BEFORE USING THE COOKING HOB
INSTALLATION - TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR THE
INSTALLER
To make the most of your new appliance, please
read the user instructions carefully and keep
them to hand for future consultation.
•
Make sure that the appliance is installed and connected to the
electricity supply by a qualified technician in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions and in compliance with local
regulations.
•
Before installation, please read these few hints:
•
The cooktop must be installed into a worktop 20 to 40 mm thick and
600 mm deep.
•
The distance between the lower face of the cooktop and any
cupboard or separating panel must be of at least 30 mm.
•
If the cooktop is to be installed next to a column unit, leave a
distance of at least 50 mm.
•
The wall behind the cooktop must be at least 50mm away.
•
If a hood or a cupboard is installed above the cooktop, leave a
minimum distance of 650 mm.
•
The coatings of the walls of the unit or appliances near the cooktop
must be heat resistant.
•
Do not install the cooktop near flammable materials (i.e.:curtains).
Installation
•
Cut an opening in the worktop of the dimensions shown in the
Product Description Sheet supplied separately.
•
Stretch gasket

over the edge of the hole made being careful to
overlay the junction edges.
•
Turn the cooktop upside down and put tabs

into the seats
provided, tightening screws

a few turns.
•
Please make sure that the tabs are correctly positioned as illustrated.
•
Position the cooktop into the housing.
•
Put tabs

into plate; tooth

of the tabs should fit into the hole.
•
Tighten screw

until the cooktop is completely secured.
•
Cut off the gasket
(D)
protruding from the cooktop with a sharp tool.

Electrical Connection
• The installer is responsible for the correct electrical connection of
the appliance and the observance of the relative safety
prescriptions.
• The appliance must be connected to the mains, checking first of all
that the voltage corresponds to the value given on the rating plate
and that the section of the electrical wires can take the load
indicated on the rating plate.
• Fit a standard plug which is suitable for the power absorbed by the
appliance.
• Plug in the appliance into an earthed socket.
• Do not use multiple plug adapters or extension cables.
• The connection can be made directly to the mains by means of an
all-pole disconnect switch with minimum contact gap of 3 mm.
• When the appliance is installed, the switch or socket must always
be accessible.
• The appliance must be connected to the earth. The manufacturer
declines all responsability for any problem caused by failure to
observe this instruction.
• The supply cable must not come in contact with hot parts and must
be positioned so that it does not exceed the temperature of 75°C at
any point.
• After the appliance has been installed, the electrical components
must be inaccessible.
No liability for damage or injury to persons or property will be accepted
from the non-observance of these requirements.
Replacing the supply cable
• Turn the cooktop upside down and unhook the terminal board
cover inserting a screwdriver into the two hooks (A).
• Open the strain release (cable clamp) unscrewing screw (F),
unscrew the clamps screws and remove the cable.
Connect the new supply cable, of suitable size and section, to the
terminal board, following the diagrams hereunder:

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
1. Packing
The packaging material can be 100% recycled, as
confirmed by the recycling symbol .

The appliances are built from recyclable materials. If
you decide to scrap the appliances act responsibly
and observe local waste disposal by laws. Cut off the
power cords so that the appliances cannot be
connected to the mains.

A pressure cooker allows you to save even more energy and time.
•
Never cook the food directly on the cast iron plate, but in special
pans or containers.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
•
Before any maintenance on the appliance disconnect
it from the electrical power supply.
•
Keep children away from the appliance when in use
and when it has just been switched off.
•
The appliance must be repaired or adjusted
exclusively by a qualified technician.
•
Make sure that the electrical wires of other electrical
appliances near the cooktop do not come into contact
with hot parts.
• Do not switch on the cooking zones when there is
no pan in position.
•
The cooktop features different size cooking zones.
Use pans whose base diameter is the same as or
slightly larger than the diameter of the cooking zone.
Use flat bottomed pans. The use of pans with concave
or convex bottoms may damage the cooktop.
•
Do not use the cooktop as a work surface or a support
surface.
•
Do not leave the appliance unattended when frying
food: risk of fire.
•
Do not place food wrapped in aluminium foil, plastic
containers or cloths on the hot cooking zones.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning the cooktop, disconnect it from the electrical supply
and wait until it has cooled.
Care and maintenance of the conventional electric cooktop
•
Clean using a cloth and warm soapy water.
•
Do not use abrasives, corrosive cleaners, cleaners containing
chlorine or pan scourers.
•
Do not leave acidic substances on the cooktop (vinegar, salt, lemon
juice, etc.).
Stainless steel cooktop
• Use a specific cleaner for stainless steel.
N.B.:
prolonged use of the cooktop may result in slight discolouring of
the surfaces around the hotplates. This is caused by the high
temperature of the hotplates.
Cleaning the hotplates
Clean the hotplates when they are warm (not hot!).
Use a cloth dampened with water and salt. Dry and clean with a cloth
moistened with cooking oil.
• Do not use steam jet cleaners because the humidity could
infiltrate into the appliance making it dangerous.

appliance to “OFF” for a few minutes and then back to
