QBiC Water Performance
QBiC WATER PERFORMANCE (Important)
QBiC water performance is described in the below.
To ensure safe and proper use, be sure to read this document.
And also carefully read the QBiC Instruction Manual.

1. This product is of waterproof specification. The waterproof performance complies with JIS
IPX8 according to our quality standard.

2. Provided the usage and storage precautions in this document are strictly observed, the
product can record underwater in a depth up to 7m, for a time up to 10 minutes.
This is, however, not a guarantee of no breakdowns, no malfunctions, or complete
waterproofing under all conditions.

3. Use the product in a water depth of 7 m or less, in a water temperature range of 0℃ to
40℃.

4. Do not use the product continuously under water for longer than 10 minutes.

5. Do not use this product in a depth of more than 7m under water (or in an environment
where there is a pressure equivalent to more than 7m of water).

6. Do not use the product during scuba diving.

7. Waterproof function of the product is for sea water and fresh water.

8. Do not dive into water holding the product. Do not use in locations subject to strong
water flows, such as in rapids or under waterfalls. The strong water pressure may cause a
malfunction.

9. The product sinks in water. Attach the product securely to yourself to prevent you from
dropping and losing the product.

10. Make sure that all covers, slots and knobs are firmly closed.

11. To secure the use of the camera under water, put it in a commercially available plastic
bag with zip lock or waterproof case for digital camera.
Make sure to firmly close the zipper of the bag or seal the case before using.
* When using a plastic bag with zip lock, we recommend that you attach the camera to
you body using the Body mount belt (option).
**The camera is not guaranteed to be waterproof or to be free of trouble or damages under
every condition.

12. Any malfunction caused by the customer’s mishandling, such as water entering the
product, is not covered by the warranty.

13. The waterproof performance is not guaranteed if the product is subjected to an impact,

such as being hit or dropped. If the product is subjected to an impact, contact your dealer
or ELMO Customer Service for repair (subject to a fee).

14. The inside of the product is not waterproof. The card and battery are not waterproof. Do
not handle them with wet hands.

15. The inside of the product is not waterproof. If water gets into the product, it may cause
failure.

16. In order to keep the waterproof performance, avoid leaving the product for a long period
in a cold environment where the temperature is very low at 0℃ or lower or in a hot
environment where the temperature is very high at 40℃ or higher.

17. If the product is splashed by substances as detergent, soap, hot spring water, bath
agent, sunscreen lotion or chemical liquid, wipe off immediately. Otherwise, it may
deteriorate the waterproof performance in the course of time.

18. ELMO is not responsible for any damage or loss of data due to water immersion or
impact.

19. Verify all the slots and covers are securely locked before using the product. If the
product is used under water or in locations subject to water splash while a slot or cover is
not properly closed and locked, water may enter the product.

20. Do not open or close the slot or cover in sandy or dusty locations, while close to water,
or with wet hands. Make sure that no foreign objects are trapped in the slot or cover,
such as sand, liquid, dust or hair when closing the slot or cover.

21. If liquid is adhered, wipe it off with a dry, soft cloth. Otherwise, water may enter the
product. Foreign objects may also adhere to the grooves on the side of a rubber seal or
at its corners. Remove them carefully.

22. The performance of the rubber seal of the product starts to deteriorate after 1 year. It is
recommended that you contact your dealer or ELMO Customer Service at least once a
year to have the rubber seal replaced (subject to a fee).

23. When the product is used under water or in dusty places, or when heavy dirt is present,
rinse with clean water while all the slots and the cover are closed, wipe off the water
droplets with a soft, dry cloth, and then dry the product completely at a well ventilated
location in the shade.
Leaving droplets or foreign objects may deteriorate the waterproof performance and
damage the product.

24. Do not open or close the slots or the cover until all the foreign objects such as sand and
dust are completely removed after rinsing the product. Otherwise, foreign objects may
get inside the product and result in water immersion.

25. Do not use soap, neutral detergents, or chemicals to rinse the product. It may deteriorate
the waterproof performance.
