• To make the most of your new appliance, please
read the user instructions carefully and keep
them to handy for future consultation.
•
Make sure that the appliance is installed and connected to the
electricity supply by a qualified technician in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions and in compliance with local
regulations.
•
Before installation, please read these few hints:
•
The cooktop must be installed into a worktop 30 to 40 mm thick and
600 mm deep.
•
The distance between the lower face of the cooktop and any
cupboard or separating panel must be of at least 30 mm.
•
If the cooktop is to be installed next to a column unit, leave a
distance of at least 300 mm.
•
If a hood or a cupboard is installed above the cooktop, leave a
minimum distance of 650 mm.
•
The coatings of the walls of the unit or appliances near the cooktop
must be heat resistant (150°C).
•
Do not install the cooktop near flammable materials (e.g.: curtains).
•
The rear wall must be at least 50mm from the ceramic griddle and
must withstand a temperature of 150°C.
Installation
•
Cut an opening in the worktop of the dimensions shown in the
Product Description Sheet supplied separately.
•
Stretch gasket
(D)
over the edge of the hole made being careful to
overlay the junction edges.
•
Turn the cooktop upside down and put tabs
(A)
into the seats
provided, tightening screws
(B)
a few turns.
•
Please make sure that the tabs are correctly positioned as illustrated.
•
Position the cooktop into the housing.
•
Put tabs
(A)
into place; tooth
(C)
of the tabs should fit into the hole.
•
Tighten screw
(B)
until the cooktop is completely secured.
•
Cut off the gasket
(D)
protruding from the cooktop with a sharp tool.

Electrical Connection
• The installer is responsible for the correct electrical connection of
the appliance and the observance of the relative safety
prescriptions.
• The appliance must be connected to the mains, checking first of all
that the voltage corresponds to the value given on the rating plate
and that the section of the electrical wires can take the load
indicated on the rating plate.
• Fit a standard plug which is suitable for the power absorbed by the
appliance.
• Plug in the appliance into an earthed socket.
• Do not use multiple plug adapters or extension cables.
• The connection can be made directly to the mains by means of an
all-pole disconnect switch with minimum contact gap of 3 mm.
• When the appliance is installed, the switch or socket must always
be accessible.
• The supply cable must not come in contact with hot parts and must
be positioned so that it does not exceed the temperature of 75°C at
any point.
• After the appliance has been installed, the electrical components
must be inaccessible.
No liability for damage or injury to persons or property will be accepted
from the non-observance of these requirements.
IF THE HOB SURFACE IS CRACKED DISCONNECT THE APPLIANCE FROM THE
mains. Connection TO A GOOD EARTH WIRING SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY
ESSENTIAL. THE MANUFACTURER ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY
INCONVENIENCE CAUSED BY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE.
For UK only
This appliance can be connected directly to the mains, using fixed
wiring via a Double Pole Switched Fused Spur Outlet (13 amps. fuse).
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of the appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminal in our
spur box, proceed as follows:
- The green and yellow wire must be connected to the
terminal marked E (Earth) or ( ) coloured Green.
- The blue wire must be connected to the terminal
marked N (Neutral), or coloured Black.
- The brown wire must be connected to the terminal
marked L (Live) or coloured Red.
Replacing the supply cable
• Turn the cooktop upside down and unhook the terminal board
cover inserting a screwdriver into the two hooks (A).
• Open the strain release (cable clamp) unscrewing screw (F),
unscrew the clamps screws and remove the cable.
Connect the new supply cable, of suitable size and section, to the
terminal board, following the diagrams below:

1. Packing
The packaging material is entirely recyclable, as
confirmed by the recycling symbol .
2. Products
The appliances are built from recyclable materials. If
you decide to scrap the appliances act responsibly
and observe local waste disposal by laws. Cut off the
power cords so that the appliances cannot be
connected to the mains.
Declaration of conformity
These appliances are designed to come into contact with
foodstuffs and they are constructed in compliance with
Directive 89/109/EEC.
•
The appliances are designed solely for use as cooking
appliances. Any other use of the appliances (e.g. for
room heating) is considered as improper use and
potentially dangerous.

The appliances are designed, built and sold in
compliance with:

The safety requirements of “Low Voltage” Directive
73/23/EEC.

The protection requirements of EMC Directive
89/336/EEC.

The requirement of Directive 93/68/EEC.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
•
Before any maintenance on the appliance disconnect
it from the electrical power supply.
•
Keep children away from the griddle when in use and
after it has been switched off: during use the griddle
reaches high temperatures and remains hot for
approx. 30 minutes after it has been switched off.
•
The appliance must be repaired or adjusted
exclusively by a qualified technician.
•
Make sure that the electrical wires of other electrical
appliances near the griddle do not come into contact
with hot parts.
•
Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or
feet.
•
Never use the appliance with bare feet.
•
Do not leave flammable material, plastic objects or
aluminium foil on the griddle as there is risk of fire.
•
Do not scratch the griddle with cutting or sharp
utensils.
•
Do not use the griddle as a work surface.
•
Important: Do not use the ceramic griddle if the glass
ceramic surface is cracked or damaged. If you note a
crack, switch the appliance off and call for the
After-Sales Service.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Clean the griddle, when it is cool, after each use. This will prevent the
build-up of dirt and make cleaning easier.
•
Use a clean cloth, absorbent kitchen wipes and washing up liquid or
a specific glass ceramic cleaner.
•
Clean the stainless steel parts with a specific cleaner.
•
Remove baked-on dirt with a scraper which can be bought
separately and a specific cleaning product.
•
Food encrustations should be cleaned off before they bake onto the
griddle.
•
Do not use abrasive products, bleach, oven-cleaner spray or pan
scourers.
•
Do not leave acid or alkaline substances, such as vinegar, salt or
lemon juice, etc. onto the surface.
•
Do not put any object on the cooktop which can melt with heat such
as plastic objects, aluminium foil or foods containing sugar. Should
anything melt on the cooktop, remove it immediately (while the
cooktop is still hot) using a special scraper to prevent any
irreversible damage to the glass ceramic surface.
•
Do not use steam jet cleaners because the humidity could infiltrate
into the appliance making it dangerous.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
The griddle does not work:
• Is there a power cut?
•
Has the control knob been turned to the correct
power?
•
Set the main disconnect switch upline of the
appliance to “OFF” for a few minutes and then back to
“ON” and see if the problem persists.
AFTER-SALES SERVICE
Before contacting AFTER-SALES SERVICE
1.
Try to solve the problem
(see “Troubleshooting Guide”).
2.
Turn off the appliance and restart it to see if the fault
is repeated.
If after the above checks the fault still occurs, get in
touch with the nearest After Sales Service.
Please give
:
• a short description of the fault,
• the exact type and model,
• the service number (number after the word
SERVICE on the rating plate) is located on the
underside of the griddle. The service number is
also indicated on the guarantee booklet,
• your complete address and phone number.
If any repairs are required, please contact
an authorised
After Sales Service
as indicated in the warranty.
In the unlikely event that an operation or repair is carried
out by an
unauthorised technician
, always request a
certification of the job carried out and insist on the use
of
original spare parts
.
Failure to comply with these instructions may
compromise the safety and quality of the product
