Quick Start Installation Guide for Becker AUX Ready Radios
Works on Becker radios with AUX menu option only!
Revised: January 30, 2020
Introduction:
Just because you drive an older car does not mean you have to settle for old
technology. From a single USB terminal on or near the dash, the user can
connect, play and charge all Apple Lightning devices without sacrificing the
look and feel of the dashboard components. (Non-Lightning devices will charge
but not play audio). The USB-BKR works on all Becker AUX ready radios (Aux
setting within radio menu) and requires sacrificing the CD changer (if
present).
Control of Apple device from its built-in controls and display, or optional
wireless remote. With the storage capacity of most portable devices sacrificing
the CD changer should be an easy decision.
Installation:
We recommend disconnecting car battery, but before
anything locate and record the radio safe code. Don’t
disconnect battery if radio code is not available, otherwise
radio will cease to operate.
1. Remove radio from dash to gain access to connectors. A pair of radio
removal tools (See Fig. 1) required to release radio from dash.

2. Slide tools into slots (51) on Radio. (Straight edge facing away).
Withdraw radio by pulling outwards. To release keys simply press
retaining springs. See Fig. 2. For detailed radio removal click here.
3. If vehicle has optional CD changer, it must be disconnected.
Both blue (C-3) and green (C-2) plugs must be disconnected (See
Fig. 3)
Revision! Green plug is no longer part of the harness. Power is now
taken directly from vehicles +12V Accessory supply using wire harness in
Fig. 5 which connects to radio on chamber A as seen in Fig.3 below.
Note: The adapter by default works (play & charge) only when ignition is
“ON” however the option to charge at all times is available by switching
installation harness red over to yellow wire (pin 4)

4. Connect blue plug from Adapter (See. Fig. 4) to C-3 chamber on Radio
(See Fig. 3)

Special installation for Ferrari Cascade radios (BE6111, BE6112 etc)
with factory Hands- Free option:
In order to retain cluster display (see Fig. 4a) and/or factory hands-free
calling option, you must purchase our ISO8-HAR harness which allows
the USB-BKR to work in these applications. (See Fig. 4b).
To install the ISO8-HAR, you must connect adapter harness blue plug to
radio chamber C-3 and factory blue ISO plug to ISO8-HAR 8-pin black
connector. Vehicles without cluster display and/or factory Bluetooth
hands-free option do not require this harness.

in step 5)

Alert! Authentic Apple charging cable required for proper operation.
Knock off Lightning cable may intermittently. If suddenly music plays
from Apple device built-in controls, it is very likely due to charging
cable not being an authentic apple charging cable.
Frequent asked questions
1. Does the USB-BKR play older Apple and Android devices?
NO, this adapter charges all devices but playback is only possible from
Apple Lightning devices (older 30-pin devices will charge but not play).
2. Music stops playing on car speakers and plays through phone. Why is
that?
this is very likely due to faulty or no-authentic Apple charging cable. Please
use Apple authentic cable for this adapter to perform as intended.
3. Does the USB-BKR work on all Becker radios?
NO; the USB-BKR only works on Becker radios with “AUX” input
capabilities. Becker radios with no AUX menu option (e.g. CR-210, CDR-210,
CR-1 etc.), are NOT compatible.
4. Do you offer an adapter that works on Becker radios without “AUX”
input capabilities?
YES; Our iL-BKRCD works but only if vehicle has a CD Changer. The CD
Changer remains connected but will no longer function. You may also
purchase our IS-7705 FM Modulated adapter which work on any FM Radio.
5. Can I control my Apple device from the radio buttons?
NO; you must use Apple built-in controls and display to operate the
device. Volume button on radio is used to set playback level.
