lubricating your saw.
Do not allow sawdust to accumulate inside the saw. Frequently blow out any dust that may accumulate inside the saw cabinet and the motor.
Clean your cutting tools with a Gum and Pitch Remover. The cord and tool should be wiped with a dry clean cloth to prevent deterioration
f
rom oil and grease.

ARNING:
C
ertain cleaning agents and solvents can damage plastic parts. Some of these are: gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, chlorinated
cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents which contain ammonia. Avoiding use of these and other types off cleaning agents
will minimize the possibility of damage.
A coat of automobile type wax applied to the table will help to keep the surface clean and allow workpieces to slide more freely.
If the power cord is worn or cut, or damaged in any way, have it replaced immediately.
Make sure the teeth of the
ANTIKICKBACK pawls are always sharp. To sharpen:
1. Remove blade guard.
2. Rotate pawl toward rear of spreader so that teeth are above top of spreader.
3. Hold spreader with left hand and place pawl over corner of workbench.
4. Using a small round file (Smooth Cut) sharpen the teeth.
WARNING: All repairs, electrical or mechanical, should be attempted only by trained repairmen. Contact the nearest King Canada Service
Center. Use only identical replacement parts, any other may create a hazard.
LUBRICATION
The gear case has been completely lubricated at the factory. However, after six months to one year, depending on use, it is wise to return
your tool to the nearest Service Center for the following:
• Brushes replaced
• Parts cleaned and inspected
• Relubricated with fresh lubricant
• Electrical system tested
All repairs
The following parts should be oiled occasionally with SAE No. 20 or No. 30 oil, or WD 40.
1. Elevation, support rods, and gears.
2. Sliding rails and supports.
3. Table locking cams (Front & Rear).
