Thank you for purchasing the new Bluetooth clock radio SY-X1040BT. Please read these
Operating Instructions through carefully before connecting your device to the mains, in order
to avoid damage due to incorrect use. Please pay particular attention to the safety
information. If you pass the device on to a third party, these Operating Instructions must also
be handed over.

In alarm clock mode, press this button to OFF the alarm
For time or alarm adjustment, press and hold this button. Short press it once more to
return to standard mode

This icon indicates that the SY-X1040BT is successfully connected to a Bluetooth
device
When the icon flashes, it means the Bluetooth is not connected.

When the “TF” logo appears on the display, it indicates that the unit is reading the
content from the TF card

When “FM” logo appears on the display, it indicates that the unit is set to FM mode.

When “AUX” logo appears on the display, it indicates that the unit is set to AUX mode.

This icon indicates that the Alarm is activated.

The Low battery icon indicates that the internal battery has low power and needs to be
recharged.

The Full battery icon indicates that the unit is completely charged.
Note: When charging the SY-X1040BT, the 2 battery icons start flashing alternately
indicating the charging process. The battery charging time takes about 4-6 Hours.
Once the charging procedure is over, remove the USB connector to stop.
POWER CONNECTION
Plug the USB cable supplied to the AC adaptor supplied. Plug the mini USB to the unit to start the charging
process. The 2 battery icons will start to flash indicating the charging process.
The same USB cable includes a 3.5mm jack which enables to connect the radio clock to an external audio
device. Set the unit to AUX mode and playback from the external device your favorite tracks.
Music can also be played from a TF card. Simply insert the TF card into the slot on the radio clock. Make
sure you insert the TF card in the correct position. The unit can support TF cards up to 32GB capacity.
GETTING STARTED
The SY-X1040BT has 4 different modes. When the On button is pressed, the unit will enter Bluetooth
mode. To change the unit to the next mode, press the button.
The sequences of the different modes are as follow:
Bluetooth mode Radio mode Aux mode Clock mode.
To on the unit, simply press and hold the button. The display will turn on and the unit will be set to
Bluetooth mode.
Note: If the unit does not on after pressing 3 seconds on the button, then it probably needs
to be charged. Connect the AC adaptor and let the charging process begin.
BLUETOOTH
Once the icon icon flashes on the display, you can now connect and pair the SY-X1040BT to your external
Bluetooth device such as a mobile phone, tablet, MP4, etc…
On your device, turn on the Bluetooth function and start to search for SY-X1040BT. Connect to the device
once it has been found. The Clock radio will emit a sound confirming the unit and the external Bluetooth
device are now paired. The icon at this moment will be stop to flash and will remain on.
Note: There is not password for this unit, however if some device do require a password, please
enter “0000”
If no buttons are pressed during 5 minutes while the unit is on Bluetooth mode, the unit will
automatically return to clock mode.
CLOCK AND ALARM SETTING
Press the Power On button and then press key to switch to the clock mode. A sound
will be heard indicating the change of mode.
Press and hold the key to adjust the clock, the hour digits will start to flash. Adjust the hour using the
or k keys. Press and hold the key to adjust the minute and repeat the same process.
Once done, press the to finalize, or it will automatically end the settings in 10 seconds if no buttons
are pressed.
To activate the alarm, short press the key. When the icon appears on the display, it means
the alarm is set and activated. Press the same button to deactivate the alarm.
To adjust the alarm, press and hold the key until the hour digits start to flash. Adjust the alarm
time by using the keys. Hold and press the key to adjust the minutes. Use the same
buttons to adjust the minutes. Finally press the to confirm the settings or wait for 10 seconds
for it to automatically set.
MUSIC PLAYBACK FROM TF CARD
Power on the unit and insert a TF card making sure the memory card contains MP3 files. Make sure to insert
properly the TF card. The Clock radio will automatically detect the TF card and will start to playback the music.
LINE IN MODE (AUX)
Power on the unit and short press key to switch to line in mode. A sound will be heard confirming the
change of mode and AUX will be displayed on the screen. Use the supplied AUX in cable and connect the
3.5mm jack to the external audio device and the mini USB to the radio clock USB port.
The music will be automatically played on the clock radio.
HANDS FREE
When the clock radio is paired to a mobile phone and under Bluetooth mode, you can receive the calls directly
from the clock radio. The unit includes a powerful speaker as well as a built in microphone.
To answer a call or hang up the call, simply short press the button.
To reject a call, press and hold button.
To redial the last number, simply press twice the button.
Note: The speaker includes a built in microphone. It is recommended to stand within 1.2m of distance
from the clock radio to obtain a good quality conversation.
FM RADIO
The SY-X1040BT includes FM radio and can store up to 30 channels. It is important to connect the USB cable
to make it use as an external antenna. There is no need to connect the other side of the cable to any device.
Power on the unit and press the button to switch to the FM mode. A sound will be heard confirming the
change of mode and FM will be displayed on the screen.
To start the Auto search mode, simply press the key. The unit will start to search local FM stations and will
automatically store the stations in the order of the first channel to the last. Once the scan is completed, the unit
will play the first station scanned.
To go through the 30 presets stored, simply press or .
Note. It is not possible to change the order of the presets. Nor it is possible to search an FM station
manually.
If the radio does not catch any channels, check if the signal is strong and that you are not in a
closed area. Make sure there are no obstructions such as high building blocks. It is always
recommended to use the unit in an area near a window.
VOLUME CONTROL
To adjust the volume control, simply press and hold the or in any of the playback modes.
