5. Mount the keypad to the console mast
If you have the Q47e keypad:
a. Removethetwoscrewssecuringtheconsolebackpiece
to the mast plate.
b. Route the cable from the heart rate board down through
the top of the mast tube and out of the hole beneath the
console plate.
c. Route the red and white fan wires with the white
connector down through the top of the mast tube and out
of the hole beneath the console plate.
d. Attachtheblackribboncableconnectorfromthetopof
theconsolemast tube to itsconnectiononthe back of
the keypad (2). Tug the cables gently to ensure the
connectors are completely seated.
e. Positionthekeypad(2)onthemast(B)andinserteachof
the 4 shorter screws through the mast holes and into the
keypadback.Tightenscrewstosecure.
If you have the Q47ce keypad:
a. Removethetwoscrewssecuringtheconsolebackpiece
to the mast plate.
b. Use a utility knife to cut the rubber grips and remove
them from the stationary handlebars.
c. Leading with the white plastic connector, insert the
contact heart rate cable (a) through the hole in the
“user’s right” side of the mast and feed it up through the
mast tube.
d. Feed the cable for the right grip, labeled “Right Hand
Contact”, up through the right handlebar tube.
e. Feed the cable for the left grip through the hole in the
“user’s right” side of the mast and through the hole on
the “user’s left” side, then feed it up through the left
handlebar tube.
f. Select a ‘left’ side grip (b), differentiated from a right
sidegrip(c)bytwoscrewholes.Placearubbergasket
(d)intothelefthalfofthecontactgrip,andpositionon
the left handlebar.
g. Positionthesmallwhitewireoutintheslotatthetopof
thelefthalfofthehandgrip(thesideclosesttoauser
standingonthepedals).Positionthesmallredwirein
theslotatthebottomofthehandgrip(awayfromthe
user).
h. Selecta‘right’sidegrip(c),fititwiththelefthalfaround
the handlebar, and secure the two halves together using
two2mmscrews(e).Makesurethatthewiresareinthe
slots, not clamped between the grips; tighten the screws
until that the grip is stable.
