Advice
To guarantee the effectiveness and the safety of this electrical appliance:
• only consult authorised technical assistance Centres
• always insist on the use of original spare parts.
1 This appliance has been created for home use and not for
professional use.
2 These instructions are only applicable to the countries whose
symbols are represented on the notice and the registration
booklet of the appliance.
3 This mode of use applies to a class 2 appliance (free
standing) or a class 2 – sub-class 1 appliance (built in
between 2 kitchen units)
4 Before using the appliance, read this notice carefully because it
contains very important instructions regarding the safety of the
installation, use and maintenance. Retain this brochure for any
future reference.
5 After unpacking the appliance, check that it is intact. If in doubt,
and prior to usage, consult a qualified technician. The
packaging elements (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, nails,
etc.) must be kept out of reach of children because they can be
dangerous.
6 The installation must be done in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions and by a professional. The
manufacturer will not be responsible for all damages to people,
animals or things arising from an incorrect installation of the
appliance.
7 The electrical safety of this appliance is ensured only after the
latter is correctly connected to an earthed installation in
accordance with the rules applicable in relation to electrical
safety standards. It is crucial to verify that this basic condition
of safety is fulfilled properly; if in doubt, seek advice from a
professional for an accurate control of your electrical
installation. The manufacturer cannot, in any case, be held
responsible for any damages which result if the earth
installation is faulty.
8 Before connecting the appliance, check if the technical
characteristics reported on the labels (placed on the appliance
and/or the packaging) correspond to those of your electric and
gas installation.
9 Check if the electrical power of the installation and the sockets
is able to support the maximum power of the appliance shown
on the label. If in doubt, seek advice from a professional.
10 At the time of installation, it is necessary to install a multiple
pole isolator with at least 3mm gap between the contacts.
11 In case of incompatibility between the socket and the plug of
the appliance, have a professional replace the socket with an
appropriate one. Also check if the socket cables section is able
to support the power absorbed by the appliance. In general, it
is better not to use adapters, multiple sockets or extensions. If
it is necessary, only use multiple or simple adapters, or
extensions that conform to the safety standards, while taking
care not to exceed the limit of electrical power indicated on the
simple adapter or on the extension, and the maximum power
indicated on the multiple adapter.
12 Do not leave your appliance connected unnecessarily. Switch
off the main switch of the appliance when you are not using it.
13 The openings or the fissures for heat ventilation should not be
blocked.
14 The power cable of this appliance must not be replaced by the
user. If the cable is damaged and must be replaced, seek
advice from one of the after-sales service centres authorised
by the manufacturer.
15 This appliance must be used in the way it was conceived and
intended for. Any other use (as for example the heating of a
part) is improper and therefore, dangerous. The manufacturer
declines all responsibility in case of damages caused by an
improper or erroneous use.
16 The use of all electric appliances implies the compliance of
certain fundamental rules. Please note:
• do not use the appliance with wet or damp feet or hands;
• never use the appliance whilst barefooted;
• never use extensions, if you do, do so with the maximum
precautions;
• never tug on the power cord or pull the appliance to
disconnect the plug from the socket;
• do not expose the appliance to atmospheric elements (rain,
sun, etc.);
• never allow children or handicap people to use the
appliance without supervision.
17 Disconnect the appliance by disconnecting the plug or by
switching off the plug of the electrical installation before all
cleaning or maintenance operations.
18 If you decide to discontinue your use of this appliance, it is
recommended that you render it inoperative by cutting the
power cord after disconnecting it from the socket. We strongly
recommend that you neutralise the parts of the appliance
which are likely to present any danger, especially to children
who may play with the appliance.
19 Do not place unstable or misshapened saucepans on the
burners to avoid any risk of overturning. Place them on the
hob, handles turned towards the inside. In this way, you will
also avoid knocking them off inadvertently.
20 Certain parts of the appliance remain hot for a long time after
use. Pay attention not to touch them.
21 Never use flammable liquids (alcohol, gasoline...) close to the
appliance when you are in the process of using it.
22 If you use small electrical appliances close to the hob, pay
attention that their power cord does not get in contact with
warm parts of the appliance.
23 Always check that the knobs are in the position “•”/ “0” when the
appliance is not being used
24 When in operation, the heating elements and certain parts
of the door may become very hot. Pay attention not to
touch them and to keep children at a distance.
25 The gas appliances need a regular flow of air to function
well. It is thus important to verify, at the moment of their
installation, that all the points indicated in the paragraph
relating to their “Positioning” are observed.
26 The glass lid (which is only available with certain models) can
shatter in the event of overheating. Therefore, close it only
after having checked that all the burners or the hotplates have
cooled completely.
27 If the cooker is placed on a base, take all the necessary
precautions to avoid that it falls over.
Removal of used household appliances
The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that used household
appliances not be disposed of in the normal flow of municipal
waste. The used appliances must be collected separately in
order to optimise the rate of recovery and the recycling of the
materials which make up the appliance, and to reduce their
impact on human health and the environment. The symbol of the
‘’crossed-out thrash bin’’ is appended on all the products to
remind of the obligations of separate waste collection.
The consumers will need to contact the local authorities or their
retailer regarding the approach to be followed for the removal of
the old appliance.
