oil impenetraEle gloves safety glasses and use cardEoard to checN for evidence of oil leaNs.
- If you suspect a leaN REMOVE the HOSE and have it tested at a Dealer. If oil does penetrate
the sNin have the inMury treated immediately Ey a physician NnowledgeaEle and sNilled in this
procedure. Always read carefully and comply fully with the manufacturers instructions when
handling oil solvents cleansers and any other chemical agent.
Mow at the speed that you can safely operate and control the tractor and implement. Safe
mowing speed depends on terrain condition and grass type density and height of cut. Normal
ground speed range is from to 5 mph. Use slow mowing speeds when operating on or near
steep slopes ditches drop-offs overhead oEstructions power lines or when deEris and foreign
oEMects are to Ee avoided.
Avoid mowing in reverse direction when possiEle. ChecN to maNe sure there are no persons
Eehind the implement and use e[treme care when mowing in reverse. Mow only at a slow
ground speed where you can safely operate and control the tractor and implement. Never mow
an area that you have not inspected and removed deEris or foreign material.
The implement is designed for certain mowing applications and is rated to cut up to a speciÀc
si]e vegetation see implement Standard eTuipment and SpeciÀcations on page 1. DO NOT
use this implement to cut vegetation aEove the implement’s rated capacity or to cut any type of
non-vegetative material. Only operate this implement on a properly si]ed and eTuipped tractor.
Operating this implement in an application for which it is not designed andor operating the
implement with the wrong si]e tractor can cause implement component damage and eTuipment
failure resulting in possiEle serious inMury or death.
Do not operate or pull the implement into standing water. When uplift or fan type implement
Elades contact water they can Ee severely deÁected downward causing possiEle failure of Elade
resulting in serious Eoldly inMury to the operator or Eystanders.
Do not mow with two machines in the same area e[cept with caE tractors with the windows
closed.
Do Not attempt to raise or lower the implement wing unless the implement tongue is securely

and possiEle serious inMury or death. Raise or lower the implement wing only while seated in the
tractor operators seat with the seat Eelt securely fastened.
Do not turn so sharp or lift implement so high to produce a severe ´NnocNingµ of the driveline
which will cause accelerated wear and EreaNage of drive train components and could result in
possiEle inMury from the separated Driveline sections.
Periodically shut down the tractor and implement and clean clippings and collected deEris from
the implement decN. DO NOT approach the implement unless the tractor is turned off and all
motion has ceased.
Never crawl under a raised implement supported solely Ey the tractor -Point hitch. Release of
the control lever or mechanical failure will result in the implement falling and possiEle inMury or
death. Always securely ElocN up the implement Eefore crawling underneath to perform repairs
and service. DO NOT allow any person under a folded wing unless wing is securely locNed up or
supported.
Equipment Operation Safety – Clearances and Obstructions
Rotary implements are capaEle under adverse conditions of throwing oEMects for great distances
 feet or more and causing serious inMury or death. )ollow safety guidelines carefully.
STOP MOWIN* I) PASSERSBY ARE WITHIN 1 YARDS
Be sure you have adeTuate Nnowledge of the property you will Ee worNing on. TaNe time to
maNe yourself aware of any area underground lines or caEles. Always Neep a careful looNout
and use e[treme care when worNing around utility and municipal oEstructions. Never allow the
implement to contact any utility municipal or other type structure. Clearly marN all mowing
oEstructions and consult local utility providers for a safe code of operation.
Mow only in conditions where you have clear visiEility in daylight or with adeTuate artiÀcial
lighting. Never mow in darNness or foggy conditions where you cannot clearly see at least 1
yards in front and to the sides of the tractor and implement. MaNe sure that you can clearly see
and identify passersEy steep slopes ditches drop-offs overhead oEstructions power lines
deEris and foreign oEMects. If you are unaEle to clearly see these types of items discontinue
mowing.
This implement is wider than the tractor. Be careful when operating or transporting this
eTuipment to prevent the implement from running into or striNing sign posts guard rails

are close Ey or underneath the wings. Allow ample clearance around the implement when
folding or unfolding the wings.
The rotating parts of this machine have Eeen designed and tested for rugged use. However the
Elades could fail upon impact with heavy solid oEMects such as metal guard rails and concrete
structures. Such impact could cause the EroNen oEMects to Ee thrown outward at very high
velocities. To reduce the possiEility of property damage serious inMury or even death never
allow the cutting Elades to contact such oEstacles.
E[treme care should Ee taNen when operating near loose oEMects such as gravel rocNs wire
and other deEris. Inspect the area Eefore mowing. )oreign oEMects should Ee removed from the
site to prevent machine damage andor Eodily inMury or even death. Any oEMects that cannot
Ee removed must Ee clearly marNed and carefully avoided Ey the operator. Stop mowing
immediately if Elades striNe a foreign oEMect. Repair all damage and maNe certain rotor or Elade
carrier is Ealanced Eefore resuming mowing.
This machine is often operated in heavy Erush and in heavy weeds. The Elades of this implement
can throw oEMects if shields are not properly installed and maintained. Serious inMury or even
death may occur unless care is taNen to insure the safety of the operator Eystanders or
passersEy in the area. Do not operate this machine with anyone in the immediate area. Stop
mowing if anyone is within 100 yards of implement.
Note: Where there are grass and weeds high enough to hide debris that could be struck by the blades, the
area should be: inspected and large debris removed, mowed at an intermediate height, inspected, closely with

Many varied oEMects such as wire caEle rope or chains can Eecome entangled in the operating
parts of the implement head. These items could then swing outside the housing at greater
velocities than the Elades. Such a situation is e[tremely ha]ardous and could result in serious
inMury or even death. Inspect the cutting area for such oEMects Eefore mowing. Remove any liNe
oEMect from the site. Never allow the cutting Elades to contact such items.
Do not let the Elades turn when the implement decN is raised for any reason including clearance
or for turning. Raising the implement decN e[poses the cutting Elades which creates a potentially
serious ha]ard and could cause serious inMury or even death from oEMects thrown from the
Elades.
Do Not operate this eTuipment in areas where insects such as Eees may attacN you andor
cause you to lose control of the eTuipment. If you must enter in such areas use a tractor with
an enclosed caE and close the windows to prevent insects from entering. If a tractor caE is not
availaEle wear suitaEle clothing including head face and hand protection to shield you from the
insects. AttacNing insects can cause you to lose control of the tractor which can result in serious
inMury or death to you or Eystanders. Never dismount a moving tractor.

SAFETY SECTION
Connecting or Disconnecting Implement Safety
Always shut the tractor completely down place the transmission in parN and set the parNing
EraNe Eefore you or anyone else attempts to connect or disconnect the implement and tractor
hitches.
DO NOT use a PTO adapter to attach a non-matching implement driveline to a tractor PTO.
Use of an adapter can douEle the operating speed of the implement resulting in e[cessive
viEration thrown oEMects and Elade and implement failure. Adapter use will also change the
worNing length of the driveline e[posing unshielded driveline areas. Serious Eodily inMury and
or eTuipment failure can result from using a PTO adapter. Consult an authori]ed dealer for
assistance if the implement driveline does not match the tractor PTO.
When attaching the implement input driveline to the tractor PTO it is important that the
connecting yoNe spring activated locNing collar slides freely and the locNing Ealls are seated
securely in the groove on the tractor PTO shaft. A driveline not attached correctly to the tractor
PTO shaft could come loose and result in personal inMury and damage to the implement.
Before operating the implement checN to maNe sure the implement input driveline will not
Eottom out or Eecome disengaged. Bottoming out occurs when the inner shaft penetrates the
outer housing until the assemEly Eecomes solid-it can shorten no more. Bottoming out can
cause serious damage to the tractor PTO Ey pushing the PTO into the tractor and through the
support Eearings or downward onto the PTO shaft EreaNing it off. A EroNen drive line can cause
personal inMury.
On a fully-assemEled unit do not remove the transport Ears until hoses are attached to the
tractor and the Wing Cylinders are Àlled with oil. Lower the wings slowly and carefully. .eep
Eystanders away during operations.
Never unhitch without using the Tongue JacN. The Tongue is very heavy. Attempting to lift the
Tongue without using the Tongue JacN could cause strains or other inMury. Allowing the tongue
to fall suddenly and une[pectedly could result in crushing inMury. Use the Tongue JacN for lifting
the implement only. Overloading the Tongue JacN can cause failure with possiEle serious Eodily
inMury or even death.
To prevent tipping of implement when stored in folded position use carrying wheels or
adeTuate stands on center frame.

SAFETY SECTION
Transporting Safety
Only tow the implement Eehind a properly si]ed and eTuipped tractor which e[ceeds the
weight of the implement Ey at least 0. DO NOT tow the implement Eehind a trucN or other
type of vehicle. Never tow the implement and another implement connected in tandem. Never
tow the implement at speeds over 0 MPH.
Secure the implement for transport Eefore traveling on puElic roads. )or pull-type implements
secure the center a[le using cylinder stops or transport pin and properly attach a safety chain
Eetween the implement and tractor. Secure wings in upright position on folding implements
using wing transport locNs.
MaNe certain Eefore transporting that a ´Slow Moving Vehicleµ SMV sign is installed in such
a way as to Ee clearly visiEle and legiEle. When transporting the implement use the tractor
Áashing warning lights and follow all local trafÀc regulations.
Your driving vision may Ee reduced or impaired Ey the tractor caE or implement. Before driving
on puElic roadways identify any limited vision areas and maNe adMustments to your operating
position mirrors and the implement transport position so that you can clearly see the area
where you will Ee traveling and any trafÀc that may approach you. )ailure to maintain adeTuate
vision of the puElic roadway and trafÀc can result in serious inMury or even death.
Understand the tractor and implement and how it handles Eefore transporting on streets and
highways. MaNe sure the tractor steering and EraNes are in good condition and operate properly.
Transport only at speeds where you can maintain control of the eTuipment. Serious accidents
and inMuries can result from operating this eTuipment at high speeds. Before transporting the
tractor and implement determine the proper transport speeds for you and the eTuipment. MaNe
sure you aEide Ey the following rules
- Test the tractor at a slow speed and increase the speed slowly. Apply the BraNes smoothly to
determine the stopping characteristics of the tractor and implement. As you increase the speed
of the tractor the stopping distance increases. Determine the ma[imum transport speed not to
e[ceed 0 mph 0 Nph for towing this eTuipment.
- Test the eTuipment at a slow speed in turns. Increase the speed through the turn only after you
determine that it is safe to operate at a higher speed. Use e[treme care and reduce your speed
when turning sharply to prevent the tractor and implement from turning over. Determine the
ma[imum safe turning speed for you and this eTuipment Eefore operating on roads or uneven
ground.

·9,3(5
SAFETY SECTION
- Be aware of the operating conditions. Do not operate the tractor with weaN or faulty EraNes
or worn tires. When operating down a hill or on wet or rain slicN roads the EraNing distance
increases use e[treme care and reduce your speed. When operating in trafÀc always use the
tractors Áashing warning lights and reduce your speed. Be aware of trafÀc around you and
watch out for the other guy.
Turn curves or go up hills only at a low speed and using a gradual steering angle. Rear mounted
implements move the center of gravity to the rear and remove weight from the front wheels.
MaNe certain Ey adding front Eallast that at least 0 of the tractors weight is on the front
wheels to prevent rearing up loss of steering control or tractor tip-over.
When the wings are folded for transport the center of gravity is raised and the possiEility
of overturn is increased. Drive slowly and use e[treme caution when turning on hillsides.
Overturning the implement could cause the implement to overturn the tractor and vice versa
resulting in serious inMury or even death. Never fold wings on a hillside...the implement may
overturn.
Slow down on rough or uneven surfaces to prevent loss of steering control which could result in
property damage or possiEle inMury. Do not transport unless -Point lift lever is fully raised and
in the latched transport position. Dropping implement in transport can cause serious damage to
the tractor andor implement and possiEly cause the operator or others to Ee inMured or Nilled.
In wet conditions where there is a liNelihood of material collecting on the implement maNe
certain that e[cess material is removed Eefore traveling on puElic roadways.
Allow sufÀcient clearance for the implement to swing outward while turning. Implements carried
Eehind the tractor will swing outside the tire path when maNing turns. Contacting a solid oEMect
while turning will cause eTuipment damage and possiEle inMury.
Always Neep a careful looNout and use e[treme care when transporting around overhead
oEstructions and electrical power lines. The implement wing can Ee over 10 feet high. Never
allow the implement wing to come within 10 feet of any power line.
Maintenance and Service Safety
Periodically inspect all moving parts for wear and replace when necessary with authori]ed
service parts. LooN for loose fasteners worn or EroNen parts and leaNy or loose Àttings. MaNe
sure all pins have cotter pins and washers. Serious inMury may occur from not maintaining this
machine in good worNing order.
Perform service repairs and luErication according to the maintenance section. Ensure the
unit is properly luEricated as speciÀed in the luErication schedule and all Eolts and nuts have
proper torTue. )ailure to properly service repair and maintain this implement in good operating
condition could cause component failure and possiEle serious inMury or even death.

SAFETY SECTION
Use e[treme caution when getting onto the implement to perform repairs maintenance and
when removing accumulated material. Only stand on solid Áat surfaces to ensure good footing.
Use a ladder or raised stand to access high spots which cannot Ee reached from ground level.
Slipping and falling can cause serious inMury or death.
Never worN under the implement the frameworN or any lifted component unless the implement
is securely supported or ElocNed up to prevent sudden or inadvertent falling which could cause
serious inMury or even death.
Never attempt to luEricate adMust or remove material from the implement while it is in motion
or while tractor engine is running. MaNe sure the tractor engine is off the transmission in parN
the parNing EraNe set and that the Ney is with you Eefore worNing on the implement.
Relieve hydraulic pressure prior to doing any maintenance or repair worN on the implement.
Place the implement on the ground or securely ElocNed up disengage the PTO and turn off the
