Installing Your AM21
1. Place your DIRECTV USB OFF-AIR TUNER on top of or underneath your DIRECTV® Receiver.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the receiver.
3. Connect the USB cable from the AM21 to the Receiver.
4. Connect the off-air antenna to the AM21.
5. Connect the power cable that comes with the AM21 to the Receiver.
6. Connect the power cable that was removed from the receiver to the AM21.

1. Go to Menu - Settings & Help - Settings
2. Select Sat & Antenna
3. Select Antenna Setup
4. Select Initial Setup

5. Enter the zip code
6. The AM21 and receiver will scan for local channels.
7. Once the scan is complete, the OSD will indicate which
local market was detected. If there is a secondary market to
add, select Secondary Local. If not, select Done.
8. The receiver will re-acquire satellite data with the new
channels. Select Continue when prompted.

Finalizing AM21 Setup

∎ To change what channels will appear in the guide, or view
the antenna signal strength, select Edit Off-Air Channels.
∎ Select or de-select any channels that you want to display
on the guide. Select Done to finish, or select Signal Meter
to view the signal strength.
∎ The Antenna Signal Strength screen will display the signal
on each channel the off-air antenna is picking up.
∎ On the guide, verify that the new channels are listed.
