the user at risk. They will also invalidate any warranty claims.
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the

Boiling water
NEVER place the electrical base 4 close to
water – risk of fatal electric shock!
Only use fresh drinking water in the kettle! Do not
consume any water that is not certified as drinkable. If you do, you
are taking a risk with your health!
Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch 3 is in the "0" position
(off) when the mains plug is unplugged and the appliance is
standing on the base 4. If not, the appliance could heat up unin-
tentionally as soon as the mains plug is plugged in again.
1) Lift the kettle off the base when filling it!
2) Open the lid by pressing the lid release button 1.
When filling, hold the kettle upright. This is the only way to read
the markings on the scale 2 correctly.
3) No further than the MAX mark, so that boiling water cannot
spill out.
4) First close the lid, then place the kettle on the base 4, so that it
sits securely on the base 4.
5) Insert the power plug into the socket.
6) Push the ON/OFF switch 3 downwards (position "I") so that it
engages.
For safety reasons, you should not open the lid
when the water is boiling or extremely hot. There is a risk of scalding.
7) The light in the ON/OFF switch 3 shows that the appliance is
now heating.
8) As soon as the water is boiling, the appliance will switch itself
off, the ON/OFF switch 3 clicks upwards and the light goes
out.

This appliance is equipped with an overheating protection function:
if the appliance is switched on unintentionally without any water in
the kettle, the appliance switches itself off automatically.
If the appliance boils dry because the lid has not been closed, for
example, the appliance switches itself off automatically. In this case,
allow the appliance to cool down before using it again.
Cleaning and care
Unplug the appliance before cleaning it! Other-
wise there is the risk of electric shock! Never open any parts of the
housing. There are no serviceable parts inside. When the housing is
open, there is the risk of receiving a potentially fatal electrical shock.
NEVER immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid!
There is a risk of fatal electric shock if residual liquids come
into contact with live components during operation.
Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before
cleaning it. Risk of burns!
Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents.
These can attack the surface and damage the appliance beyond
repair.
Clean all exterior surfaces and the power cord with a slightly
damp cloth. Always dry the appliance properly before reusing it.
For stubborn soiling, use a mild detergent on the cloth. Ensure that
there is no detergent residue on or in the appliance before reusing
it.
Rinse the inside of the kettle out with clean water.
If there are any deposits in the kettle, wipe out the inside surface
with a damp cloth, or use a dish or bottle brush. Then rinse the
kettle out with clear water again.

for the descaling agent.
After descaling, rinse the appliance out with plenty of fresh water.
Inserting/removing the scale filter insert
1) Open the lid.
2) Hold the scale filter insert 6 by the tab and pull the scale filter
insert 6 upwards out of the holder. Then you can lift it out.
