Operating Instructions
Caution
Ensure that the following installation precautions have been applied before installing the air
conditioner.
Ensure that the drainage pipings are properly
connected.
Water leakage could happen due to
improper connection thus causes
inconvenience.
The power socket must be earthed.
Improper grounding may cause current
leakage.
Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive
atmosphere. Otherwise, fire or other hazard may
occur.
Do not install, relocate or repair the
unit by yourself.
Warning
This air conditioner must be earthed.
Improper grounding could cause electric shock
or fire.

Safety Precautions:
Indications of the Symbols and Signs
To prevent personal injury, injury to others and property damage, the following instructions must be followed.

Insert the power plug properly.

Do not plug in too many
appliances to the same power
socket or use the prolonged
power cord.
Otherwise, electric shock or fire
may occur due to overheating.

Operation Precautions

Caution
Do not remove the power plug
by pulling the cord.
Pulling the power cord may
cause the wires overheated or
fire.
Do not use for other purposes.
Do not use for preserving food,
precision instruments, art
objects, growing potted plants
and etc. By doing so, quality of
foods will be affected.
Do not expose directly to the
cold air for a long period.
It could lead to health problems.
If the unit is not in use for a long
period of time, the power plug
must be removed.
Dust accumulates on the socket will
generate heat, which could lead to
fire.
Do not place combustor in the
path of the airflow from the unit.
Incomplete combustion may cause
toxic gas (CO) poisoning.
Check that the installation racks
are securely supporting the unit.
Insecured installation of Outdoor
Unit (or installation racks) may
cause the unit to topple over or
damage.
Please consult an authorized
dealer for any difficulties.
Unplug the power supply
before cleaning the unit.
The fan rotating at a high speed
inside the unit may cause injury.
Ventilate the room regularly.
Be careful when using a heater in
the same room. Poor ventilation
or oxygen shortage may cause
dizziness.
Do not climb onto or place
anything on the outdoor unit.
The unit may topple over and
inflict an injury.

Auto Operation / Test Operation
If the remote control not available, press the
button for Auto Operation. Keeping this button
depressd for more than 5 secords to start the
Test Operation (cooling only), for the purpose
of installation or repairment only.

Notes on Remote Control
Ensure that no
obstructions between
the remote control
and signal receiver.
The remote control
signal can be received
at a distance of about
10 m.
Direct the remote control towards the signal receiver
of the Indoor Unit.
Do not drop or throw the remote control.
Do not leave the remote control in a place subject to
direct sunlight or near heat sources such as radiator.
Signal receiving sound
Press operation OFF/ON button to stop the
operation. Press CANCEL button to cancel the timer
mode: one long beep”.
Other operations: one short beep”.
Replacing the batteries
When the remote control operating range is declining,
replace the batteries immediately.
Please observe the following guidelines when replacing
the batteries:
To avoid remote control from malfunction or damaged
by battery leakage, overheated, cracked and etc.,
always follow the instructions below closely;
Replace both batteries at the same time with new
batteries.
Do not use rechargeable batteries as they may differ in
shape, dimensions and performance.
If you do not use the remote control for an extended
period of time, remove the batteries.
Remarks:
When the batteries are exhausted, liquid crystal display
of the remote control will dimly lit or not light up.
If the display is chaotic or can not be adjusted,
use a pin to gently press this button to reset the
remote control to the original set by manufacturer.

How to Operate
Automatic · Cooling ·Soft Dry Operations

The adjustment angles of the airflow direction louvers
for Cooling, Soft Dry, Air Circulation operations are
different.
Ensure that the angles of the vertical airflow direction
louvers are adjusted by using the remote control. If it
were manually adjusted, the proper mechanism of the
louvers may be affected. If such a case, turn off the air
conditioner temporarily and then restart the operation.
During Cooling and Soft Dry operations, please avoid
the vertical airflow direction louvers from positioning in
a downward direction for a long period. Otherwise, if
condensation occured near the airflow direction louver
and air outlet vents, it may result in water dripping.
To adjust the horizontal airflow direction, manually
move the Horizontal Airflow Direction Louver.
After the air conditioner stopped and restarted
immediately, the compressor will not operate within 3
minutes. (For compressor protection purposes.)

Except Automatic Operation:
1. Each press of the button will
change the temperature by one
degree.
2. The adjustable temperature
range is between 16 30°C.
3. Keeping the button depressed
will increase or decrease the
temperature continuously.

Automatic Operation
1. Press operation selection MODE button, the cursor key point to ,
2. Press operation OFF/ON button, the operation lamp of the air conditioner will flash momentarily, and then lights up.
Notes: 1.During Automatic Operation, the operation mode will be selected automatically in accordance with the room
temperature.
2.During Automatic Operation, the adjustable temperature range is ±2°C. By pressing
or button,
or will appear in the remote control display accordingly.
3.During Automatic Operation with AUTO Fan Speed,
Auto Fan Speed will run at a High fan speed initially. It stops when it reaches the set temperature. Then, it
will start operating again at Low fan speed. During Cooling and Soft Dry operations, the Fan will start
operating 40 seconds later.

Notes: When setting the automatic airflow during Cooling Operation, changes in speed
and movements of louvers, which swing in up and down manner forms a
natural breeze condition.
Soft Dry Operation
1. Press operation selection MODE button, the cursor key point to ;
2. Press operation OFF/ON button, the operation lamp of the air conditioner will light up.
3. Press
or button to set the room temperature.
Notes: 1. The purposes of Soft Dry Operation : to maintain the room temperature at
the set temperature, prior to dehumidification.
2. When setting the automatic airflow during Soft Dry Operation, changes in speed
and movements of louvers, which swing in up and down manner forms anatural
breeze condition.
3. During Soft Dry Operation, the fan will run at Low fan speed, and on/off operation will occur occasionally.
Recommendation : Select this mode in the rainy day or when the humidity is high.
Air Circulation Operation
1. Press operation selection MODE button, FAN the cursor key point to ;
2. Press operation OFF/ON button, the operation lamp of the air conditioner will flash momentarily , and then lights up.
3. Press or button to set the room temperature.
Notes: 1. The purposes of Air Circulation Operation : to maintain a good ventilation in
the room; purifying and deodorizing the air.
2. When setting the automatic airflow during Air Circulation Operation:
The airflow will blow in a horizontal direction when the temperature is low,
The airflow will blow in a downward direction when the temperature increases.
3. The compressor will not operate during Air Circulation Operation. (The
louvers cannot swing up and down during Air Circulation Operation)
4. When the room temperature is lower than the set temperature, Air Circulation Operation will stop.
Recommendation : Select this mode when not using Cooling Operation.

Notes
The ON-TIMER and OFF-TIMER cannot be set simultaneously.
The set time that appears on the remote control display is actually the remaining set time which will appear after every an
hour of operation.
If you press operation OFF/ON button during the timer setting, the timer setting will be cancelled. (The timer indicator of
the Indoor Unit will go off.)
After the timer has been set, the air conditioner will start operating earlier than the set time in order to reach the remote
controls set temperature at the set time. (approximately 15 minutes)
Setting the Timer
Press ON to set the ON-TIMER .
Each press of the button will change the setting
time by an hour in the manner of 6, 7, 8....12, 1,
2....5. (The next time when you are going to do
the timer setting again, you will see the
previous set time appears in the display.)
Keeping the button depressed will forward the
time by an hour continuously.
[ON] will flash.
Press SET to set the ON-TIMER .
The timer indicator of the Indoor Unit will
illuminate.
The remote control display will show the setting
time.
When you press SET button during operation,
the air conditioner will stop operating
automatically (Operation indicator goes off).

To change the set time
Reset the setting.
It will only be restarted approximately 15 minutes
before the actual time.

Remote Control Signal Receiving Sound ("Beep")
Switch Off the Signal Receiving Sound
Press and hold this button for more than 10 seconds.
Switch On the Signal Receiving Sound
Press and hold this button for more than 10 seconds.
When the remote control cannot be used,
press this button will enable the air conditioner
to operate in Automatic Mode.

This air conditioner is equipped with a built in surge protective device.
However, in order to further protect your air conditioner from being
damaged by abnormally strong lightning activity, you may switch off
the main power supply and unplug from power socket.
Thunder and Lightning
When not using the air conditioner for an extended period of time
If it is not disconnected from the power supply, approximately 2.5 W of electricity will be consumed even though the
air conditioner has been turned off by using the remote control.
When not using the appliance for an extended period of time

Clean the air filter regularly. Clogged air filter will affect
proper airflow and impair cooling efficiency or heating
efficiency. Clean at least once in a fortnight. Otherwise,
6% of electricity cost will be wasted.
Do not block the air outlet vents of Outdoor Unit.
Otherwise, cooling efficiency will be affected.
Make sure that the doors and windows are closed.
Otherwise, cooling performance will be reduced and
electricity cost is wasted.
Keep blinds or curtains closed to avoid direct sunlight.
5% of electricity cost can be saved.
Operation Hints
Adjust the room temperature appropriately.
Approximately 10% of the electricity cost can be saved
if you set the temperature 1°C higher (Cooling Operation)
than your desire temperature.

Adjust the airflow direction properly. Set the airflow
direction louvers horizontally during Cooling operation
will obtain a better cooling effect.

Cleaning the Intake Grille
(It must be removed before cleaning)
To Remove the Intake Grille
Gently lift up the intake grille by
the left and right side.
Raise the Intake Grille slightly above
the horizontal level. Position the
fulcrum of the Intake Grille into the
ditch.
The intake grille will fall off from the indoor
unit when it reaches the place highe than
horizontal level.
Gently push the fulcrum into the
ditch and lay down the Intake
Grille.
Cleaning the Air Conditioner and Air Filters
Clean at least once in a fortnight is recommended.
To clean the air conditioner.
Wipe gently with a soft cloth.
To clean the air filters
Use vacuum cleaner or water to clean the air
filters and dry it in shade. (Water should below
40°C.)
When reinstall the air filters, be sure the
FRONT marked is facing you.
If the air filter is damaged, please engage an
authorized dealer for replacement.

Care and Maintenance
Periodical cleaning and maintenance are required in order to maintain the air conditioner’s continuous excellent
performance and save electricity.
Before cleaning or servicing, switch off the power.

Volatile liquid such as thinner or benzene may deteriorate the finishing of
the air conditioner.

To Install the Intake Grille
When Not Using the Air Conditioner for a Long Period

To dry out moisture in
the internal mechanisms
Operate the air conditioner for 2 to 3 hours
to dehumidify the indoor unit.
Switch off the air conditioner and remove
the power plug.
Remove the batteries from the remote
control.
Pre-season Inspection
Operate for 15 minutes.
If the difference in temperature between the air
inlet and outlet vents is 8°C or more during
Cooling Operation, the unit is in normal condition.
Are the air inlet and outlet vents
obstructed?
Is the drain hose cracked or crushed?
Is cool air
coming out?
If it is, water
leakage will
result.
If that happened, cooling
efficiency will be affected.

Troubleshooting
Normal Operations

This is the answer.
Wait a
moment
The air conditioner has
been restarted but does
not operate for 3 minutes.
This is to protect the air conditioner. It will
start to operate after 3 minutes.
The air conditioner stop
operating occasionally
during Cooling
operation.
Soft Dry operation is a very gentle Cooling
operation, prior to dehumidification. When
the temperature is lower than the set
temperature, the air conditioner will stop for
about six minutes; when the temperature is
higher than the set value, the air conditioner
will start operating again.
The room has a peculiar
odour during operation.
This may be a dump smell emitted by the
walls, carpet, furniture or clothing in the room.
The unit itself has no foul odour.
In this case, please wash the air filters. If
such condition persists, the air conditioner
must be cleaned. (Please engage an
authorized dealer.)
Mist is emitted during
operation.
This is caused by the cold airflow cools the
room air.
Sound of running water
can be heard during
operation.
This is caused by the refrigerant flowing
inside the unit.

If the following conditions occur, switch off the air conditioner immediately and remove the power plug.
Abnormal noise is heard during

Water leakage occurred at the
Indoor Unit.
Switches or buttons did not
operate properly.

Power cord and power plug are
unusually warm.
Abnormal Operations
The air conditioner cannot operate.
Has the circuit breaker been tripped?
Has the power plug been removed from the
wall outlet?
Has the timer been set properly?
The air conditioner does not cold
effectively.
Has the temperature been set appropriately?
Is the air filter dirty?
Is anything blocking the inlet or outlet vents
of outdoor unit?
Has the windows and doors been closed?
The air conditioner produces excessive
operating noise?
Is the installation work slanted?
Has the Intake Grille been closed properly?
The remote control fails to operate?
After replacing the batteries and etc., the
remote control may not be operated. In such
a case, slide to open the back cover and
short the RESET points to resume it to the
normal operation.

Evaluation of the Performance
Operate the unit for 15 minutes or more;
Measure the temperature of the inlet and outlet air;
The temperature difference is more than 8°C during
Cooling operation.
If the unit fulfils the above conditions, the unit is in normal
operation.
