Introduction to interface cards
This manual introduces the following 10-Gigabit interface cards:
LSW1XGT4P0Provides four 1/10GBase-T autosensing Ethernet
ports.
LSW1XGT2P0Provides two 1/10GBase-T autosensing Ethernet
ports.
NOTE:
The interface cards described in this document are applicable to
multiple models of H3C switches, and the switch models that it
applies to may update with time. For the latest information, consult
H3C marketing staff or technical support.

Installing and removing an interface
card
This section takes the LSW1XGT4P0 interface card and the H3C
S5820X-28C switch to illustrate the installation and removal procedures.
The methods for installing and removing the LSW1XGT2P0 are similar.
The following tools are needed for installation and removal:
Phillips screwdriver
ESD-preventive wrist strap
NOTE:
The installation tools are not shipped together with H3C's Ethernet
switches. Prepare them yourself.
When you install or remove an interface card, follow these guidelines:
Avoid touching the surface-mounted components directly with your
hands.
Avoid using excessive force in the operation.
If you remove an interface card and do not install a new one, install a
filler panel as soon as possible to prevent dust and ensure the normal
ventilation in the switch.
Installing an interface card
1. Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure the strap is in
good contact with your skin and is properly grounded.
6
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the mounting screws of the
filler panel on the expansion slot of the switch's front panel and
remove the filler panel, as shown in Figure 3.
Keep the
removed filler panel properly for future use.

4. Gently push the interface card in along the guide rails until the
interface card is in close contact with the switch. (See callout 1
in Figure 5.) Th
en push the ejector levers at both sides inward.
(See callout 2 in Figure 5.)
5. Fasten the
captive screws with a Phillips screwdriver to secure the
interface card. (See callout 3 in Figure 5.)

NOTE:
W
hen tightening the captive screws at both sides of the interface
card with a screwdriver or an electric screwdriver, make sure the
torque is not bigger than 0.4 N-m.
Removing an interface card
1. Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure the strap is in
good contact with your skin and is properly grounded.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws at both
sides of the interface card until all spring pressure is released. (See
callout 1 in Figure 6.)
3. Hold the ejector l
evers at both sides of the interface card and push
them outward. (See callout 2 in Figure 6.) P
ull the interface card
along the guide rails until it completely comes out of the switch
chassis. (See callout 3 in Figure 6.)
