Important safeguards
 Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, storing magnetic fields, excessive dust,
humidity and electronic/electrical equipment, which generate electronic noise.
 Use of control, adjustments or performance of procedures other than herein may
result in a fire or hazardous radiation exposure.
 Do not drop your player or leave it under heavy objects.
 To avoid accident of electric shock, please do not attempt to detach the cover of
the player. Customer should contact a qualified technician regarding any repair
job.
 Keep the unit away from reactive substances.

General operations
1. Power on/off
To power on the player, press PLAY/PAUSE (ON/OFF) button. To power off the
player, press and hold PLAY/PAUSE (ON/OFF) button.
2. Volume level regulation
During playback press UP/DOWN buttons to decrease or increase volume level.
3. Charge operation
This player needs to be charged for at least 3 hours before usage. Connect the player to
PC to start charging. Once player is fully charged, it will display “Fully Charged” on the
LCD.

Mode operations
 Press MENU button to go to Main Menu. Press the button again to go to Music
mode.
 You can select Music, FM Tuner, Record, Images, Video, Text, Folder, Settings
and About.
 You can navigate through Main Menu by pressing UP/DOWN buttons. Press
PLAY/PAUSE button to enter the selected item.
 Choose About for player information (Version of software, Total memory, Free
memory).
1. Music mode
 By default, player will always resume from Music mode.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to either play or pause the track.
 Press LEFT/RIGHT buttons to skip to the next or previous track.
 Press and hold LEFT/RIGHT buttons to fast forward or rewind.
 You can activate various repeat modes while playing music files. For detailed
information see “Setting” item below.
Synchronous Lyrics
You must ensure the Music file has additional .LRC file on the same folder. E.g.
Song.mp3 and Song.LRC. While playing song, the lyrics will be shown automatically.
Setting A-B Clipping
 While playing music, press RECORD/A-B button to select initial point of the
fragment. Press RECORD/A-B button to select the end point. The particular
portion will repeat continuously.
 Press RECORD/A-B button to exit.

2. FM Tuner mode
Adjusting and Saving Frequency
 Enter FM Tuner mode. You can preset 20 fixed channels and navigate through
them using LEFT/RIGHT buttons.
 To auto search and save all available stations, press PLAY/PAUSE button to select
Auto Scan.
 To search manually, press PLAY/PAUSE button to select Manual Scan. Press and
hold LEFT/RIGHT buttons to scan for available station, press PLAY/PAUSE
button to save.
Recording FM
 Press and hold RECORD/A-B button to start recording. Press MENU button to
save recording and return to radio mode. You can listen to the file under Music
mode.
Note: Playlist will be re-created whenever newly recorded file is saved to the player.
Delete FM Channel
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to select Delete Preset.
 To exit FM mode, press MENU button.
3. Record mode
 Enter Record mode. You will see the Record settings.
 To change a setting, press PLAY/PAUSE button. To go to the next setting, press
UP/DOWN buttons.
 To start, go to “Start record” and press PLAY/PAUSE button to save recording,
press MENU button.
Note: Playlist will be re-created whenever a new recorded file is saved to the player.

Listening to recorded files
 From Main Menu > Folder > Internal/External, press PLAY/PAUSE button to
locate VOICE folder.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to enter and you can now play the file.
4. Images mode
 Enter Images mode. You can view either BMP or JPG.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to view the file list.
 Navigate among files by pressing UP/DOWN buttons.
 When selecting a file and pressing PLAY/PAUSE button, a sub-menu is displayed
consisting of “Play”, “Delete” and “Exit” items. Select “Play” to playback the file;
select “Delete” to delete the file; select “Exit” to exit from the sub-menu.
Note: All image files must be put into the PHOTO folder.
5. Video mode
 Enter Video mode.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to view the file list.
 Navigate among files by pressing UP/DOWN buttons.
 When selecting a file and pressing PLAY/PAUSE button, a sub-menu is displayed
consisting of “Play”, “Delete” and “Exit” items. Select “Play” to playback the file;
select “Delete” to delete the file; select “Exit” to exit from the sub-menu.
 You can convert video files to the format supported by this player (SMV). For
details see item “Convert video files to SMV”.
Note: All video files must be put into the MVIDEO folder.
6. Text mode
 Enter Text mode.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to view the file list.

 Navigate among files by pressing UP/DOWN buttons.
 When selecting a file and pressing PLAY/PAUSE button, a sub-menu is displayed
consisting of “Play”, “Delete” and “Exit” items. Select “Play” to playback the file;
select “Delete” to delete the file; select “Exit” to exit from the sub-menu.
Note: All text files must be put into TEXT folder.
7. Folder mode
 Enter Folder mode.
 You will see Internal (Flash) and External (MiniSD).
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to open the folder. Press MENU button to go back one
level. Press UP/DOWN buttons to navigate between files. Press PLAY/PAUSE
button to play the file.
Note: You will not be able to see PHOTO, MVIDEO and TEXT folders in the Folder
menu.
8. Settings
 Enter Settings mode. Press UP/DOWN buttons to navigate between settings.
 Press PLAY/PAUSE button to perform the following operations:
EQ: Set the equalizer for the music.
PlayMode: Set the repeat mode for the music.
Language: Set the languages for Menu display.
Display skin: Set the color for the player display appearance.
Display Off: Set the duration for the display to turn off.
Idle Off: Set the time period after which the player will turn off automatically.
Slideshow: Set the mode for displaying pictures.
Exit: Exit to Main Menu.

 From Main Menu, navigate to Settings > EQ.
 Choose Normal, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Pop, Treble, Bass or User EQ.
Setting PlayMode
 From Main Menu, navigate to Settings > PlayMode. Below are the descriptions.
Normal: All music files will play sequentially once.
Repeat Track: Repeat current file repeatedly.
Repeat All: All music files will play sequentially and continuously.
Shuffle Once: All music files will play randomly once.
Shuffle Repeat: All music files will play randomly and continuously.
HOLD button
Switch HOLD button to the lock position (upwards) to activate function preventing user
from accidentally pressing buttons. Switch this button downwards to make buttons
active.

Operating with computer
1. Computer connection
 Switch on the computer.
 Turn the player off.
 Connect via USB cable the player to PC.
 When the connection is established in MY COMPUTER in your PC you will find
the new REMOVABLE DRIVE. It is the player’s nandflash. Now you can upload
the files into the player like into the PC hardware.
If you connect the player to PC for the first time, you should install the driver.
Windows 2000/ME/XP/Vista
The player does not need to install any driver if Windows is 2000/ME/XP/Vista.
Windows 98SE
The computer requires the users to install the driver if Windows is 98SE. User can
install the driver by enclosed installation CD.
MAC OS
This MP3 player is compatible with MAC OS 10 and above. Driver is not needed.
2. Driver installation procedures
 Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM driver.
 To start the installation manually: on desktop, click “Start” then “Run”, enter
D:\Win98 Driver\Setup.exe (D is the name of CD-ROM drive) and click “OKto
start.

OR enter your CD ROM (disc D), enter the directory “Win98 Driver” and execute
the Setup.exe file.
 Following the icon instruction, click “Next” to continue installation.
Note: If the installation failed execute the deleting process step and re-install the driver.
3. File transferring
 From MY COMPUTER on the PC select the files for copying.
 Highlight the files.
 Right click the mouse and select “Copy”.
 Open the REMOVABLE DRIVE from MY COMPUTER.
 In this drive right click the mouse and select “Paste” for transferring the files into
the player.
4. Disconnect from the computer
 Safely remove the player from Window’s desktop by following the “Windows
Safety Remove Hardware” instructions before physically disconnecting the cable.
 By double click the hardware removal icon, the box of “Safely Remove Hardware”
appears.
Note: The circuitry of the player and the computer could be seriously damaged if the
USB cable is unplugged not following the instruction under Windows ME / 2000 / XP.

Convert video files to SMV
Sigmatel SMV Transcoder 4.1
 The SMV Transcoder or Converter can be found in the CD-ROM provided in the
standard MP3 packaging.
Note: SMV Transcoder will not be able to perform the conversion if the video format is
not supported by the codec installed in your computer.
 There is no installation required. Double click on the file video2smv.exe.
 A new window will pop up as shown below.

 To convert video files to SMV format, simply click on Add button.
Another windows will pop up as shown below.
 Once the video file is selected, you can base on below setting for the conversion:
Size: Select the size of the SMV video file (Do not select size that is larger than the
LCD)
Quality: Select 200, 128 or 83MB/Hour. 200MB/Hour will have the best quality but the
file size will be bigger. Select Customize to set Audio, Video, Frame and Rotate.
Audio: 8, 11 and 22KB/Sec. 22KB/Sec will have the best audio quality.
Video: Range from 3 to 60KB/Sec. 60KB/Sec will have the best video quality.

Frame: Range from 4 to 25 Frame/Sec. 25 Frame/Sec will have the best video effect.
Rotate: Depends on the viewing you can select Left 90°, Right 90° or 180°
If a movie has black margin on top
and bottom, Full Screen will crop
the margin but some part of the
movie will also be cropped.
Selection for Mono and Stereo
After choosing a file for converting, press Setting button to choose the directory for
location of the converted file. Then choose the needed settings and press Convert button
to start converting the file. After converting is complete, copy the file from the location
directory to the VIDEO folder of the player. Now the video file is available for
watching.
Note: Use 128x160 resolution for best viewing.

Troubleshooting guide
The player does
not work
Check the capacity of the battery. If it’s empty: connect
MP3 player to USB port of PC to recharge the battery.
OR insert one side of the power supply into the USB socket,
another one into the power outlet o recharge the battery.
Unable to
download data
Ensure the USB cable is properly connected to your PC and
the player.
Check that the USB driver is installed.
Ensure that there is enough memory to store music or data
file(s).
Lost data
Occasionally some parts of a data stream may be damaged
owing to instability of power while downloading files. In
such case, disconnect the unit and try again.
How many minutes
of MP3 files can
this player hold
It depends on the memory size of the player. A player with
128 MB of memory can hold approximately 60 minutes the
near CD sound quality MP3 files.
Player is not
recognized by the
PC
Check if the USB cable is connected properly, and if the
player is on.
Check that the USB driver is installed.
Reinstall the USB driver.
