BeforeYouClean

1. Planactivities togive carpettime todry.

2. Removeeasilymovedfurniture (chairs,lamps,

coffee/cocktailtables, etc.) from roomif needed.

3. Vacuumcarpetthoroughly.

4. Decidewhere tobegin-- andend-- your job.

Cleanin3' X 4' sections,startingin areasfarthest

from exit.Planto leavea path open toempty

soiledwater andrefill cleaner.

5. Carpetingwill dry in threetofour hours,depending

oncarpetstyleandair circulationinroom.A floor

fanspeedsdrying.

6. Replacefurnitureondamp carpetingby placing

waxedpaperunderlegsuntilfloordriescompletely.

Fill the Tank

1. RemovetheClean/SolutionTankby lifting it

straight up,thenaway from the LowerBody.

2. Unscrewthe black cap at thebottom of the

Clean/SolutionTank.

3. Addoneof the BISSELLAdvancedCleaningformu-

lasfor DeepCleaningmachinesto theformula fill

lineon the Clean/Solutiontank. Fillthe rest of the

tankwith hot (not boiling)tapwater to thewater

fill line.Replaceandtightenthe black cap.

4. PlaceClean/SolutionTankon LowerBody.

5. RotateQuickReleaseCordWrapTM to releasethe

PowerCordand plug into anoutlet.

Pre-treat stubborn stains and highly soiled

carpet in hallways and other high-traffic areas.

1. UsingBISSELLToughStainpre-cleaner,generously

sprayevenlyoversoiledarea,donot overwetcarpet.

2. Wait3 -5 minutesbeforedeep cleaning.

[located in foot ofunit] ON.

2. Withfoot, pressthe DetentLeveronright sideof

Lower Body.

3. DepressSprayTriggerto spraycleaningsolution.

Do notoverwet.

4. Tosuctionu_water,repeatmotionover same

areawithout depressingTrigger.

5. RepeatSteps3 and4 until nomoredirt can

be removed.

6. Continueto cleanentire carpet,working in

3' x 4' sections.

7. Emptythe CollectionTankwhendirtywater reaches

thefull line,orwhenthe Clean/SolutionTank is

empty.Seepage8 for instructions.

8. If FloorNozzlestopsspraying,turn PowerSwitch

OFFandcheckwater andcleaningsolution levels.

Refillif needed.

1. AttachHardFloorToolto Unit.

2. Removethe CollectionTank(referto #3aand bin

the RoutineMaintenancesectionon page 8)

A. For1770/1970 seriesit is necessaryto

removethe CrossAction Brushfirst.

Usingyour thumbssqueezethe 2 greytabs

towards theoutsideof the unit. Pushdown

at the sametime andreleasethe Cross

Action Brush.

3. Attachthe HardFloorToolby hookingit intothe

front of theremovablenozzleandswinging it

downuntil the tabs popinto place.

4. ReplacetheCollectionTank.Besureto attachthe

2 latches.

5. Fill Clean/SolutionTankwith BISSELLHardFloor

SolutionsTM to FORMULAfill line.

6. Fill Clean/SolutionTankwith hot(not boiling)tap

water to theWATERfill line.

7. Followsteps1-8 in DeepCleaningsectionabove.

8. Cleanor replacebelt. Attachbelt to Motorpulley
