Installing the batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of your radio and insert 2 “AAA” size
batteries. Take care to insert the batteries correctly. Replace the battery compartment cover.
Remember to remove the batteries if your radio is not going to be used for a long time. Replace

used batteries immediately to avoid leakage which could damage your radio.
Note: When the batteries in your radio are nearly exhausted the display may not work properly. If,
when you replace the old batteries with new ones, the display is still not working properly, remove
the batteries for at least 2 hours before replacing them. This will clear the memory of your radio
which can last for up to 2 hours after the batteries have been removed.
IMPORTANT: During the replacement of your used batteries, we request that you follow the current
regulations as to their elimination. We thank you for depositing them in a location foreseen for that
purpose to ensure their elimination in a sure manner and with respect for the environment.
Listening to your radio
1. Press and hold the POWER button. The display shows the frequency to which the radio is
tuned.
2. Press BAND to select AM or FM band.
3. Press the TUNING button or the TUNING button to obtain the desired station. Press
briefly to increase or decrease the frequency by one step. Press and hold a second to search
automatically for a station with a strong signal.
4. Adjust the VOLUME to the desired listening level.
5. To turn off the radio, press POWER again.
Radio reception
The earphones supplied with your radio function as an FM wire antenna. You can adjust the position
of the lead to improve reception.
In addition there is a “pigtail” FM aerial which can be plugged into the jack socket instead of the
earphones. This enables you to listen to FM radio through the speaker. Again, you can adjust the
position of the lead to improve reception.
For receiving AM your radio has a built in bar antenna. For better AM reception you can try rotating
the radio to get a stronger signal.
Preset radio stations
Your can store up to 10 FM and 10 AM radio stations.
1. Tune to your required station.
2. Press the
MEM
button,
Memo
flashes in the display for about 5 seconds. While “Memo” is
flashing press the
MEM
and
MEM
buttons to select a number between 1 and 10.
3. Press the
MEM
button again to store the station against your chosen number. “Memo” stops

flashing in the display.
Using sleep
You can set the radio to play for up to 90 minutes then automatically turn off.
1. Tune to the desired band and station.
2. Press
POWER
to turn off the radio.
3. Press
SLEEP
.

turns on.
4. To reduce the sleep time, repeatedly press
SLEEP
. Each time you press
SLEEP
, the sleep
time is reduced by 10 minutes. (The minimum sleep time you can have is 10 minutes.)
The radio automatically turns off and
SLEEP
disappears when the sleep time is up. To turn if off
sooner, press
POWER
again.
Using lock
To avoid accidentally turning the radio on or off, or changing the station, or sleep setting (while you
are carrying it in a pocket or purse, for example) slide
LOCK
in the direction of the arrow,
LOCK
appears on the display. This prevents manual selection of any buttons.
Listening Safety
To protect your hearing when using earphones, set the volume to the lowest setting before you
begin listening, when adjust it to a comfortable level. Wearing earphones while driving a car or riding
a bicycle can create a traffic hazard and could be illegal in some areas.
At full power, prolonged listening to the unit may damage the user’s ears.

Taking care of your radio
Interference
Do not place your radio on or near appliances which may cause electromagnetic
interference (a TV for example). If you do, it may adversely affect the working of the unit, causing the
sound to distort.
Temperature
Avoid extremes of temperature, either hot or cord. Place your radio well away from
heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric fires.
Moisture
– Do not allow your radio to be exposed to rain, moisture or dust. If any liquid is spilt into
your radio it can cause serious damage.
Cleaning
Use only a soft cloth to clean your radio. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosol cleaners or
any chemicals.
Your product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and components which can
be recycled and reused.
This symbl means that electrical and electronic equipment, at their end-of-life, should
be disposed of separately from your household waste.
Please, dispose of this equipment at your local community waste collection/recycling
centre.
In the European Union there are separate collection systems for used electrical and
electronic product.
